0:22 first 2K played was 25 because in when I was in high school and middle school, I was never allowed to play video games. At college I still didn’t know how to play so I never got a PS five but then this year I got a PS five but now all my friends don’t really play anymore. I guess they’re all tired of it. Maybe because they’ve been playing since they were in middle in high school and they’ll have their friends to play with, but I never had any of that so I asked someone to play in and I’m like does anyone still play and he’s like no you’re cooked so I never had a childhood to play video games
@@223master I never knew how to play. Like I’d get the controller but I wouldn’t know any of the buttons. They’d say things like “A” is to shoot or Y is to rebound but I never knew where the buttons were to hit them without looking downwards. I didn’t want to deal with learning how to play because it was so much to know all in one sitting
@DeletaBlue69 yeah. Going into 8th grade I got suspended from the last two days of school for being disruptive in class, nothing crazy just a little incident but I got all of my social media and phone privileges taken away from my entire rest of my high school. I used to talk to girls and my friends and being in group chats on social media apps like just for fun and also for the team sports that I played. But my dad and his girlfriend didn’t seem to care about my social life. So once that happened and I went to ninth grade I just closed everyone off and I never had another girl text me again and I was never in group chat for my basketball teams so I was always left out and I lived in the countryside away from everyone else so I never really had any friends to go hang out with
@DeletaBlue69 imagine being the only one on your basketball or soccer team who doesn’t play 2K or Madden, fifa or COD. Or being the only kid out of all of your friend groups who doesn’t play Fortnite. I remember all my friends would be talking about that the whole time at school, but I would never talk about it so instead of staying with them I just close myself off and didn’t talk to anyone. I remember when among us came out and I think my whole team played on it for like a month on bus rise and stuff and I’d be the only kid not playing so they’d be all having fun and I just had awkwardly watch my friend play from over his shoulder. I would always watch all my friends play their games over their shoulder and I felt so below everyone. I just always felt worse than everyone when I looked over their shoulder so I eventually just stopped looking and show myself off. The feeling you get from looking over someone’s shoulder watching them play something that they like to do and have fun, but I can’t do anything about. Just so embarrassing. Not being the only one in your team group chat. For some people they can deal with that but for me it was the opposite. Everything just got a lot worse and I felt so horrible all the time. And I only did I feel terrible but I also was out of the loop so I never knew any trends. I didn’t know the new song that was on like I would get a fidget spinner, but a month after everyone else stopped using it, things like that. It could be a lot worse and I know I was very privileged in ways, but I didn’t take it very well unfortunately that’s just how it was and there’s nothing I could do about it. I just wish there were a little more open minded and they could see how unhappy I was always there was a trio of boys and I dang near bag to be in the group chat because I just wanted to feel included in with a group of friends and when one told me no through iMessage, I started crying because it felt so horrible being denied, but that should never be a feeling in the first place if I was allowed to be in group chats.
It’s franchise fatigue because it’s no competition we know it’s basketball it’s the fact that it’s the only basketball game we get and it’s bad they want to do more than just basketball which is why you can’t even enjoy a play now game which should be the focus str8 tip the ball off and hoop (pause). They need to focus on the head to head experience and the game will be better.
Idk if anyone has noticed but if you dance before going into proving grounds someone on your team is very likely to get kicked. It ruined the game for me
Imma be honest, the game is genuinely too difficult now. There are thousands of random animations and certain nuances you can only understand about them if you play nonstop. It honestly makes the gameplay more exploitable because its so complex that people wanna take the easy way out. I get making mycareer specifically online more skill based, but there has to be some way that a noob can hop on the game, hit blacktop, and have fun. There isn't. Edit: When I say "more difficult" I'm talking about the crazy RNG and randomness of green windows, the terribly made dribbling, and more like even layups take certain skill to make if lightly contested. The settings play way too big of a role as well, with high-risk and a lot more that genuinely shouldn't even be options. If you don't watch 10 videos on "best builds and settings for your build" you will waste $200 tryna max that build out. Which brings me to my next point. Shit is just too expensive. Why is one upgrade 5-10k VC? Why tf are short shorts 10k VC? Some shorts? They want everything in the game realistic except anything involving micro transactions. Then you barely get 1k VC for a Mycareer game with 12 min quarters? It feels like if I make the wrong build and invest time into it, I might as well quit because its gonna cost $200 more dollars to go make a new one. It's ridiculous.
I retired from 2K mainly due to the predatory monetization practices. It’s a damn shame that the entire community is still paying FULL PRICE for a game that’s chock full of (pay to win) micro-transactions. They’re not changing anytime soon so I had to hang the jersey up. I’m having waaayyy more fun on Marvel Rivals anyway. Great video Plug 🙏🏾💯
The community ask for something, then put it in the game incorrectly. This game is not how it used to be because of the grace (or lack of) for the community)
from someone who took 5 years break, but who plays a lot when i do, the biggest difference now is, that the builds decide the outcome much more than reaction, timing, and iq in other words - the badges are super buffed now compared to earlier, and it takes the random element away. aint no way my pg ever gets a block, if i didnt get block rating. same for rebounding, and a lot of other situations even muggsy got blocks back in the day... i used to kill people just off of better understanding of the game. cant do that as much anymore, if it aint in the build. this is what is taking away from the gamepley for me. i dont care about new control input, thats just a challenge. shooting, dribbling etc, is fine
For 2k to be the only basketball game and suck this bad is terrible for the community . This game is not even top 25 games of the year. Cfb. 25 tanked for 10 years and came back and doing better than 2k. Shameful
started with 2k8 when i was 8 or 9 and had every 2k up until like 19. finally got back on 25 and i actually fw it its just definitely a skill gap u gotta learn your position/bag and play w IQ and most people cant accept dat
I never thought i would stop playing 2K. But recently my friends stopped playing and the gameplay isnt realy fun anymore. It doesnt really make sense to play this game anymore. I guess its time to say goodbye.
They really need to bring back the 100k tournament for team pro-am… made random people play the game more and longer. Make the prize higher then that and also make a 3v3 one.
Honestly I think part of the issue is people copy each other. You aren’t going to want to play against the same build game in and out. I would recommend to try to learn the game by playing a multitude of different game modes. I think the footwork and shot contest system is a step in the right direction but the problem lies with the fact that 2k already hit its peak.
Also the fact that it’s a different time period. Unrealistic to expect the amount of people to play as much as they did in Covid or the peak of 2k content creation in 2k16
I didn’t even buy this year game looked soooo bad. Never playing 2k again I’m leaving 2k16-22 as my prime and hanging it up for good. College football easily my new favorite. Couldn’t pay me to get the game anymore
im just like badgeplug. I started off 2k with play now online, always loved ball, just could never get into the games. Im more disappointed that they took out all star team up, it was one of my favorite modes in 2k EVER, and it was a chill way to play
They made the grind to Veteren 2 way too hard for a game that is only suppose to be played for a year. This is why I’ve started to play 2k for 2 years before getting the next one
I had played 2k since 2k12. I ended up getting it after my best friend told me about 2k11 and how great it was to have Jordan in it. I tried out 2k12 and it was great. My overall experiences have been mostly good withe 2k16, 2k22 and especially 2k13 being the best for me. 2k14, 2k21 and 2k24 have been pretty bad experiences, so much so that I either skipped the next game or went back to the previous one, never to touch it again. I think there's a mix of franchise fatigue, server issues, the lack of 2k listening to the community to try to make the game better, the toxic fanbase and the many different ways of 2k getting microtransactions. I stopped with 2k24 when they introduced a battle pass and level skips for the seasons. It's already bad knowing they're the reason why next gen games are $70 from $60, they make it where you have to buy VC to start up your MyPlayer, then they add in a battle pass to try to intice people to buy a battle pass as well as let them buy level skips for the season rewards just takes away from the fun of trying to earn those rewards. There's no incentive to earn it because you can pay for it, pretty much turning that mode almost into a pay to win mode like they did MyTeam. I don't know if I will go back to playing 2k again. As for now, I'm not going to play it unless I am with friends and they want to play it.
It costs 75+$ for 1 build. That is ridiculous. I guarantee you if they lower the vc prices there will be more people playing the game. I don’t want to play with 1 build the entire year.
The numbers are definitely off due to the rep boosts. My friend who doesn’t play much anymore went from starter 1 to starter 4 in season 1. Another friend who played daily went from starter 1 to starter 2, only about 50% boost tho. I’m elite so I haven’t gotten anything obviously. It would be cool if they had a live player count, but I never see that happening 😅 they inflate too much.
The game isnt the same from our childhood. The first mistake in my opinion is adding the green light it took the realism out of a simulation basketball game and then the micro transactions ofc.
last time a new GTA came out I was a freshman in high school, I’m now 25, safe to say when 6 comes out that’ll be what I’m playing when I’m on the game😂
2K20 was the last 2K I invested in. I was disappointed when they shut the servers down and I couldn’t play MyPlayer anymore. I only bought 2K when it was on sale the past few years. This year, I skipped the game entirely. It’s not the same
KG was on the cover twice. My first 2k was the one with sprewell on the cover. That may have been year 1 or year 2 of the isomotion introduction. It was game changing. I took a break n came back in 2k9 bcuz live was dead by then and cheesey. Then it got better in 2k10 because the animations got less arcade and they found a beautiful balance. Everything after that became trial and error. And the cycle never stopped. There was a 2k where for some reason you was restricted to preset my player faces. I think it was the 2k before the park. We had a 2k were ppl were making 9ft Carmelo Anthony’s and bringing them to the online blacktop 5s. If I’m jogging sum memories holla !
My first 2ks were 12 and 13 and then i started playing 9, went into the black top with Dwight and Irving doing that dunking contest jumping over the cars
Definitely dribbling and how op builds are now. When you got 7 ft speed boosting centers that can do everything it really does get to a point 😭 I feel like if they bring pie charts back that would be a huge thing to make a lot of people come back
I'm 42 I work a lot but I still play when I can which is usually about 1-4 hours a day, but out of all 2ks I have played (I've played a lot), this has got to be the worst. Everyone is 99 three and big with a 99 rebound. How come when someone has a 99 means now my 92 rebound is worthless. I don't remember that before.
It’s more arcade than anything. They really should buff all that bs dribbling more. The guards wanna ball hog and shoot 90% from 3. They should include cap breakers while playing through the season more than just the city. It also should be very hard to get to 99.
It’s not even that it’s dying, it’s mainly that people that played it are getting jobs and have no time for a game that is still decent but not as good as the past
I played from 2k19 up until 2k22 and recently I've been wanting to go back and play it with some friends again. Come to find out the servers are shut down! So now if I want to play 2k online I have to buy either buy 2k24 or 2k25 (both are $120 AUS atm) I've lost about $300+ to 3 games that don't work anymore plus the VC, Event rewards, cosmetics, builds and hrs i put in are all gone for good. It's basically a $120 yearly subscription for something you eventually won't own anymore. Legend for what?
I play on EU servers and the connection is way to random for these dumb features like the RNG shoot timing. Splitting the Rec lobbies into Squad/No Squad and bans for quitting has been the worst for me, I used to play with one/two other friends but after running into constant 5 stacks playing 5Out/using Zone defence we just stopped playing.
Honestly most major sports games are dying. The lack of competition really kills the drive to be innovative or fix anything we complain about. Although I believe 2k is a far better and a more well rounded game, Madden is in the same boat.
What I think needs to happen is they need to become like Fortnite in some ways. For example, instead of buying a $70-$160 game every year update the game. Or they could add vc in they season pass and / or make vc cheaper and easier to get in the city or in rec etc
There’s too many good games already out and coming out next year for me to waste my time on game that forces me to be bad and puts me up against the sweatiest people possible because I’m decent at the game. I want to get off work and relax not pull my hair out
Honestly they need to separate my career and park. I don’t like to play online and it sucks that because they balance players for park people who don’t play online have to suffer
I wouldn’t be so mad @2K if they allowed us to keep our cosmetics we paid of in previous games. To keep our old OG fits that we worked and paid for would keep a lot of the gamers. Like Fortnite does.
I was just like you. I LOVED online quick games. Loved grinding for GOAT status but this was the first year I barely played online quick games. I used to play over 100+ games online games but this year I barley played 20. To many different jumpsuits to play normally and I don't have the time to learn every single one. The rec is also awful. My big man can't even make a standing dunk at times. Bad year for 2k unfortunately
Since the switch to next gen the developers havent found a way to make the engine feel good. Everything has been terrible at launch and slowly gets better before they give up on it for the year to develop the next game ONLY to fall into the same pitfalls as previous years. They cant stop the cheesers from cheesing and they show it to us year after year.

I think it's still fun. Ive never been one for parkm I mainly just do random stuff on my league
THAT PART
My biggest issue with 2k25 is that they advertise it as "realistic' meanwhile only some aspect are realistic and then others just are not whatsoever.
I’m 29 and my first 2k game was 2k3 on Xbox. And my favorite of all time is 2k11 because of the Crew mode.
Crew mode was it. They should have kept that and updated it every year. I want to play on real courts.
Biggest problem with this shit is the steals. One game it feels nonexistent and the next game you’ll get ripped every time
2k23 CURRENT GEN was better then 24 & 25
They don’t even know
2k23 current gen most underrated 2k
Especially the 1s ship 😂
Hell nah 24 was actually better specially defensively u tweaking
Nah u tweaking. 23 next gen, 24 current and next are all better than 23 current.
it's basically 2k21 with a new skin and roster updates.
they removed 2k24 before championship the last championship series. I also played the 1st NBA 2K 1999. Always MyCareer was the way to go for me! MyTeam came in the 2010's
2k21 is way better then 25
It’s dying for me personally because of the micro transactions, vc prices. It’s ridiculous how they try to extort the player
they shove microtransactions in your face all the time its so shitty bro. load up theyre tellin you about a $10-20 bundle. Then they Gotta show you the hall of fame pass to buy for $20. Like damn let us play the game and stop making it to where youre trying to make us spend money every second
bro like honestly 2k should just remaster the games we said we already , like a 2k16 remaster
This is all you need.
I don’t think about 2k on the daily basis. I’ll play madden and CFB before anything and I’ve never been a heavy football gamer
Same. I switched to Madden this year and haven't been back.
I just want 2k to make one game that resembles the 19-23 games🙏
Smh my boy Mook (RIP) put me on 2k12 and used to embarrass ppl on 2k13 blacktop online. Pure nostalgia
Rip Mook.
I’m glad 2k community finally waking up. We might actually get a better 2k someday.
My first 2K game was NBA 2K18 and I still play it till this day 💯🔥
Terrible
So you like this trash game lol cause 2k18 was the wrost 2k and 2k25 feels just like it.
2k7 was my first 2k ever i was like 6 years old & over the years i only skipped 2k18 & 19 regardless of what 2k does im the future im retiring from playing GTA 6 hurry up baby ‼️
Yes it’s dying 100%. I normally buy VC each year but I’m telling you, next year there’s no way. I may not even get the game.
“Is grass green?” ahh question
I'm playing on high-end PC, 360Hz 0.5ms monitor, 1000Gbit download (10 ping on every game) and I still slide on ice skates in NBA :)) Disgusting servers
2K had been cooked since 18 honestly, but 19 and 20 were decent. After 21 it was over
I actually don’t even think 2k25 is that bad. The vc grind is absolutely excessive and the rng on the shooting should not be there but I like most aspects of the game this year
Niccas like u bruh u must have never played uh good 2k we’re u could actually control your player
@@Geeabikcu can’t spell worth sht

@@Geeabikche’s apart of the problem casual mfs👎
@@Geeabikc seems like you might be the problem. Be different on the game and it becomes fun. Stop playing meta and taking it so serious. Only true bad thing for most people is the RNG for shooting which shooting gets complained about literally EVERY 2k as soon as folks like you have a bad game
I just miss when being a 99 meant something. The last 2k I loved was 19. Everyone has been worse and worse since then imo
2k13 was my first 2k, played all of them. I love the game of basketball too much to stop playin 2k
Damn that sucks you weren't allowed to play a single game
Why you didn’t just play at your friends house or some they didn’t have to know but respect your opinion
We were literally camping for pd locker codes man what a time. Terribly flawed system tho 😭🤣
2k been a money hungry trash game for years. Idk how any of you guys play that BS. Worst game ever
Lol plenty of worse games. I'd argue cod and madden are twice as bad as 2k. But 2k is bad still i agree
@@ftb3817but the thing is with Madden, other modes are fun too besides ssko, with 2k it’s either mycareer or myteam THATS IT
@@ftb3817upside with cod and madden is that they have a ear for their community

“that’s like your girl telling u she going to sleep at 8 on new years” im rolllin😭
Played my first 2 games in proving grounds. Both opponents quit. I’m never playing that game mode again
2k12 was my first 2k and 2k24 was my last. It’s sad seeing the road they’ve chosen especially being the only basketball game out
The community ask for something, then put it in the game incorrectly. This game is not how it used to be because of the grace (or lack of) for the community)
I meant that 2k puts it in the game wrong then, the community isint satisfied with the product
@@JaidonFr2k suck at executing shit
from someone who took 5 years break, but who plays a lot when i do, the biggest difference now is, that the builds decide the outcome much more than reaction, timing, and iq
in other words - the badges are super buffed now compared to earlier, and it takes the random element away. aint no way my pg ever gets a block, if i didnt get block rating. same for rebounding, and a lot of other situations
even muggsy got blocks back in the day... i used to kill people just off of better understanding of the game. cant do that as much anymore, if it aint in the build. this is what is taking away from the gamepley for me. i dont care about new control input, thats just a challenge. shooting, dribbling etc, is fine
For 2k to be the only basketball game and suck this bad is terrible for the community . This game is not even top 25 games of the year. Cfb. 25 tanked for 10 years and came back and doing better than 2k. Shameful
Same bruh , my dad brought me into the game life
My older brother put me on the college hoops games but 2k10 was where it became a staple to me
started with 2k8 when i was 8 or 9 and had every 2k up until like 19. finally got back on 25 and i actually fw it its just definitely a skill gap u gotta learn your position/bag and play w IQ and most people cant accept dat
Taking Bill Russell's Celtics retro team out of 2k25 completely killed my motivation for playing this game.
I was on Dreamcast, the original 2K
Honestly I think part of the issue is people copy each other. You aren’t going to want to play against the same build game in and out. I would recommend to try to learn the game by playing a multitude of different game modes. I think the footwork and shot contest system is a step in the right direction but the problem lies with the fact that 2k already hit its peak.
Also the fact that it’s a different time period. Unrealistic to expect the amount of people to play as much as they did in Covid or the peak of 2k content creation in 2k16
Personally as someone who only shoots rhythm I truly feel there is way less RNG with rhythm compared to button shooting
I didn’t even buy this year game looked soooo bad. Never playing 2k again I’m leaving 2k16-22 as my prime and hanging it up for good. College football easily my new favorite. Couldn’t pay me to get the game anymore
It’s so many quality of life things needed to boost the experience for players
This game could be okay if it had 22 or even 23 dribbling system… even 24 at least I could control my player & know what moves I’m about to get
im just like badgeplug. I started off 2k with play now online, always loved ball, just could never get into the games. Im more disappointed that they took out all star team up, it was one of my favorite modes in 2k EVER, and it was a chill way to play
My first 2k was 20k20 bro I had a lot of fun even though I didn’t know how to play
My first 2k was 2k11. I’m still playing but I started falling out love with the game around 2k21
2k12 and 13 were my frist game and they were the last time i truly enjoy myplayer cuz it was still focused on my career
It costs 75+$ for 1 build. That is ridiculous. I guarantee you if they lower the vc prices there will be more people playing the game. I don’t want to play with 1 build the entire year.
I started nba 2k10 on pc. I played everyone of them until now, but I've slowly played less and less and I don't even expect to play next year.
The fact that they kept records going and not resetting them after that close shot cheese lost me all the way..
last time a new GTA came out I was a freshman in high school, I’m now 25, safe to say when 6 comes out that’ll be what I’m playing when I’m on the game😂
2k19 was my first that really got me into it but I don’t play no more its not the same 🤦🏾♂️
2K20 was the last 2K I invested in.
Only 2k i didn’t play was 14
Definitely dribbling and how op builds are now. When you got 7 ft speed boosting centers that can do everything it really does get to a point 😭 I feel like if they bring pie charts back that would be a huge thing to make a lot of people come back
I miss the arcade feel. In the past 5 2ks. My favorite was 2k21 current
If they can’t lower the vc prices just increase the amount of vc we get 🤦🏾♂️
I'm 42 I work a lot but I still play when I can which is usually about 1-4 hours a day, but out of all 2ks I have played (I've played a lot), this has got to be the worst.
Legend for what?
hey badge, you should make a series or a video soon one day explaining how you reach the goat status in Play Now Online every year
one of the few things 2k did good this year was add an anticheat to the pc version
This was literally the worst year to make a bad 2k GTA 6 putting em under water
2k went from wanting to make a good basketball game to making a good money maker
NBA 2K25 is not dying and TH-camrs will definitely not allow it. Any publicity is GOOD publicity.
My first 2k was 20 I hit superstar always wanted to hit legend but I still haven’t cause games has been so bad lately no 1 plays
There’s too many good games already out and coming out next year for me to waste my time on game that forces me to be bad and puts me up against the sweatiest people possible because I’m decent at the game. I want to get off work and relax not pull my hair out
I played since 20 but then on 22 i started playing mycareer and i loved it
Honestly they need to separate my career and park.
First game was 2k10 with Kobe on the cover, used to always play with the Magic or Cavs
