This has always been one of my favourite Beatles bass lines.
I just realized that this song is the closest thing to jamming the Beatles ever did on record. And that's why it feels like it never should end. Songs like this really highlight the musicianship and harmonic knowledge they had.
I was add a 6 here, sharp this, add a triplet here. You get the point I'm making. It's a little peek under the hood.
I want you she’s so heavy too
Coff coff ... You know my name?
Ok McCartney is an absolute genius
didn't john play bass on this track?
@@clayscaleI don't think anyone knows for sure who played on this track. It sounds too clean to be John so you'd assume Paul, but it also sounds like a Fender VI which Paul didn't usually play.
All the biographers list Paul but who knows. 😂
Lefty has a thing for Beatles bass lines, and its a beautiful thing...
This is one of those Beatle song I wanna learn on almost every instrument
I love how the bass is so simple in the begging and the paul goes nuts he's all over the place and it's so tastefully done it really dose help the song move along without being to busy plus with Eric Clapton playing lead he shows he can Grove right along with him.
One of Paul’s best
Es de john
Love that rubbing sound of strings while sliding
One of the best thing i did on youtube is the subscription in your channel.
They say: "the guitar is great in this song", i agree, but the bass line is pure gold, i love it. Peace bro!
This is one of the greatest bass guitar playing on any Beatles song.
I love Beatle Basslines!
there is no coronavirus that holds, your music is always top
Wonderful work. Another genius bass line. Bless you all in Italy.
Thank you Dave! We hope to get rid of this stupid virus sooner or later...

Listen to the melodic sound of the bass on this wonderful Beatles song
I used to focus on the main melody of songs but Paul McCartney has made me become more appreciative of the bass and the background music. The Beatles used counter melody and ascending and descending scales in their music
This is a VERY nice cover,so it gets 2 big thumbs up from me! This song is literally what I need right now. Hope you're doing fine in Italy. We're praying for y'all!
Originally played on Paul’s Jazz bass
This song has maybe one of the best bass guitar playing of the Beatles music awesome
Someday we'll pull through and get you a Ricken just like Paul's.
To be fair, Paul didn’t use the Rick very much on The White Album, preferring the Jazz. Watching Get Back, it’s now clear why. It was damaged, presumably sometime between recording Lady Madonna in early 68 and the main album sessions later in the year. Even Abbey Road is a mishmash as far as basses are concerned (not counting the 3 or 4 numbers that had George on bass). The Rick didn’t resume its role as his bass of choice until the McCartney album. Even then, the album widely seen as his best ‘solo’ effort (Band on the Run) consisted mostly of some sort of Fender, believed to be Denny Laine’s right-handed bass that Paul restrung so he could play it upside down and left-handed. He also used a Kay Jazz when recording Junior’s Farm (and so quite possibly the Venus & Mars album).
@@markydh83 I can't think of any song on the White Album where Paul played his Rick. I think it's all the Jazz bass.
This is the most melodic bass line Paul McCartney played in the Beatles era 👏
Something is more melodic.
in mccartney 321 paul said it was john who touched her
Noice bro keep it up bro will always come for the bass tabs
Haunting Bass lines!
I'm very new to bass and can't play anything, I watched the beginning and maybe thought I could play this, that is until 0:47 showed up. Maybe one day lol.
This bassline is easy bro
@@thebasscovers5153 I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or if you have been playing bass for more than 16 days.
Don't worry, never give up especially at the beginning where everything seems impossible!
@@SgtKaito yes, i play bass since 2019 haha
@@LeftyBassman thanks, I won't! I had no musical knowledge whatsoever until I picked up bass so I knew I would suck for a while.
That's perfect!
Yes cool, thanks for this bass lesson 👍
Awesome, great bass!
amazing, but not surprising, dirk mcquickly at his best.
It's a lovely bass line
Thank you for this! Brilliant!!! Request : Crime of Passion (Mike Oldfield). Many thanks :D
Personalmente non amo i Beatles, ma questo pezzo lo aspettavo eccome! Grande
Спасибо!
The slides at 0:57 are so hard
Absolutely excellent.... I am just about to take delivery of my new Hofner Bass. I am just about to learn to play the bass. Can you tell me where is the best place to get hold of tabs to learn?
Nice video
Iconic piano = MacCartney
Iconic base = MacCartney
Iconic lead guitar = Clapton
Truly a Harrison classic. :)
Yesss
so damn melodic
To me is the best Beatles bass line!
Ciao, potresti fare la pubblicità della muca fa mumu? 😅 mi accompagna da quando sono bambino
What do you do to get that aggressive tone?
1:01 class
Is it in Am?
Very impressive but can you play right handed?
This bass line is like "Hello Im Paul Mcartney. Look at me!"
The bass in this song was actually a combined effort by John, Paul and George. It was most likely Paul on the four string bass, John on the Fender VI 6 string bass, and George on a standard electric guitar (this is only heard in the bridges and is very feint).
@@the_singingavgeek3433 No, just Paul on his Jazz bass.
Can you do breakthru by Queen
Please
I'll do it, promised!
Lefty Bassman awesome mate!
