So happy to have stumbled upon this. There is so much fear based BS going on and its important for people to get their own understanding for each candidate. Its easy to be afraid if everyone's afraid.

Off Track Betting in New York State has been racing into a crisis called shrinking revenue. Some people have spitballed a solution: Don’t close on holidays.
New York State Racing Law bars racing on Christmas, Easter and Palm Sunday, and the state has ruled OTBs can’t handle action on those days, even though they could easily broadcast races from out of state.
“You should be able to bet whenever you want,” said Jackson Leeds, a Nassau OTB employee who makes an occasional bet. He added some irrefutable logic: “How is the business going to make money if you’re not open to take people’s bets?”
Elias Tsekerides, president of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York, said OTB is open on Greek Orthodox Easter and Palm Sunday.
“I don’t want discrimination,” Tsekerides said. “They close for the Catholics, but open for the Greek Orthodox? It’s either open for all or not open.”
OTB officials have said they lose millions by closing on Palm Sunday alone, with tracks such as Gulfstream, Santa Anita, Turf Paradise and Hawthorne running.
One option: OTBs could just stay open and face the consequences. New York City OTB did just that back in 2003. The handle was about $1.5 million - and OTB was fined $5,000.
    Easy money.

listening to this from Australia as an agnostic
I'm hopeful that she is what she sounds like here, an exceptionally intelligent woman with deep knowledge of US jurisprudence, but it would be great if you didn't need to question her credentials because of her beliefs in a sect of Catholicism that reinforces female submissiveness and 24/7 Christian spirituality.

Lockyer v. Andrade, 538 U.S. 63 (2003): O'Connor wrote the majority opinion, with the four conservative justices concurring, that a 50-year to life sentence without parole for petty shoplifting a few children's videotapes under California's three strikes law was not cruel and unusual punishment under the Eighth Amendment because there was no "clearly established" law to that effect. Leandro Andrade, a Latino nine year Army veteran and father of three, will be eligible for parole in 2046 at age eighty-seven.

@Gino Furzi how is her judicial philosophy "Catholic influenced"? There is no religious test for a position in government. And your discrimination against her based on that is frankly disgusting but I'm not surprised as I see you follow people like "Now This" and other radical Democrats.

@@timothylee2772 She will interpret the Constitution as written... Covid 19 was never thought of in 1776... if an argument was presented that could be related back to written law she would interpret that... when a case comes before a judge it is how it is written that can get a decision one wants... nobody is going to be perfect with every conservative view. But I believe she was taught right... brought up right, and has been teaching right vs wrong for a long time now...

This has nothing to do with law. It's a complete "Tell me about who you are? What do you like? What do you do in your off time? What was your clerkship like? How about family matters? Which café is better, this one, or that one?" Ad nauseum.
Complete waste of time other than the confirmation of: (Paraphrased: -> "Judges should keep their personal beliefs out of legal decisions." - ACD)
Interview conducted by OBVIOUS law students that are more interested in "Girl power!!!" as opposed to the actual discussion re: legal decisions (that they really cannot ask relevant questions about) that have been previously determined by SCOTUS, and the logic associated with those decisions.
Sadly, I give this "interview" a "thumbs down" while I encourage Trump (and the Senate) to confirm her. ACD is solid, but this isn't what I clicked on for. Bleh. Don't care if she prefers pizza at this place or that!
