This has to be one of, if not the best you’ve done Matt! You tell the story incredibly well! Having watched the Gallows pole, this one was right up my street! Looks a lovely place too. 🤘🏻
Cheers Anthony, it was an enjoyable one to make 🙂. In the end I wasnt a huge fan of the TV series, as i feel the story of the Coiners is a big enough one be invested in 😊
Excellent walk through time and very interesting tale told in the local accent, I think this is better than watching the drama ‘the gallows pole ‘ and seeing the sites and old derelict church makes me want to visit. Thanks for this video tour and commentary it was fantastic
Wakefield Gate. 'Gate' of course is a Scandinavian word meaning 'path' - another bequest of our Danish rulers here in the north of England when we were ruled by them in the Danelaw. This is why we have so many streets called 'Northgate', 'Eastgate' and 'Westgate' in the north of England and paths called Limers Gate and Widdop Gate. There is a self-guided five mile walking guide around the coiners area called 'The Cragg Vale Coiners Walk', with map and illustrations.
Thank you for this video. It was good to find out the ending. Is it Hebden Bridge that's known for its witchcraft? I'm sure that's where I spent a weekend break with my GSDs back in the early 90s.
I'll be honest, I didn't like it.... the story of the Coiners is enough in itself to make a compelling drama or film. I preferred the book ....but I agree with your review 😊

I remember Mrs Calvert taking a bunch of ten year old to Heptonstall on one of her walks telling us all about the crag coiners
Awesome. I honestly have no recollection of it ever being mentioned at school....ever 🤔
Thank you for this video. It was good to find out the ending.

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching.
There's witchcraft over in Burnley, The Pendle Witches, etc. 😊.
All the best 👍
@matparks08 No, it wasn't there. There was a lot shops selling witchy things. It will come back to me eventually 😅
I watched that show. I really enjoyed it but it didn't have an ending. It just kind of stopped which was annoying. I wanted to see how it all ended.
