They (these were professional people such as teachers, en givers, etc) are forced to live in minuscule homes--apartments--in huge buildings with hundreds and thousands of people. I believe they treat children very well in these complexes--all sorts of slides, swings and other things to play on. They can roller skate, ride bikes, run, and play sports--real thought to growing healthy bodies. BUT the new apartments are so tiny that bedrooms have a small bed and desk built in under a window, nothing else--no closet, no dresser, no armoire, and never a bookshelf and books in your entire country! The kitchen is a sink and counter with half a refrigerator and some stools--a microwave but no oven, much less a dishwasher. The living room is just the other side of the room--a couch on one wall, the TV mounted on the other wall--that's it! I never saw an easy chair, rocker, or anything--and no bookshelf, as I said. No one reads a good book by a lamp? No fireplace or piano? No guitars propped up against the wall, no time to enjoy music and reading? One bathroom for a family of 4. I have 2 bathrooms and live alone--with 2 bedrooms, a garage and laundry room. And we all have ovens in our kitchens. This is nothing special, just a duplex. Next door there are apartments that a identical but no laundry rooms and less square footage. And these are not fancy--no one has any money. The rich people live next to the golf course--one couple whose aunt lived next door to me had 7 bathrooms! With automatic flushing. LOL. Silly waste of money--I'd tax them to help schools and poor people have better homes where kids grow up better, but no one asks me. As to why these people choose to make a home in a school bus? They can travel all over the country! It's a big thing here--we love to "camp." We go to National Parks and State Parks, and on other government land, where there are trees, rivers, waterfalls, streams, beaches, lakes, deserts, and ancients rock formations, caves, Native American monuments...wild animals! Yosemite in my favorite--I even got married there. And Yellowstone--google these places. Sometimes, we'd put my dad's camper on the highway next to the beach and spend 2 weeks, 5 to 7 of us with a small camper and a tent on the sand. Perfect life till school started again. My sister and friends would take a tiny tent to camp in Yosemite or Big Sur anytime we had a holiday--3 or 4-day weekend. Winter, Fall, Spring and Summer--they offer such natural beauty, where you hike, walk, ride horses, or just sit and read a book. The beauty is unparalleled! We always see/meet people from Germany and Scandinavia, Japan, too. The Germans and Swedish people love to hike...and skinny-dip in the lakes...my brother would be thrilled to meet such free spirits. I know Europeans do this at home, too, in the Alps, whole families... And there's a Russian man with tents that you use air to hold up instead of poles. He uses wood-burning stoves and "clamps" with his wife. You can't think people don't love to travel and live freely everywhere they can. Australians are always traveling and camping on their beaches and outback. Busses like this are popular with young people and seniors--p-eople settle down when they have children in school--psychologically important to their growth to form friendships, etc. I hope you get a chance to travel and camp. We found once anyone is out in a camper for 5 days--no one holds out longer than 5 days--they are willing to run away and never return home to job, or school... I think it's the natural state from Hunter/Gatherer days.
They did! They made rooms instead of cupboards. Instead of a shower closet, they created a bathroom! Bath and all! And what is most important in a bedroom--a bed so big you never wish it was bigger! Fresh air, moonlight, sunshine and soft, cuddly bed. They have a full kitchen and bathroom, and great big bed--that's what we all want wherever we live. And they have an ever-changing view out the window, beach, woods, whatever, and they step out the door to be there. Brilliance--every room is worthy of being on the cover of a magazine.

This is not the answer to homelessness--homeless people need help--psychological and physical--living hand to mouth on the street destroys their humanity, self-confidence, their feeling they are part of the human race. What we as a country have done to these poor souls in unconscionable--and those responsible lived in the most beautiful homes in the most prestigious neighborhoods... Ronald Reagan's home after leaving the WH was the most beautiful home in Beverly Hills. A brick mansion in the center of one of the 1st intersections after you pass through the "Bel Air" gates...a number of streets all come together just above Sunset...it was stunning. From when I was a little kid, I thought it was the most beautiful house... Such sick irony that he had so much to do with sending these people who needed doctors, medicine, & therapy out into the cold nights, hot days, and criminals looking to prey upon helpless people. This stunning bus is the culmination of serious hard work, fantastic materials, and design talent far above what most of us could muster--she said several years, I'd need 10 or 15--the bus is a very special vehicle that still must take hard work and lots of technical knowledge to keep it all working and looking so fabulous. People who are homeless do not possess this ability to create build, design, or maintain...or they would not be homeless. Not meaning any offense, but anywhere they even spend a single night is damaged, sometimes irrevocably. I am not putting them down--they have problems from severe psychological trauma--and if they didn't to begin with, being homeless can create that trauma. Many are veterans with PTSD who need and deserve professional help to deal with mental and physical issues, others are schizophrenic and may need permanent hospitalization to keep both them and the public safe. I lived in Santa Monica for 10 yrs--these people need care by the most expert of professionals. Some are murderously dangerous, and afraid of confinement--we had a man kill a social worker when she opened the office, another would throw his sleeping bag over young women on the beach and assault them in plain view of sunbathers. An elderly woman got into my friend's car and slashed the entire interior to bits. Thank God no one approached either her or the car. She was psychotic. They can be so ill. In Pasadena, the men could stay in SRO Salvation Army housing--and get support checks because they had permanent addresses, but not the women. Believe it or not, without any housing--therefore no "permanent address," the women had to prostitute themselves just to rent a room, buy a sandwich or the alcohol they crave. And they couldn't realistically earn enough to get a room--and had no ID or credit card either, so they used the police parking structure elevator or tried to get into city hall restrooms to ply their trade. Very close to the men in SRO housing--who had the checks and were flush with cash. Spreading disease... You can see how huge the homeless problem is--coast to coast, esp where weather won't kill them...the federal government is the only prayer we have of finding a solution--and 100 yrs ago, Congress would hold hearings, not blame each other, but invite experts from every area that impacts them, learn about the causes, possible solutions, study it for a year or 2 before trying to act...but now no one dares to mention it in fear they will be attacked, blamed, called a big spender or a liberal before they do anything.
This has to be my all time favorite bus build. It is sooooo cozy and so many beautiful details that had to take a lot of time and thought piecing it all together in the way they did. Everything fits perfectly, love love love it

You did a wonderful job I seen a lot of buses turned into homes but they never really look like a home they just look like separate rooms you made this bus look like a real home if somebody put a tie across my eyes and blindfolded me and it was night and then they took the blindfold off and I was in your house I would think it was a tiny house but a real house I would never ever guess it was a school bus was it hard to insulate the bus from the outside to make it thicker so it's warm and do you have air conditioning in there I don't buses can get awfully hot in the summer but you did such a beautiful job I have to say you did the best job I have ever seen in the last 20 years the people have been making buses into homes you win hands down❤❤❤❤❤

I’ve never seen a nicer coach, and I’ve looked at dozens of high dollar coaches, none of them have the warmth, charm, beauty and artistic flare as this one! You did a wonderful job I seen a lot of buses turned into homes but they never really look like a home they just look like separate rooms you made this bus look like a real home if somebody put a tie across my eyes and blindfolded me and it was night and then they took the blindfold off and I was in your house I would think it was a tiny house but a real house I would never ever guess it was a school bus was it hard to insulate the bus from the outside to make it thicker so it's warm and do you have air conditioning in there I don't buses can get awfully hot in the summer but you did such a beautiful job I have to say you did the best job I have ever seen in the last 20 years the people have been making buses into homes you win hands down❤❤❤❤❤

I’ve never seen a nicer coach, and I’ve looked at dozens of high dollar coaches, none of them have the warmth, charm, beauty and artistic flare as this one! I imagine to them, it’s priceless as they put so much of themselves into it!! I wouldn’t change a single thing about it…. Well except for making it mine lol ❤❤❤❤
