Banana Fibre Workshop, Anegundi, Hampi.
History:
This workshop started by Shama Pawer in 1997 with 4 women’s, and now around 400 women’s are working under this NGO
Making Procedure:
They collect banana waste around their village, soak it over night,
After that they collect single layer of fibre in that,
Through that single layer fibre that make strong thread of 200m (Like a ball)
Through those thread balls, they strat stitching
Matts, Hand Bags, Table Mats, Kitchen Storage’s, etc.
Hampi visitors can buy products from here.
Some foreigners visited this place before and took products, after returning to their country they order through online,
Likely products are exporting from Hampi to Abroad.
