Living in South Florida and spending a lot of time with my cubano and latino friends, I learned the value of family from them when I didn't have it in my own home. I lost my father to drugs and only met him twice, once when he handed me a bunch of balled up hundreds kissed me and drove off. I was 5, the second time I saw him was in jail now as a foster child at the age of nine, he was released two weeks before I turned ten and immediately went back to drugs, overdosed and died. I can't say he made me better through positivity like a traditional dad, through learning what not to do I am a better man which led to being a great friend to people and the best husband I can be. I'll take these lessons and grow until I am not here anymore, thanks to mom for picking up where he left off.
