It's funny because Jan was the one who inspired Pam to become an artist before she went insane
He could've said fragrances. He could've said scents. He could've said smells. But Michael chose "as you can tell, there's a lot of different odors in here." Brilliant writing. It's the little details that seep into your subconscious and make you feel the awkwardness and how the characters truly feel about things.
And Jan didn't seem to like when he said that 😅

Which is awful from a lack of trust, a lack of respect for Michael's faithfulness, an insult to Pam as an adulterous woman, and an insult to Jim as being someone whose wife cheats on him.

3:04 it was cool of Jim to ask a follow-up question for Michael's table and then compliment him. Must have been the first time Michael felt good in a while considering how often Jan berates and puts him down

Funny enough we just bought a new smart tv 😂, I felt like Michael because everyone has huge 4KHD 60 inch, or bigger and we just got a smart tv😂, my gf was trying to say we don't need a tv bigger than our last 35 inch one.......😂
I remember how relatable this was when it aired b/c TV's were super expensive, but was also hilarious because of the way Michael built it up. At the time, a plasma TV of that size would have been about $800-1,000. A nice big 50" would have been about $2,500. TV's were crazy expensive compared to today, but a big screen was definitely attainable for someone like Michael, even though it would have been a "big purchase." This was literally right at the brink of the extinction of plasma screens and the plummet in the price of LCD TV's. By the following year, you couldn't find many plasma screen TV's in store, and 50" LCD TV's were down to $1,000 from around $1,800 the previous year. Nice little time warp watching this clip.

I love how the house is such an awkward mixture of Michael and Jan's taste. You see what a terrible match they are just by looking at the decor.
Easily the greatest "The Office" episode. Genius writing and acting.
This one and Scott's Tots are supreme episodes.
I like the one where they find Michael script(Threat Level Midnight) and act it out while Jan and Michael try to land the Lakawana account from Tim Meadows at Chili's.

Does anyone remember when Jan and Michael go to Dave Wallace’s party as a couple for the first time and Jan is all stressed out and Michael (I think it’s Michael) tells her to smell a candle while they’re there? I’ve always wondered if that was deliberate foreshadowing or just a coincidence. She didn’t seem all that interested in the candle when asked to smell it but then later the candles become her thing and she smells them to relieve stress. 🤣
