    Absolutely the correct fold. I see so many vloggers call that for content and wind up punting off a stack. Rampage did that in a tournament calling down someone that had trips thinking his A high was good. Immediately in a different mindset. You did the right thing.

    Hey Lex,
    Good content like always 👍.
    I have a tip for you. I got this from Fedor which is a German Poker millionaire: when you have a hard decision to make do not only consider the hand run out and your history with the player. Just watch the player for two minutes straight. Fedor said if it is not a bluff the player starts relaxing at around 45 seconds.
    Don‘t know if U knew this but he said he made alot of money by warchting his opponents for longer times

    40K subscribers! Always look forward to your posts Lex. So much better analysis and explanation than so many other vlogs. • @Jimmy_James79

    on that AT hand I was putting him on QQ or JJ and maybe even KQ with a diamond and I would of called! However, after your analysis, which I learn soooo much from, made me think you made the correct fold and he had a set with pocket 8's, 9's or more likely a set of Kings and he was trying to extract value from your Ace. Thanks for the excellent hand analysis and content Lex!

    Based on your description of the opponent in AThh hand, that is definitely a fold. If he’s a tight, good player he has you here all day. Would he ever triple barrel QQ or JJ on that board? Once the flush gets there, he has no bluffs that would do this, especially since he could have several flushes of his own. His sizing also screams value from a tighter player, he could value bet all holdings that beat you for this size. Good fold, Lex

  • @icloudshd7998
    @icloudshd7998 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With pros to act post flop A10 is definitely a tough spot with so many value combos the opponent can have. Fold pre-flop, and nice fold on the river! A dollar saved is more than a dollar earned 😎 it’s not about being results oriented we play to make the best decisions time after time. Love your thought process

    I think A10 in the last hand was definitely a fold either preflop or on the turn out of position against a seemingly tight range. You will almost always be behind and when you are ahead, you don't really know it and value bet.

  • @GrumblingGreg
    @GrumblingGreg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont think people realize how good that value raise is, when you said he bet the $200 i was thinking we are good here so often but never even considered value raising. dont think that will work in my local 2/5 game but nice to see you making moves in the bigger games and getting value other wouldnt!

    Feels like a good fold there on the river. So many hands beat you there. All you have is a bluff catcher at that point, and considering how tight the opponent had been playing, he almost always has it there, esp. with that bet sizing.

    Should've re raised the turn. Put the pressure on him and maybe get a river check. If he calls then continues to barrel you, you know you're losing then. Even a small min raise would've given you the control. Just my opinion mind

    Part of me feels like if you called the turn and only a half pot bet on the river you should call right? BUT BUT BUT you did a nice analysis and broke it down. Tight player who has hardly played a hand in hours, 3bet pre and bet every street on a board with an A and a K and a flush out there. So this guy is obviously showing massive strength. It's nice to hit top pair but obv there is a lot more you have to consider. I think it was the correct fold but I might have tried talking to him, maybe he might have given something away if he engaged in a quick convo with you lol. Your game is really improving buddy!

  • @yiannipapaeracleous9396
    @yiannipapaeracleous9396 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    just wondering, since you dont usually show hands like small pocket pairs or suited connectors, how do you play them? Are you folding preflop? Or calling preflop then folding flop? Limping? Just curious because as most players know, limping is generally a weak play, so I try not to limp hands like small pocket pairs and small suited connectors or one-gappers, so that means I'm coming in with a single raise. But these hands can be very hard to play as they miss a lot and when you get multiple callers behind it's almost impossible to bluff, so as a result, I try to play these hands in position and I base it on the action before me. Just wondering how you approach these hands if you wanna share. Anyone feel free to chime in!

    In the 2/5 streets the A10dd is the way I would have played it. Of course the dynamics change at the 10/25 level but the way you described villain it's a fold. Such an under bluffed line by most player types and especially the person you described!

    Hells no man. You shouldn’t have called. That ace 10 is in the bottom half of your range for a 3 bet pot (guessing). The MDF is 67% and given that he is a tight player and your live reads, you absolutely should have folded. Maybe at AQ you could call but even that…
    Good lay down.

  • @davidthompson62
    @davidthompson62 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lex, on a very tight player, it’s just to bad you didn’t get the opportunity to get out earlier. The only hand you could have beat against a tight-ass is Q-Q or J-J. It’s more likely he had Aces, Kings or Ace-King. A disciplined solid fold……great job. The big winner was Rogue, getting to do his doggie business when you got home! You can tell he wanted to get out!

  • @davidchapman2839

    During the outro looking at his body and tail language I think Rogue might have been either a tad bit put off by the lack of familiarity of the new digs or he was a bit pissed at you for something. He did seem to perk back up a bit when he saw the grass tho so maybe just a bit of extra love will get him back to his old cheerful self. Keep up the positive parenting!
