I just want to let you know that no one in the US has ever eaten a jarred, canned or tinned hotdog. Those things are not sold here. Hot dogs at the supermarket are typically sold in shrink wrapped plastic packages of 5 to 10 sausages (or dogs). You can get bigger or smaller packages, but no one sells them in jars or cans. The only canned sausages I've ever seen in the US are the little "Vienna sausages" that are about the diameter of your finger and an inch and a half long, and basically no one eats them. And yes, it's odd that hot dogs (the sausages) come in packages or 5 or 10, yet the buns are sold in packages of 8.

Pork Tenderloin sandwiches are amazing, but yes very regional to Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and perhaps a couple neighboring states. It's true that many people throughout the rest of the country have never heard of them. They do look ridiculous when served though because you have a huge tenderloin placed inside of a brioche bun that is dwarfed by comparison! 🤣
I'm in California and never heard of it, but it looks good! We eat pork tenderloin here a lot, but not like that. To me, the sandwich looks like schnitzel in a bun. Here, pork tenderloin is normally roasted whole in the oven and sliced and served with potatoes, gravy and some veggies. I do make schnitzel from sliced and pounded tenderloin, but never thought of making a sandwich from it - even though it's basically the same thing as every sandwich on the menu at Church's Chicken or Chick-fil-A, except with pork instead of chicken.
You will need to try the frozen breakfast food here that is inspired by corn dogs - a breakfast sausage with blueberry pancake batter encasing it! It’s all about sweet and salty.

Ski down, get a Corn Dog for lunch and then jump back on the lift! Chili dogs are served inside the lodge and are a standard favorite. Never thought about eating either one of those in the summer. Perfect winter food to warm you up!

Pulled pork, hot dogs (as in sausages), pasta salad (pasta, cucumbers, broccoli, tomatoes, crumbled cheese, and Italian dressing), and freezer pops (it’s a flavored popsicle packaged in a tube) are my fave summer foods
Butter PeCHAWN Ice cream is my favorite ice cream. I find it quite common that Brits don't like Root Beer since it seems to taste like your medicine. Over here our medicine is, regrettably, Bubblegum flavored for the kids and cherry flavored for us adults. though sometimes I see Mint and "Tropical" flavored medication as well.
We do have Vienna sausages in a tin. Hot dogs are in plastic packages. Bar B Q is often referring to a special sauce on slow cooked meats. Although it can also refer to meats cooked on a grill.
Love coney dogs, you start with a regular hot dog, you then put a beanless meat sauce(chili is awesome fyi), chopped onions then you can put melted cheddar cheese or mustard on top. Finally I put ranch on mine and its really good.
From Iowa and pork tenderloins are popular here. There’s a small town east of where I live now that has a place that won best tenderloin in Iowa many years ago. Goldie’s it’s called. My dad lived in Oklahoma for quite some time and he asked about where he could get one and NO ONE there knew what he was talking about 😁
I used to hate corn dogs because, as a kid, i only ever had frozen corn dogs that were heated up. Then i tried a fresh corn dog on at a flea market in CA and fell in love with them. Freshly made corn dogs are the absolute BOMB!
When I was a kid we went to a grocery store called Gibson outside by the entrance they had a corn dog stand so good. The corn dog was dipped in a beer battered and fried. 🥰
The batter on a corndog is similar to the batter for Cornbread, it’s just fried instead of baked. They’re great and a requirement for kids to grow up on in the US. And we don’t really think of hot dogs the same way as sausages. It might be the difference between something like “frankfurters” and “bratwurst.” And if you saw one of our breakfast sausages, it’s absolutely nothing like you would use for a hot dog. The only “tinned” sausages we have are Vienna sausages, and you’d never use those for hot dogs, that would be gross. Vienna sausages can be an acquired taste. I liked them as a kid, but would gag on them now. They are more like a pressed meat pate in the shape of a stubby finger, gross.
I absolutely love corn dogs. I buy them frozen at the supermarket and heat them up in the microwave. My favorite flavor of ice cream is mint chocolate chip. I also like vanilla because you can add almost anything to it.
My favorite ice cream flavor is sponge candy with vanilla ice cream. Popular in western New York state. If you want to try root beer try it in a chilled mug with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Flash frozen coke, I’ve heard of dragon’s breath when something is frozen in liquid nitrogen and you breathe a visible vapor of water like a cold winter’s day, I’ve heard of fried everything. And just a lot of stuff around.
Banana ice cream is actually at universal studios Florida as part of their new minion themed land. They paired it with coconut or mango sorbet to burn a lot of taste out
Banana ice cream is one of my favorites from Ben & Jerry's. It's called Chunky Monkey. It's a delicious banana ice cream, with big huge thick chunks of chocolate in it and walnuts. It is delicious!
Corndogs always looked to me like the cattail plant that grows around ponds and creeks. They never looked like something edible. Of course seeing them (rather smelling their horrid smell) dried up in school cafeteria or rolling around on fancy rolling machines under hot lamps at gas stations, all sweaty and dry shriveled at the same time. With that dumpster funk smell eminated from them, that never made me want to dare consume them.
The dreck that is served on some gas stations and school cafeterias is not a fair representation of whatever food item you're making an assumption about.
Chili dogs depend on the region. The kind preferred here in Michigan which go by a few names: coney dog, Flint dog, greek chili dog. They all have similar spices and more of a taco meat consistency. Its not all sloppy and wet like chili dogs with, well, chili on them. And you wanna have them an all-beef dog. Nathan's and Hebrew National are about the best nationally available brands. Around here I like a brand called Koegel's. They make a natural casing hot dog. It's a blend of beef and pork instead of all beef, but it still works. Its when they add poultry that they get cheap and mushy.
I'm in east TN. We have a regional chain called Pals that uses a meat chili very much the consistency of taco meat too. They serve a dog with chili, onions, and mustard. They always win best hot dog when the area does those type of contest.
All beef hot dogs but sure you can go to the butcher shop and you can get hot dogs sausages in any flavor and pretty much anything any game meet cheese Burbs. I forget the name of the butcher shop but it's in Wisconsin and they make like 200 different sausages
Potato salad is the food I most miss from my childhood summers. My mom made an amazing mustard potato salad, and I lost the recipe and can't make it anymore.
Oh! I cant believe he mentioned superman ice cream. Ive never seen it before but my fiance mentions it often that he loved it as a kid. I guess its still around but not around here. Lol
Have you ever had a snow cone?? So so good in the hot summer weather. Not long now kids! Baby boy is on his way soon. Exciting.🎉 P.S. it's August Lawrence.
Hot dogs & sausages are two different things in U.S. While they look a bit similar, sausages are usually larger than hot dogs & seasoned differently. Sausages that come in tins are called Vienna Sausages & are not the same as hot dogs or regular sausages. Corn dogs are hot dogs or sausages dipped in ground corn meal batter. Most people add mustard & they are sold at fairs & sporting events but can be found in grocery stores. A&W Root Beer to me is best brand, but everyone has their favorite. Put 3 or 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a tall glass, add root beer slowly because it foams up, & then stir a bit you have a delicious root beer float. It is butter pecan “pee-kan” or "peek-an" depending on where you live.
My favorite summer food is slapping some burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and steaks on the grill. Than serve them with my homemade spud salad (potato salad), baked beans, and my Spinache Bowtie. After that it's time for some home made ice cream from the ice cream machine. Speaking of ice cream. My favorite flavor is plain vanilla. The only thing I want in it is a spoon. Another great thing about vanilla ice cream is that it's very versatile. You can turn it into pretty much any flavor you want it to be. Want strawberry ice cream, just put some strawberries in the vanilla ice cream. Want cookie dough ice cream, just put some cookie dough in the vanilla ice cream. Want chocolate ice cream, just out some chocolate syrup in your vanilla ice cream and you got a Wendy's Chocolate Frosty.
Corn dogs are hot dogs dipped in cornmeal batter and deep-fried. There is also something called pronto pups and they are like corn dogs except instead of cornmeal they are dipped in a regular flour batter and then deep fried
Corndogs are absolutely delicious and convenient. They're on a stick so you don't have to worry about dropping them and they don't leave a bunch of crumbs. They're the perfect food to eat while walking around. And they taste really good. Imagine a crispy corn muffin around a hotdog (not a jarred or canned hot dog). It's really tasty. But if we're talking summer foods then there's another fair/festival food that I love -- funnel cake. It's basically fried dough. Almost like a churro taste. Think pancake mix, but sweeter and crunchy with powdered sugar. I would always get that as a kid and loved it.
Hello from Phoenix, Arizona.🌵☀️ on a hot day 🍦 cappuccino crunch or chocolate mint just make my day, especially the ones from Thrifty, usually sold at water stores.
I think we may be running into the issue that some chain restaurant menus will differ depending on what country it is in. So I think that was a British Wendy’s menu item. I’ve never seen it in the US. Sort of like when the New Zealand family went to a Costco in Auckland and a few of the menu items likewise I never seen in a US Costco
Corn dogs are delicious, even if it sounds like a strange combination. Chili dogs are also good, especially Coney Islands - which have chopped raw onions on top of the chili. Root beer is like liquid caramel (and not actually a beer of course since it doesn't have any alcohol). Fussy Europeans usually hate it but many Americans view it as a nostalgic treat from our childhood.
The Koreans took the concept of the corn dog and went wild with it. Look up photos of Korean Corndogs, it's beautiful. There are some flavors of ice cream that are regional to specific areas. New Orleans, for example, has cream cheese flavored ice cream. Which is surprisingly good, by the way.
Love a good banana flavored ice cream. Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey is usually my go to but butter pecan or chocolate chip cookie dough are a close 2nd.
I'd say different flavored Ice cream has been the way American for years now. The Ice cream companies need ramp up production of other Ice cream for other countries honestly since heat waves are becoming more common.
Rocky Road is my favorite ice cream flavor. Chocolate malt and chocolate cookie crumble are a close second. I also love several kinds of frozen custard (which is like rich ice cream). I almost went to a local fast food place Oscar's Custard tonight since today's flavor of the day was Drum-stix! - which is hard shell chocolate, crushed nuts & crushed waffle cones mixed into vanilla. Edit: I hope you know he's joking about how pecan is pronounced. No one here in the US says it like that.
American hot dogs are generally not tinned in liquid like yours are, they're sold in plastic packaging by the bacon and deli meat.
I think she's talking about Vienna Sausages, which _are_ packed in cans with a liquid filler.
Butter pecan ice cream is my fave! Delish! 🇺🇸

@@skyhawk_4526yes, it’s a variation of a schnitzel. It’s the same concept but probably a little different in preparation and seasonings.
… and some Good Pickle Slices (Dill normally).
Corn Dogs are Delicious But for some reason they Taste better When you're at the fair Homemade ones are okay
The package Corn dogs suck so bad.
No one in America eats "tinned hot dogs" either in tin cans or jars.
Maybe they mean Vienna sausages?
@@SITHJELLONope - they come in tall jars or cans. The consistency is like a Vienna sausage. Not good.
@pacmanc8103 thank you for the clarification. That doesn't seem appetizing at all...at least not to me.
You will need to try the frozen breakfast food here that is inspired by corn dogs - a breakfast sausage with blueberry pancake batter encasing it!
It’s all about sweet and salty.
We do have all beef hotdogs which is the only kind I will eat. Pork tenderloin is soooooooooo good!!!!
Congrats Beesleys! A cold washcloth around my neck helps so me so much in the heat.
2:30 he's not kidding, the presidential speech in Independence Day is easily one of the greatest speeches in cinema history, trust me when I say you have to see that movie lol
Corn Dogs and Chili Dogs are winter food to me. At my local ski resort, Mt Bachelor, in Oregon, there is a corn dog food truck at the bottom of a ski lift. Ski down, get a Corn Dog for lunch and then jump back on the lift! Chili dogs are served inside the lodge and are a standard favorite. Never thought about eating either one of those in the summer. Perfect winter food to warm you up!
My favorite summer food has to be watermelon
Honeydew melon.😋
As a transplanted Iowan, Pork Tenderloins are the best sandwich in the world
How many times can you possibly pause in 1 video james...you own the record. Turn down the voluime of your microphone, you talk so much that you talk over the video...we missed a lot of what lawrence was saying
By now they should know that Lawrence clarifies everything. Take a deep breath and let the video run , it may answer your question.
Don’t forget the tea berry flavored pepto (yucko) or Dimetapp, which is Concord grape.
It's still ridiculously hot. Daytime is hot. Nighttime is hot. Wind is hot. Rain is hot. Everything is hot. We're basically melting.
We do pork tenderloin sandwich it's popular in Montana, not really the mid west. Mango and cinnamon ice cream is good and butter pecan is amazing.
We do have Vienna sausages in a tin.
Hot dogs are in plastic packages.
Bar B Q is often referring to a special sauce on slow cooked meats. Although it can also refer to meats cooked on a grill.
I love corn dogs.
As a New York Jets fan(since 1985)Thanks Millie you look beautiful.
I love a really messy chillidog. After about three bites, my face is a mess and I love it ❤
Love mine with mustard, onions, chili, and cheese sauce! 🇺🇸
@@S_Cooper0404 ❤️ And now I love you 😙 LoL sorry jk
When I was a kid we went to a grocery store called Gibson outside by the entrance they had a corn dog stand so good. The corn dog was dipped in a beer battered and fried. 🥰
Most Americans know about the meat that goes into the cheaper hotdogs but we still eat them. Mmmm grade E “Utility Meat”
nothing like a good hot dog with mustard onion and relish, only kids under the age of 12 eat a hot dog with ketchup
Oh, 43°c here in Fort Worth, Texas today and it's going to get warmer the next few days!
Flash frozen coke, I’ve heard of dragon’s breath when something is frozen in liquid nitrogen and you breathe a visible vapor of water like a cold winter’s day, I’ve heard of fried everything. And just a lot of stuff around.
James you're not alone on this. Banana ice cream is the stuff.
Ever tried Blue Bell banana pudding ice cream?
Banana ice cream is actually at universal studios Florida as part of their new minion themed land. They paired it with coconut or mango sorbet to burn a lot of taste out
Laurence's mustard colored shirt seems appropriate for the hot dog and corndog discussion.
They do look like cattails.
Last week I binged watched people biting into cattails. I don't know why I find that so fascinating.
@@alicesmith7020lol gross
Kuchen, rootbeer floats, pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ sandwiches, Indian Tacos, Walking Tacos, fried chicken, Pickled Mustard Deviled Eggs, coleslaw and potatoe salad are all great summer foods.
All beef hot dogs but sure you can go to the butcher shop and you can get hot dogs sausages in any flavor and pretty much anything any game meet cheese Burbs. I forget the name of the butcher shop but it's in Wisconsin and they make like 200 different sausages
Usingers in downtown Milwaukee has any kind of sausage you could want. There's always a huge line of people there too.
@@ozziepupreid thank you had a brain fart back there🤦🤜🤛✌❤🙏
Potato salad is the food I most miss from my childhood summers. My mom made an amazing mustard potato salad, and I lost the recipe and can't make it anymore.
We had hot weather on Saturday a thunderstorm popped up knocking ou our electricity we were without power until Monday ( yesterday). About 36 hours.
Oh! I cant believe he mentioned superman ice cream. Ive never seen it before but my fiance mentions it often that he loved it as a kid. I guess its still around but not around here. Lol
You need a Root Beer float, I'm not a RB fan either but love me a float.
Have you ever had a snow cone?? So so good in the hot summer weather. Not long now kids! Baby boy is on his way soon. Exciting.🎉 P.S. it's August Lawrence.
Corndogs are hotdogs on sticks dipped in cornmeal batter and deep fried.
You have to try root beer floats…a completely different flavor than root beer by itself
RE: oecan pronunciation--I can, you can, she can, he can, we can, PEE-can!
Corn dogs are amazing. Luckily you can get them in boxes to heat up at home lol
Corn dogs are hot dogs dipped in cornmeal batter and deep-fried. There is also something called pronto pups and they are like corn dogs except instead of cornmeal they are dipped in a regular flour batter and then deep fried
EVERYTHING on this list is great!
As far as the ice cream goes..
You need to churn it yourself at a family reunion.
A good maple sausage fried in pancake batter is an excellent breakfast “corn dog”
For fair food, I have come to love turkey legs. The same idea - meat on a stick. However, turkey legs are leaner and you know what they are made of.
Congrats on your new addition to your family!☺
My favorite summer food would have to be watermelon with seeds. They’re usually sweeter.
My ice cream is Raspberry RoadRunner from Publix.
A fresh, cold, Chicken salad sandwich is my favorite summer food
Hello from Phoenix, Arizona.🌵☀️ on a hot day 🍦 cappuccino crunch or chocolate mint just make my day, especially the ones from Thrifty, usually sold at water stores.
U.S. Wendys doesn't have chili dogs, just chili.
@@shawnmiller4781 I think they just add what they think are typical American foods to alot of the chains in other countries.
If you’re able to try natural casing hotdogs!! Better than any hotdog you’ll ever eat!!
A Detroit Coney is a bit of heaven.
Nothing like the snap of the natural casing.
@@nukemanmd sounds like someone knows all about the yumminess of natural casing hotdogs!
Buttered Pecan is my favorite ice cream! You have to try it!!
Corndogs are hotdogs that are dipped in cornmeal batter, and then deep fried in a fryolator.
Chocolate malt and chocolate cookie crumble
are a close second. I also love several kinds of frozen custard (which is like rich ice cream).
I almost went to a local fast food place Oscar's Custard tonight since today's flavor of the day was
Drum-stix! - which is hard shell chocolate, crushed nuts & crushed waffle cones mixed into vanilla.
Edit: I hope you know he's joking about how pecan is pronounced. No one here in the US says it
like that.
