Stefania Turkewich-Lukianovych (25 April 1898 - 8 April 1977) was a Ukrainian composer, pianist, and musicologist, recognized as Ukraine's first woman composer. Her works were banned in Ukraine by Soviet authorities. Later relocated to the U.K., continuing to compose, etc.
Belle oeuvre ! Pour l'Ukraine et son peuple en souffrance. Прекрасна робота! За Україну та її стражденний народ Prekrasna robota! Za Ukrayinu ta yiyi strazhdennyy narod
Thank you, I had never heard this before and I am grateful to have had the opportunity thanks to this video. I love it! As a curiosity, the painting used for the video is perfect for this Symphony in my opinion. I would very much like to know the name of the Artist/Painter if you would be so kind. Thank you so much for this magnificent work you have posted.

Thank you for posting this work. A new discovery, and will continue to discover.
1937 was a good year for music: Bartók's "Music for Strings Percussion and Celesta", Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, and Rubbra's Symphony No.1.
Wonderful Symphony!
Probably Ukrainian festival orchestra. Thanks

The painting is an old picture I'd saved years ago and unfortunately I don't recall the artist . . .
this is the work of Sperber Illustrationen, it was used as the picture of the Lohe album by the music band Flagras
