I looked up to you and the rest of the guys as a teen. Seeing this video gives me a good feeling knowing when I was a kid I was trying to mimic skate tricks of such a good person like yourself.

Met Steve in 1985, invited to his backyard half-pipe. The guy was genuine and frankly, I understand his faith, as his story is similar to mine.
WOW STEVE, your story here has brought tears to my eyes..i am also 80’s/90’s skater, and have been a believer now since ‘04! you have have always been my favorite skater of all time, ...there was just something in the way you skate and present yourself! and just now watching this and realizing your story a it more, and hearing you speak of your need for Jesus in your life... just amazing to hear. praise the Lord! keep rippin!!

Man , I'm stoked your a Disciple of Jesus , I'm an old school Bones Brigade era skateboarder and it took me until now to except Jesus , everything you said was true Steve , we are so sidetracked & deceived by Satan with self enlightenment and false doctrines that we finally realize that there is only one truth (Jesus, the way the truth & the life) as multiple truths are just not possible , kinda mind blowing that the word of God always is true but Man thinks he can exalt himself above the knowledge of God (who does that remind you of) and thinks he can make his own realities & truths. And then Man takes the word of God out of context & twists & distorts it to prove his own truth instead of opening there hearts, eyes and ears and actually seeing the truth. When I saw Steve and his skating skills i began skating..inspired me to skate..now he’s talking about Christ..it inspired me more..can’t believe this man is saved..happy to know he’s saved and talking about Christ..and for those thinking it’s sad and bad for Steve to talk about Christ you’ve never been on his shoes..you havent experienced Christ because you never accepted him as your Saviour and He(Jesus) will never save you unless you ask Him to save you..Jesus Christ is the only way and the truth to Heaven..all ways lead to Hell..

Dude, caballero is a christian?? I grew up with the bones brigade and all that, they changed everything for me. I never knew that he was a christian, that's awesome!!! Lance mountain, caballero, ray barbee are all amazing and they're christian, that's just mind blowing.

I feel the same as Steve but the other way around. I believed in god for years but one day I just really thought about it and decided that it just sounds crazy, and unreal all the factors to a perfect world Jesus will create just seem impossible. I do want to believe there is a god but it's just to unbelievable. If there is a god I'm sure he will do the right thing. I respect Steve and how he found himself.
Cab, what was it that made you realize that Christ exists? Did certain events occur that seemed to be more than just mere coincidence? Did he speak to you? Was it just an epiphany based on what you felt was from a divine source? You’re so good to your children in those “skateboarding basics” videos you put out. God bless you and your family.
I'm not religious or anything but I respect Cab a lot as a person, I've always loved his smooth skating style and he's just such a nice guy. Definitely one of my major skating influences if not THE one. He's kind of one of those people you'd have to be an asshole not to like.

I sometimes wonder of people confuse what is merely just philosophy for faith. The teachings of those alternate belief systems do speak of the delaying of gratification, avoiding the envy of others etc; what can be found there can also be found in the bible in some form or another. The advice offered can offer assistance to help one to improve themselves and also do good for others, but do not offer any kind of replacement for a god. The fact that the teachings in both those works and that of the bible have some common ground, does make you think a little.

Stevie Caballero was one of my biggest skating influences as a kid / teen, and I still admire everything he's done, but this video and others where he's promoting the Jesus thing just makes me sad. I'd never deny him his belief, but it's a great disappointment to see him attribute his recovery from depression to man made religion, and not his own inner strength.

I respected this guy until this delusional nonsense. Of course you'll feel "enlightened," you've subconsciously ascribed great qualities to an entity you've been indoctrinated into believing. Obviously you'll feel ethereal bliss and security. A good illustration of why this is nonsense, is how entire generations of people were never exposed to monotheism or its doctrine (see all of the civilizations pre-Abraham, and China post-Abraham). No perfect creator would allow this to happen.
