His rage form is built in to his super saiyan form. You can see the blue aura when he charges up or goes into sparking mode. I definitely think it should have been more obvious though.

I always theorized that the Future Trunks in Super is not the same one we knew. The DBZ anime had proven multiverse theory was a thing as far as Cell was concerned, where he went on to kill the Trunks from his timeline and steal his time machine. It could be as simple as this Trunks having experienced remarkably similar events when he went back in time to help Goku and his friends against the Androids, it's just that he himself looks different from the one we knew. Edit: I do know various sources including Toriyama himself had confirmed that DBZ Future Trunks and Super Future Trunks are one and the same.
Honestly, Trunks's first design was his best design. Love the colors on him? His dark blueish-purple jacket brings how his bright purple hair. His black pants make his belt and shoes stand out. Even the design of his sword is just plain better DBS Trunks eyes kinda puts me off, the pupils are too big, and his blue hair with his blue eyes and blue jacket. Not great. I think DBS Trunks does have the better Super Sayian hair in this Game though
In Super Hero, they also made Present Trunks' hair blue. It must have been important to someone that Trunks and Bulma have the same hair color, but the series was rushed into production, so they likely just used existing model sheets for Kid Trunks where he had the Purple hair.
Yeah. His original hair color was fine. Black pants and tanktop with the purple jacket goes SO well. Now he has bright blue hair, a red bandana, blue jacket with GREEN sword strap, it's all over the place. His fit was one the most stylish ones in DBZ.

It still makes ZERO (heh) sense to me that they gave Z Trunks the weird energy sword move as a super instead of Burning Attack. The energy sword is Super Trunks' thing and, as far as I've seen, Burning Attack isn't even in the game despite being one of Z Trunks' most iconic attacks.
Are you thinking about the heat dome attack? Which trunks did on cell. Z trunks has good moveset apart from his base ult which could be the ultimate masenko but they gave him a sword attack of super.

the hate for super trunks is insane considering z trunks was only cool 3 times. killed freeza, then he lost his sword, whined a lot, got made fun of by cell, then killed by cell. then he went back to his timeline and got cool again.
He killed Freeza and King Cold. Killed Future 17 18 and Cell, and then Prevented the entire Buu saga near singlehandedly.

Blue-haired Trunks was one of the worst design massacres I have seen in a while. And it just makes absolutely no sense, given the fact that Kid Trunks looks the same. Seriously, wtf was the reason for this?
I always theorized that the Future Trunks in Super is not the same one we knew. The DBZ anime had proven multiverse theory was a thing as far as Cell was concerned, where he went on to kill the Trunks from his timeline and steal his time machine. It could be as simple as this Trunks having experienced remarkably similar events when he went back in time to help Goku and his friends against the Androids, it's just that he himself looks different from the one we knew.
Edit: I do know various sources including Toriyama himself had confirmed that DBZ Future Trunks and Super Future Trunks are one and the same.
Honestly, Trunks's first design was his best design. Love the colors on him? His dark blueish-purple jacket brings how his bright purple hair.
His black pants make his belt and shoes stand out. Even the design of his sword is just plain better
DBS Trunks eyes kinda puts me off, the pupils are too big, and his blue hair with his blue eyes and blue jacket. Not great.

In Super Hero, they also made Present Trunks' hair blue. It must have been important to someone that Trunks and Bulma have the same hair color, but the series was rushed into production, so they likely just used existing model sheets for Kid Trunks where he had the Purple hair.

Yeah. His original hair color was fine. Black pants and tanktop with the purple jacket goes SO well. Now he has bright blue hair, a red bandana, blue jacket with GREEN sword strap, it's all over the place. His fit was one the most stylish ones in DBZ.

It still makes ZERO (heh) sense to me that they gave Z Trunks the weird energy sword move as a super instead of Burning Attack. The energy sword is Super Trunks' thing and, as far as I've seen, Burning Attack isn't even in the game despite being one of Z Trunks' most iconic attacks.

Are you thinking about the heat dome attack? Which trunks did on cell. Z trunks has good moveset apart from his base ult which could be the ultimate masenko but they gave him a sword attack of super.

Design wise, I think Z-Trunks looks much better. Aside from the blue hair, Super Trunks doesn’t look bad, but something about him looks off to me, especially when he goes super saiyan.
