I'm 49 and it took a good portion of my life to figure out that happiness is a choice. It's not a product of your surroundings. It's your own reaction to what happens around you. I'm not sure you can comprehend that unless you live there. We have a way of making excuses for our perspective and shift blame to things we do not control. Your analysis is spot on.

I was a single dad for like forever... I tried to teach this to my kids. I hope they learned it... you never really know if they listen or not ha ha 😀
