    This is a great video. I have been experimenting with HESK for the past three months. I tried setting it up to send and retrieve email, but it seems to be broke or I don't know what I'm doing.
    I tried getting people to use the help desk so I could keep our conversations organized, but it turns them off.
    When I looked at the free alternatives, I quickly dismissed fresh desk because it was cloud and I would lose everything if it failed. Your video changed my thinking.
    Thank you. I will be testing it out very soon.

    I like it, I have clients that always send me text messages and it is a nightmare to keep track of their requests. Now I have to get them to look at email.

      Oh that can be a trap. So easy for things to slip through the cracks. Email is great for a written record that is easily portable.

    This is a trial of the higher edition. I am curious if you think the free version (once the trial runs out) is adequate? Can it be used as a main help desk ticketing system? i believe the free version is called sprout.

    What you didn't mention is that there's a cap of 30 outbound emails per day in the free plan

      I don’t know, maybe because there isn’t a cap. I send hundreds of emails in a single day.

      @@WPCrafter Are you sure you are on the free plan? I just spoke to their customer support. They mentioned that there's a cap of 30 emails per agent per day. The restrictions will be removed after the upgrade

      I am on the free plan. I think you may be misunderstanding what that limitation is. It sure as heck is not related to responding to a ticket someone opens because I respond to hundreds of tickets per day.

      @@WPCrafter my bad. I confused the feature of outbound emails. Outbound emails are something initiated from our end. Replying to tickets has not limits. Thanks and apologies for bothering you Adam! Glad you replied. I almost removed it from my website after reading about the limitation

    Nice video Adam! There are not a lot of videos on Freshdesk so this resource is a welcome find. A time index would make the video easier to navigate and better organized. Have you had experience with Basecamp? I'm a #freelance WordPress web designer and I'm considering Freshdesk as a way to streamline communication between me (my sole employee) and my clients.     Hi, great video! I have a question: the emails sent via Freshdesk don't appear in my SENT mailbox on the hosting server. I only have the SMTP logs on the server... how can I have the actual emails appear in my SENT mailbox?

    Dude fresh desk aint free, they have a free trial for 21 days, find an open source solution dont pay for one

      It's free for life. I have been using it for months for free on their free plan, and I know people that have been on the free plan for years. It is free.

      I use HESK - www.hesk.com/ which is almost as good as freshdesk and zendesk but it's actually FREE

      It really is free - when you sign up for the free account they enable a 21 day trial on their top-end plan. After that, if you don't subscribe to that top plan, you revert to the plain free plan.

    Adam, are you still using FreshDesk or are you using LiveAgent? I like the seamless idea ... I am not sure LiveAgent has integration with Outlook or Gmial does it. Feel free to correct me. :)

      No, and I even talked about that in the video. It is free for life, I have been using it for months and I know people that have been using it for years. FREE, all discussed in the video.

    Love this! But how can we use this if our email is with Google GSuite? So my cPanel MX records are pointing to Google... so how would I setup DKIM? Or would this not be possible? Is there a way to make it work without setting up DKIM and setting up email forwarding directly in Gmail? Thanks Adam!

      Great question. So you have a DNS server for your domain name. It most likely is on your hosting account or where your domain name is registered. It is this DNS service which is directing all email stuff to Google Apps. So you just need to add these entries to the DNS records where they are stored. Now for me personally, I use Cloudflare for DNS. So my domain is pointed to Cloudflare where I direct things.

    The email setup you did, I don't think you can do that on the free plan. Your demo was whilst you were in the 21 day trial period so it was allowed (i.e. changing the email address). But in the free plan you cannot change the email address they assign you. However, all you need to do is the cPanel bit as you did it and simply forward emails sent to that email address on to the email address freshdesk gave you.

      You certainly can with the free plan. You can set 1 email that will be the reply to email address. On the paid plans you can have more then 1, the free plan you can have 1. In the video I was not changing the email address they assign, I was changing the one that shows as the sender, which will cause the ugly one they assign to change a bit.

    Hey Adam, love your video style. What app to you use to get the circle picture-in-picture video tutorial layout? Is it just a function of having a Mac, or can I do it on Windows?

      I have used different software over the years. Some of my videos I was using Camtasia but only the Mac version allows you to do it. All my videos for the last 10 months I've been using the live production software called vMix. VMix is a PC only software so I now have a Mac and a PC.

    Use Outlook 365, create categories and folders and done, no need to learn and/or spend time with more tech, use the technology that is already available and for you, one less headache. ;)

      @@OttoAkama Slap it in One Drive and Share it with Everyone in your org. Viewer rights only. Or the alternative is creating a network share, but then you'd need a vpn and access configuration.

    With respect, you have a lot of filler in your tutorial here. For me, I just want to learn how to use something. I had to do a lot of fast forwarding through useless descriptions to locate actual information on how to use this software. I mean no offense by this, I'm just trying to provide constructive criticism.
