    Thank you for this very indepth and informative video. I have been applying to PhD programs and have done 2 so far. I have about 3 left and I like how you portrayed the scrappy nature of the application process. I feel like I have a lot stacked against me, some poor performance and I don't have a thesis which is crucial. I do have other forms of writing but still feel a bit lacking in my application due to that. Anyway thank you for going through the process. It seems there is only one interview required for the PhD position if you are short listed? I also don't know what to say if I do reach out. What would I say that hasn't already been said in the personal statement/motivation letter?
