  • I decided to share how I am building my worldwide stamp album! I don't think I have done a video exactly like this before but figured it would be fun. I share my thoughts while we build the second Nazi section in this album. I enjoyed getting some work done and hope you enjoyed going through the motions with me!
    Thanks for watching! Consider liking and subscribing if you enjoy my content!

    Good afternoon, it's interesting to watch the process of creating an album with postcards. The topic of postcards is very interesting.

    Hawid mounts are designed to grip. Easy to move or examine the stamp. Shouldn't need to seal, but it's certainly your choice.

    I inherited my father's stamp collection last year. Haven't gone thru it yet and don't know what to make of it. I collect coins so will be watching more vids on stamps to gain knowledge in this hobby.

    HAHA! Yes, the B&M stamps from '39-40 are a ROYAL pain in the butt! I had to make a separate page for them because my Scott Vol 1 didn't have the spaces! I'll have to look to see what else I put on that page. Subscribed.

    Suggestion for adding those stamp pages to those clear plastic sleeves...place a sheet of plain paper over the page of stamps first, then insert...et voila...it will slide right in...then simply pull the plain paper out!

    I think you should do a video on how you catalog your collection i.e how do you know what you have and need? Are you using excel or another app/program. What do you take with you to expos where you are hunting multiple countries? Printouts? Do you design them yourself of use simple numbering or annoted old scott catalogs?

  • @GreatStampAdventure
    @GreatStampAdventure 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Thanks for the video, Kyle. Excellent! Your album is really beautiful. I think organizing the stamps is almost rather obligatory in a way. Our eyes/brain want to see order, and one gets much more information from an ordered collection than from a chaotic, random one, and it looks much more pleasing. Thank you for showing all the steps in your procedure. I for one really learns a lot from your process, and it helps to plan for your own way to do it. ... I don't know if I already asked - cannot remember 😆 - where do you buy the stock cards, and do you know more or less how much they cost? I could not find the same in New Zealand so far.

    • @KylesStamps

      Thank you! I was buying the 107B HECO stock cards in bulk of 1000 on eBay back in 2020. I was buying from wizardcoinsupply - who is a great resource on eBay for stamp collecting supplies, check out his store. I don't currently see a listing for the stock cards I like which are 107B, but, I did find another listing that is comparable to what I bought though they are a different brand:

      I did see from wizard a listing for the 107's but they are white background card called 107A:
      www.ebay.com/itm/115421798442?hash=item1adface02a:g:8QYAAOSwakpipauf&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwGUHvTHRqyygu9hJpbbLX0t6fO5XxDT8QZ7m2XwWKsVoCwkQCLtvCUN3Zm7ryU2Yd2ql6vOof8mYQKYY6JubpA9CzroPJ472j8fKcPXX5VKgt9RNqDs96D9MlN%2B7q%2B%2F42457RjQgMJY8dKP83EEObd%2BwCv1b%2BdTboW9hgZ5%2F%2FRilmsAt66uNVhYRACkg89fcFNC%2FKXAzAZQqCRqVS8tC%2Fw%2F%2FBJKcFjsf21A%2BG6KJO1Y3obxYkI7Ry170PKY%2B%2BPEAOg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5KZ2bzHYg
      Still to this day, 3 years later, I have not run out of the first 1000 I bought, probably because I re-use them!

    as a complete newbie can I ask what you are attaching the stamps to the pages with? Before you put them in the protective page sleeves.

    • @KylesStamps
      @KylesStamps  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those pages are from a collection I bought. The other collector stuck them to the pages with "stamp hinges". Hinging stamps devalues them and is considered an older practice from former generations. If possible it is much better to stick them to pages using "stamp mounts" instead so the gum on the back of the stamp doesn't get ruined.

    can anyone tell me how to collect these it so good

  • @patiencezero-xc9zl
    @patiencezero-xc9zl 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Certainly do not recommend sealing mounts......too easy contaminate the stamps with adhesive or worse.....actually seal the mounts and allow humidity or moisture to accumulate. Never have seen anyone do that, and Iikely for good reason.

    • @KylesStamps
      @KylesStamps  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I first got the pen I watched videos about it and learned to do that from someone else. Over time, I've moved away from completely sealing them only because it's probably not entirely necessary. The pages in this album are huge, curved, heavy and flimsy so I felt safer having evertyhing as securely mounted as possible.

    see the nazi sign hankenkruez is different from swastika . 1 st thing is that one sign of evil other sign of peace. but people now days think they are same no another thing is that it looks similar but it is not that same thing. also have dots but that nazi sign dosent have anything like that

  • @le_med
    @le_med 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I would not have done this like that at all. I think this is a little amateurish and you would have had better results in a stockbook until you had proper printed positions for the stamps and also you would have spent less time with a stockbook and little paper notes for each stamp number and years. But I'm comparing this with a high end collection so that s why I am biased. Thanks for sharing

      One last tip:
      Just bought copy of the _2022 US/BNA Postage Stamp Catalog( (H. E. Haris -- published by Whitman), which has an extensive stamp identifier. Included is a full page about the Franklin and Washington Issues of 1908-22 -- the green and red you dismissed as worthless.
      There are 11 varieties of the 1 cent Franklin, and 12 (or 32) of the 2 cent Washington.
      There is an additional pictorial breakdown of the 2 cent Washington varieties.
