So my story is a little different. My Wife bought me my first video game when she was carrying our first son, I was 45. Fast forward 10 years and I played Pokémon with my 10 and 8 year olds on Switch, for X MAS they bought my Skyrim...and that changed everything - bought a console and played it again and again...my players name a mash up of my 2 sons :). Now, many games/years later, I have the opportunity to play Oblivion with them, very blessed.
I read yesterday the whole sheet was backwards because someone accidentally showed it…if you search you can see the date (backwards) says 5202\22\40…today
My older brother who is no longer with us showed me this game back in 2006 as my first introduction to gaming, I can’t wave to dive back in and play for him, this one is for you Carlos!

I need a combat mod for this game asap, my only complaint is with the clunky blocking and swinging. Feel like they should have upgraded it a step further rather than just turn combat to skyrim

I find it somehow abhorrent that they have no trouble reusing Jeremy's OST while abandoning him and cussing him out. Soule is 60% what made the ES games great, 30% is mods.
me and a buddy of mine picked up oblivion and fallout 3 to play on deployment, both of us bought a laptop that can play games(that was a thing at one point) i played oblivion 95% of the time, my sgt gave me an "order" one day to spend the entire shift picking flowers in the game, it was the only flowers any of us seen in months

no, affordable laptops couldnt play games, even mid range laptops had trouble, the mid to lower end laptops had really low power consumption, you needed a decently mid or high end laptop to play games without any trouble, ANYTHING you got at walmart or circuit city wouldnt run modern-at-time games out of the box,
This was one of the first games I picked up when I got back from my first deployment to Iraq. Bought a ps3 and a boat load of games, spending over a thousand dollars in one trip to GameStop with my deployment money I saved up. (It Might’ve still been EB games back then)

As much as TES Morrowind and Oblivion were my first RPG's as a kid, I can't justify the remastered being $60. Especially after watching streamers play it for a few hours now, just nostalgia alone doesn't justify that pricepoint for a 12 year old remaster. Definitely waiting for it to go on sale.

I'm older, 38. I remember getting this back in college for my Xbox 360 with the big Deluxe edition box and getting lost in it. I have naturally moved around several times since college and lost the original game and box. I don't buy games at release 95% of the time, but this is downloading as I type this. It’s a core memory from the earliest moments of my adult life.

It is indeed crazy. My Steam account turned 20 last year (20th anniversary of Half Life 2), then my favorite online RPG Guild Wars 1 had its 20th anniversary, and now this. Oblivion was something I looked forward to on my last year of high school in 2005, eagerly awaiting its March 20th, 2006 release.
Too f'n cool, never thought I'd see my favorite RPG of all time get some love and get a remaster. This game helped me through a very dark time in my life. Oblivion was a place to get away from all of the unpleasantness of life. Thank you Bethesda.

I first bought and played Oblivion on launch day for the Xbox 360. March 20, 2006. It came out the day before my first son was born. I even brought the Xbox 360 to the hospital while we waited for him because there was nothing to do. I never thought a Bethesda trailer would make me cry but here we are.
Tears! I am in tears! Thank you so much! Oblivion isn't just my favourite game of all time, it's the game that made me fall in love with RPG's. It was the first game I got every achievement for. My first true gaming obsession. I was 13 when I first woke up in that jail cell. I'm 31 now. And seeing this trailer brought it all back for me! Again, thank you!

I first played Oblivion in 2010 on a laptop that barely worked. Lowest settings, 20ish frames per second... Good times. Time to torture my 10 year old PC when I get home.
This is a remaster! Not just setting the graphics/visuals to max graphics and slapping 60 fps on it! I hope this sets a new standard for future remasters

This game has a permanent spot in my memory when I was a teen. Seeing this again just jogged my memories of rushing home from school to play it literally all day. It's really been 20 years?
For me as well, I remember upgrading our PCs with my friends back in secondary school. We saw the graphic progress and literally thought that those faces are just like "exactly cut out from a newspaper"... I spent hundreds of hours in the game, however Morrowind will still have a #1 spot from TES series.. closing gate after gate in Oblivion just was not the same, but the other stuff was brilliant, especially the Sword-Spell gameplay, I loved that style of playing with weapon in one hand and spell in the other
I spent hundreds of hours in this game, mostly spent stealing cheese wheels and bread to make potions & dodging every main quest possible, and the game is still in my top 5 games ever... even though you could make the argument that I've never actually played it. Amazing game
I had a whole campaign of me avoiding the main quest so I could join the brotherhood, sneaking into the imperial palace etc etc, soooo good when games dont railroad you
I played it since i was a little guy too! So before skyrim was released, i was very happy when skyrim first released because of the graphics too! I can't wait to see the beauty of the shivering isles!
Oblivion was the first game I ever played on the Xbox 360, all those years ago. I can hardly believe after almost 20 years I get to set foot back into cyrodiil and relive the joy I felt almost two decades ago as a child . I haven't been this excited about a game dropping since Red Dead Redemption back in 2018. Pour one out for all the homies who didn't make it to see this day.
I will not spoil anything - but some of the side quests are insanely well done & I wish I could experience them for the first time again (if you know you know), enjoy :)
It's better than Skyrim. I spent every single day of summer 2006, 4 whole months, playing it from 8 to 5 and then going outside to ride a bike a little. :) It was the best summer. Just after getting my bachelor degree.

It came out the day before my first son was born.
I even brought the Xbox 360 to the hospital while we waited for him because there was nothing to do.

For me as well, I remember upgrading our PCs with my friends back in secondary school. We saw the graphic progress and literally thought that those faces are just like "exactly cut out from a newspaper"...
I spent hundreds of hours in the game, however Morrowind will still have a #1 spot from TES series.. closing gate after gate in Oblivion just was not the same, but the other stuff was brilliant, especially the Sword-Spell gameplay, I loved that style of playing with weapon in one hand and spell in the other

Oblivion was the first game I ever played on the Xbox 360, all those years ago. I can hardly believe after almost 20 years I get to set foot back into cyrodiil and relive the joy I felt almost two decades ago as a child . I haven't been this excited about a game dropping since Red Dead Redemption back in 2018. Pour one out for all the homies who didn't make it to see this day.

It's better than Skyrim. I spent every single day of summer 2006, 4 whole months, playing it from 8 to 5 and then going outside to ride a bike a little. :) It was the best summer. Just after getting my bachelor degree.
