بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ
[2] When the Stars are scattered;
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
[3] When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth;
وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
[4] And when the Graves are turned upside down;-
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
[5] (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back.
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ
[6] O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?-
الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
[7] Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias;
فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ
[8] In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together.
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ
[9] Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment!
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ
[10] But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,-
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ
[11] Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds):
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
[12] They know (and understand) all that ye do.
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
[13] As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss;
وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ
[14] And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire,
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
[15] Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment,
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ
[16] And they will not be able to keep away therefrom.
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
[17] And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?
ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
[18] Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ
[19] (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.

It is not the power of the reciters, it is the power of Allah’s (God’s) words that effects us physically and spiritually. Of course every voice has its unique tone, but then it would be just like other songs, if it wasn’t Qur’an, wouldn’t be so powerful! That power comes from the words of the ONE and only ONE!

Just to clarify, This man is not singing but reciting God’s words (Allah’s words) from the Quran. These words are indeed the most POWERFUL WORDS as they come from GOD himself. For that reason you will find that it helps us all with anxiety, depression, Loneliness, mental health, positive effect, improve our ability of the brain and so much more!!!
Everyone should read or listen to GOD’S book (Quran) at least once in their lifetime.

Sheikh Abdul Basit died during the late 1980s. Fortunately we have video of his amazing recitations. Of course, he had the Quran memorized at an early age, probably by age 8 or 9 or earlier, and began recitations a few years thereafter. You mentioned your reaction to hearing the Sheikh, but I might add that he brings tears of joy to the eyes of many, decades after his death and via his videos. There are other greats. Amongst my favorites is Mishari in Rashid al-Afasy. He is particularly effective with English translator Ibrahim Walk. There are several from Turkey that are utterly amazing, especially with an accompanying Sufi ensemble.

9 ـ لا يجلد أحدكم امرأته جلد العبد،ثم لعلّه يعانقها ويجامعها في آخر اليوم. (حديث صحيح) صحيح البخاري
10 ـ ثلاثة لا تتجاوز صلاتهم آذانهم: العبد الآبق حتى يرجع، وامرأة باتت وزوجها عليها ساخط.. (حديث حسن ) ابن ماجة
11 ـ لو كنت آمرا أحدا أن يسجد لأحد لأمرت المرأة أن تسجد لزوجها ، والذي نفس محمد بيده لا تؤدي المرأة حق ربها حتى تؤدي حق زوجها ولو سألها نفسها وهي على قتب لم تمنعه! . (حديث حسن) ابن ماجة والترمذي
12 ـ والذي نفسي بيده: لو كان من قدمه إلى مفرق رأسه قرحة تنجس بالقيح والصديد . ثم استقبلته تلحسه ما أدت حقه. (حديث صحيح) احمد
13 ـ أيما امرأة سألت زوجها طلاقا في غير ما بأس فحرام عليها رائحة الجنة! . (حديث صحيح) أبو داود
14 ـ لا ينظر الله إلى امرأة لا تشكر لزوجها , وهي لا تستغني عنه! .(حديث صحيح ) في الصحيحين
15 ـ إذا دعا الرجل امرأته لفراشه , فأبت أن تجيء فبات غضبانا عليها , لعنتها الملائكة حتى تصبح (حديث صحيح ) صحيح البخاري
16 ـ أيما امرأة ماتت وزوجها راض عنها دخلت الجنة! (حديث حسن) الترمذي
17 ـ مثل المرأة الصالحة بين النساء مثل الغراب الأعصم بين مئة غراب. (حديث) الطبراني
18 ـ يا معشر النساء، تصدَّقن فإني أُريتكم أكثر أهل النار (حديث صحيح) البخاري ومسلم
19 ـ النساء ناقصات عقل ودين. (حديث صحيح) متفق عليه
20 ـ ما تركت فتنة أضر على الرجال من النساء. (حديث مرفوع) البخاري ومسلم
21 ـ إذا كان الشؤم في شيء؛ ففي الفرس والمرأة والمسكن. (حديث صحيح) الصحيحين
22 ـ يقطع الصلاة المرأة والحمار والكلب. (حديث صحيح) مسلم
23 ـ إذا تزوّج أحدكم أو اشترى خادماً..الخ (حديث صحيح) ابي داوود والنسائي
24 ـ إنما النكاح رق فلينظر أحدكم أين يرق عتيقته. (حديث مرفوع) البيهقي في السنن الكبرى
25 ـ استأخرن فإنه ليس لكن أن تحققن الطريق. (حديث صحيح) ابو داوود
26 ـ لن يفلح قوم ولّوا أمرهم امرأة . (حديث صحيح ) البخاري في المغازي : 82
27 ـ خير نسائكم الولود الودود . (حديث صحيح) أبو داود في النكاح : 3،
28 ـ إن من يمن المرأة تيسير خطبتها وتيسير صداقها وتيسير رحمها . (حديث صحيح) احمد
29 ـ المرأة خلقت من ضلع أعوج، فإن أقمتها كسرتها فدارها تعش بها .(حديث صحيح ) مسلم
30 ـ أيما امرأة نكحت بغير إذن وليها فنكاحها باطل! فإن دخل بها فلها المهر بما استحل من فرجها فإن اشتجروا فالسلطان وليّ من لا وليّ له. (حديث صحيح) احمد وابو داوود
31 ـ لا يجوز عطية امرأة في مالها إلا بإذن زوجها (حديث صحيح ) النسائي
32 - أكثر أهل النار النساء: يكفرن العشير، ويكفرن الإحسان (حديث صحيح) البخاري
