Nicely done. I'm liking the can-do spirit of this channel.

Brilliant! Great idea , Karl, a winner! I once used a lilo on the car roof , with some luggage straps and brought two doors home from Homebase, it never even moved.👍

What a great idea! the big flat surface area would totally protect the roof... nice! 😀👍

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner it was desperation , Karl, I had the lilo in the boot and luggage straps, had just bought the doors and it was the only way to get them home 😉

Karl. You are definitely more than just a cleaner. Nice one. After that journey will you still add straps to the rear end.

Cheers Ken... For short distances with perhaps no more than a 40mph speed limit I probably would leave the ends untethered. However, for longer journeys at higher speeds (60mph,) in the interests of safety, I would still lash the ends down 👍😁

As Karl says, I do indeed have that one and for the price it has been a fantastic hammock. It supports my current bulky weight of 17 stone, plus the pooch and is comfy and well made. I sleep like a baby in it. :-)

I think that this is fine for a lightweight inflatable kayak, but a heavier hard-shell kayak could dent the roof if the tubes are not placed over a reinforced section of the roof. They sell foam blocks that serve the same purpose as the tubing, but they are more expensive. You could also use what we call pool noodles in the US. Anyway, thanks to Karl for another helpful video!

I'm inclined to agree. I only paddle inflatables so I'm pitching this video more at that market 👍😁 thanks for watching and adding to the knowledge 👍

I bought an inflatable roof rack. I used it once and it went back into the box never to be used again. The metal of my roof flexing and banging was enough to put me off. No permanent dents but I figured it was only a matter of time so i bought a solid roof rack that bolted into the track on the roof and never regretted it. I really should sell the inflatable one off.

That's weird Mark. I never had any issues other than when I took the boat of and it vibrated a bit over 50mph. I did stop and remove it at that point. But it's foam, it couldn't have done any damage to metal.

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Yeah it was just the roof flexing I think as the boat caught the air a bit but not sure. I've looked on line since and only found a few others saying the same thing but not many. Maybe just a thing with certain makes and model of car? No idea to be fair.
