That's what I need to do is get some of my riding mowers repaired. I only have about 11 left. I used to buy and repair for resale. My oldest is a 1981 Montgomery Wards 30" cut had a 8 HP B&S after that motor blew up I took the 12 HP out of my 87 Craftsman and put it in. Put a 18 HP in the craftsman. I like repairing these mowers. Some are really simple to work on and get running. Need to check out V Belt supply for belts they are cheaper but the S&H can be high.
Great information, I just picked up the twin to that, he bought it new took it home and parked it in the garage and it never moved until I got it at the estate sale. I have 3 other old Sears tractors but this one stands out. Thanks again, I'm subbed.
Great video! Thanks for sharing your work on that spark conversion over to the newer style. That's good to know, I may do that myself if I run into issues with my super 12 special. I have a spare oh-160 under the bench and I had no idea those parts are able to go on the older style hh100-120
nice work man! try to share part numbers of the parts/links you use or buy to help everyone get these machines running 👍 .. i had to do the same mod for the carb too.. keep up the good work!
love the video, thank you for the info. i just picked up this same tractor, gave er a whirl today and seems like it's not spinning fast enough. i've done some googling and they say i should open the starter and clean it up, do you have any experience with this?
Thanks. Those engines have an internal compression release, they can get stuck sometimes from sitting a long time. Once you get it going itll start better, However its not a bad idea to open up the starter and clean it. As long as you can get it back together, there a little tricky sometimes.
My most recent purchase was a 69 Suburban 12. The transmission case leaks pretty bad. But it runs and doesn't smoke like my 68 does. Any words of advice on the transmission leak?

I'm always excited when one of these old tractors fires up after years of sitting and not being used. It's like it's been brought back to life!!

Love this particular model
*SENSATIONAL*
Those old Craftsman Suburban's were built like tanks. I am wondering if the blue one is an SS15 with a Briggs and Stratton?
That one is a suburban 15

I have a 74 with a LMH-1A Walbro and I can't find anything to replace the carberator. Do you know if there is China carbie that would work?
My grandpa has an ss14 or an ss15
