I feel if you are a good Dj you should be known as a good solid Dj. I feel like people should not shame you if you are a Dj but not a producer. I feel if you are a good Dj and you can keep a show going and keep people coming to your event or your club then you should keep them there, producer or not because a lot of producers are not good technical djs and don’t know how to drive a crowd or have the skills to make creative mixes. But I feel if there is a good Dj at a big club and he is a solid good Dj that can keep a crowd and keep people coming back he deserves that gig whether or not he is a producer
Hi Jordan, we totally agree with you. Of Course being a great DJ is about craftsmanship, and you will get more gigs by delivering high quality. This is the way we build our careers ourselves and the reason we got so many residencies at clubs, making a (good) lliving our of it. And yes, very often producers are not great DJ's because a different (social) skill set is required to be a DJ. We feel a great DJ ' deserves' more success than a great entrepreneur, but the fact is that you need to be both to reach the top level today, meaning playing at the big clubs and festivals. The reason is that there are so many more DJ's that standing out with an original 'sound' has become essential.
