    The Ford is a KA, as others have already said.
    The small VW near the end is an UP!, and the truck is a Volvo FH16-750, so it's using a 16,1 liter inline6 (no V8, only Scania does these nowadays) with 750 hp and 3550 Nm (over 2600 ft lbs) of torque. Quite a monster, even the strongest (regular) Scania V8 have (a little) less power than the FH16-750.
    But the cabin of the truck isn't as big as it seems, they have a tower with tanks (because there's no room between the axles) and some other equipment behind the cabin. Cabin without the heavy-hauler-tower should be a regular Globetrotter XL cabin. So yeah, it's quite big for a euro truck, but not comparable to the sleepers on americans semis.
    I think the axles of the trailer can be steered independently, otherwise they wouldn't be able to maneuvre it around the sharp corners.

      There is just one thing that's wrong, and that is that Scanias V8 is the strongest regular truck with 770 hp and 3700nm here in Europe.

    The Yellow Mercedes van is the escort vehicle, they have to keep the road clear for the transport and regulate traffic, the model is called Vito here in Europe.

      @@simbob26 The Vito has been invented in the US as METRIS, for the marketing division at Mercedes-Benz said that Vito could be referred with Vito Corleone and they wanted to avoid that. But the Metris is not 100% a Vito. In Europe it is available with diffent wheelbases anf heights, in US only one. Also in Europe there are different (diesel) engines, in US only one 208PS gasoline engine. And the dashboard has been modified, including 2 big cupholders 🤣

    In the past few decades infrastructure changes have been made throughout the Netherlands to dissuade trucks from going into residential areas (because of air pollution & because a truck has many blind spots which is dangerous around kids) unfortunately for some truckers this means that they will have to do some very difficult maneuvering when they do need to be inside a residential area

      City planners really need to be kicked in the butt. They dont think. In Oslo they did some road rebuild for the only access route to one of the main train cargo stations in Oslo, where of course big trucks are the road transport part. And the idiots planning (and building) the whole thing made a roundabout that non of the trucks can fit through. So yeah, all trucks just drive straight over it like its some silly designed speedbump 😂

      J'ai fait un travail différent de celui d'urbaniste, j'étais géomètre (I don't know the word in english), mais beaucoup de réglementations stupides viennent des maires, des États, et de l'U.E. La plupart des gens qui eux font vraiment le travail sont obligés de se conformer à des règlementations parfois complètement stupides et hors de tout bon sens.
      Les réglementations sont trop souvent pondues par des idéologues, pas par des professionnels qui connaissent les vrais problèmes.

    A lot of my family have been in heavy haulage for years so I have been around it a fair bit and the technology changes over the years has been incredible.
    Each axle being individually controlled for steering and level height even propelled modular units it’s incredible.
    A lot of the time the big and long loads can be easier to get round corners than standard trucks

      Yes as a Brit I can most definitely testify honest this was tight in places but the UK back lanes laugh at this
      Seen UK tractors with single trailer with less space and tighter lanes if ya get me they definitely have patience in resivour's

      This truck/trailer/driver does this every day, expensive stuff and it must work to pay its self out.
      After years of work this becomes routine and quite normal. Sometimes you scratch a car or fence, and for that you have insurance.
      Does not matter how strange or hard it looks, for people doing this is routine and normal.
      Faymonville, Goldhofer, Mammoet, Bertoja, Volvo, Scania, Liebherr, Tadano and others are main contributors to our daily bread.

      But do feel extra sorry for the UK drivers & crews and others in the same situation but some of our infrastructure is almost impossible
      Almost like it's designed to make it impossible, making some real awesome spectacles
      But it's that noticeable when it happens it seems more normal so less people have interest there is hardly any that show on TH-cam because they are so far down the viwed list but some of the most amazing crews and equipment are needed at times
      The three of the worlds largest hydrogen generators worldwide that where delivered to oil refineries in the UK was the most recent example
      Of next level
      it's mind blowing to think that normal to anybody but for them crews doing this a few times a month wow just wow

      @@madyottoyotto3055 I live and work in area that has infrastrukture simillar to UK, maybe worse.
      What was considered crazy and unthinkable 15 years ago is now new normal and routine.
      Hydro turbines, tower cranes, windmill blades, generator poles, vartsilla engine crank, bridge sections, grid transformers.... does not matter if no one saw it on you tube, all have power when plug something in outlet, all cross that bridge when go on vacation, maybe it is sopposed to be that way.

    Steering the rear axle of the trailer is now a standard on most combinations. it reduces wear on the tires and makes it easier for them to take tight turns.

    One thing rarely mentioned is the route planning needed.
    When they moved windmill parts, 95 meter long close to me, they asked 8 months before to take down some trees and widen the road in a pair of tight bends.

    Volvo c40 - volvos new smallish car - full electric or hybrid - very good. Little car in front, is a size below the Ford Fiesta. Called the Ford Ka. Not made anymore

    I have worked for (mostly) German haulers all of my working life. And don't get me wrong, German truckers probably are one of the best in the world in general, but the Dutch are outstanding. Now, to do a job like that, you need many many years of experience and a good team around you. You can't just rock up in a residential neighborhood like the one in the vid and try figuring it out by yourself. Well, you can try, i guess, but i guarantee, it will be the first and last time you try pulling a stunt like that...also, you better be insured really really really well😂😂😂

    This truck is a Volvo FH16-750 (16 litre engine, with 750 hp. 10x4 (5 axles, 2 driven axles with hub reduction (you can see that by the bigger hubs than by a normal truck) the extra length behind the cabin is not an extra long sleeper, bottom part is a fuel tank and a lot of storage for the chains, etc. (If you watch carefully you can see the tank behind the cabin)
    Sometimes a combination so long is steered with a remote control seperatly from the truck.. I don’t
    know if that’s used in this example.
    Cool feature, the FH16 models (regardless equipped for heavy haulage or not) have black headlights (normal FH13 (13 litre engines) have the normal headlights. And (when not painted) a different color grille.

    The last articulated truck I drove in the mid 90's delivering steel gas pipe was a 6X4 Volvo Globetrotter. Seemed tall, like driving an apartment block from the penthouse.

    That "Focus" or "Fiesta" is Ford Ka, so many people in Slovakia and Czechia call it Fordka, because we add so often "ka" to the smaller things.

    I stand in awe of every Truck driver, it is such a hard and stressful job. But Heavy Duty Truck Drivers are specialists in their own right. It is a class of it's own.

    Your "nice street" remark is interesting, as I've heard similar things from my American friends and other youtubers. One of the important mechanisms used for safety in the Netherlands (and many other European countries) is to make the street/road environment indicative of the expected/required car speeds, something I'm told is not common in many (all?) parts of the USA. Pure residential areas, like this one, have cobbled streets deliberatly to make driving "feel fast". This type of road (in NL) is almost always a 30 zone (30 km/h) and driving faster than 30 starts to feel uncomfortable quickly. Even without signage (or GPS info) it's usually relatively easy to guess the speed limit of a road simply by it's type of surface and general environment.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they did the first bit backwards specifically because it's easier to manoeuvre that way. Once the truck is clear of the side street it can steer in the opposite direction.

    They can steer the trailer independently from the truck with a remote control.
    Steering axls on trailers are pretty common on trailers in the Netherlands and the standard on heavy haulage trailers. The US military have also bought Broshuis heavy haulage trailers recently. With steering axls.

    The little one is a Ford Ka.
    It had also an evil twin, the Ford Streetka.
    Which was a Ka as convertible with available hard top. A small 1,100 kg car with 95 HP.
    Ford really advertised it as that.
    But only 37.000 were build of it.
    From the first generation of the Ford Ka, ford built over 1.5 million.

    I'm a long time Heavy Haul/Oversize guy, hauling mega weight loads on as many as 14 or 15 axles with multiple pivot points. It can be a challenge at times, but a lot of planning and skill is involved. That trailer is really nice, 5 turning axles makes things a whole lot easier, but some of the spots I've had to get these heavy loads into would scare a lot of drivers. Heavy haul guys are the best of the best, and we get paid accordingly.

      Here in NL you wouldn't see 15 axles a lot. We have really high axlewheights compared to other countries, especially the USA. Multiple pivid point we don't have either with heavy haul bc all the axles steer there is no need for it. I just te drive a 5axle V8 scania with a 7 axle trailer (2 in the front, 5 in the back) I had a permit for 270T with that. When loaded i did need 1 pilot car off the highways but that made it a lot easier bc the pilot is the one steering the back axles by remote. Most of these trailers have electric/hydrollic steering. On the highway and normal roads it steers automatic (under 40km/h above that it almost didn't steer) euro trucks and trailers are far ahead of the amarican ones for heavy haul (and even the normal trailers are)

      @@larsmeijerink5471 The big difference here in the US is that the laws differ from state to state, with weight per axle limits and such, not to mention the required permits and routing, it would be much simpler to have uniform laws, but that isn't the case. Then there's the difference in equipment, I drive a 4 axle Western Star 49x (not much usage here for twin-steer tractors unless they're mostly off highway use, mine has a self-steering pusher axle that I can lift if not needed. My tractor has a 22,000lb capacity front axle, 22,000lb pusher and 54,000lb full locking rear axles, power is from a Special Service X15 Cummins Performance Series running to an Eaton-Fuller 18 speed transmission and a 4 speed auxiliary for off-road use. Those steerable trailers are here too, but not that many, I've only used one a few times, so the European equipment is a bit ahead of ours, the tractors, maybe not, because this Western Star is a beast. We did have some Scania V8's about 18-30 years ago, and they were great trucks, but for whatever reason Scania doesn't import them here any more. Most of our tractors here now are Automatics, but the Eaton-Fuller 18 speed is still probably the best transmission for on-off highway use, which is what I mostly do.

      @@thomaskirk9341 scania stopped that bc of the USA laws. They cant get them imported anymore. Axle wheights can differ in each country here but max axle wheights are mostly the same. That truck can for sure be a beast, im not doubtful about that but the tech is old and not used anymore in europe. If you look at braking a USA truck has lower airpresure then us (we have 188psi) and its really hard to jackknife if even possible. Stopping distance is the same empty and fully loaded and at 8m/sec its pretty much faster then the US ones. Braking on a wet road in a turn is no problem here. Also we require to have more lights (amber blinkers on the trailer, back up lights, fog lights, etc) thats why we have a 13pin connection for just the lights and accessories (like batteries, work lights strobes, etc) we also require to have EBS on trucks and trailer witch makes the brakes strong enough to almost be as fast as a normal car. We also use disc brakes on everything so hot brakes aren't really a thing. Overall europe has a lot more hight difference then the USA, the usa is pretty flat compared to europe. Also the fact our roads are a lot smaller makes the need for trucks are as safe as they are. If you would import a USA truck in to europe you would have to change the brakes on them to get the specs needed. 90% are automated manuals here. Its mostly done for fuel efficiency (diesel at 11usd/gallon, gas at 15usd/g)

      @@larsmeijerink5471 That's too bad, because I really liked the Scania. I get a new tractor about every 18 months, and my current one is a 2023 model, it has all full disc brakes, AEB, blind spot cams I have more LED's and LED strobes than you could count (not really, but if you miss this truck at night, you probably shouldn't be driving). I'd say for most normal tractors probably at least 70% are automatics, but there are license restrictions, if a driver tests on an automatic tractor, he gets a restriction for only automatics. So, if a guy breaks down and the rental company brings him a replacement tractor with a manual, he can't legally drive it. The biggest difference is that the European tractors are almost all cabovers, while in the US you rarely see a cabover, all the tractors are with hoods. The other big difference is that most European trucks are speed governed, in the US some companies govern their trucks, but most do not, and mine will run a higher speed than I'd care to run, on most major highways I usually set the cruise at between 72-75mph (116-120kph), but it will run much faster. Better to be safe, blowing a 445 steer tire at a high speed could get very messy.

      @@thomaskirk9341 all those strobes are not allowed here. You can have strobes and need them for heavy haul stuff, but to many will blind ppl and therefore is not allowed. The the notification on the licence its the same here but also for cars. Is you do you lessons and test in a automatic you only can drive a automatic car and truck. Most ppl do get a manual licence tho bc automatic cars aren't a big thing here(there are getting more and more now) for the speeds, yes they are limited but thats it has to by law. Most countries has 80km/h max. And its true most are cabavers but that also has to do with law. A hood truck is way to long for our roads amd you wouldn't get far in them we have max lenth for the Intire truck and not just for the trailer as you probably know our roads are a lot smaller here and turns aren't made for trucks. 90% of all amarican truck drivers wouldn't get far in europe. We call them steering wheel holders😅🤣 dont take it personally, but thats the overall few we have

    The two cars. The first was a Ford Ka. If you want to know more, you have to search on Wikipedia after Ford Germany. The second car (the red one) was a VW Up!. Yes, "Up!". The Mercedes-Benz van. You can become it with a car like interior. Then it is called V class. In the form of a work van it is called Vito.

    I have a cousin who drove a concrete truck in Cornwall. Told me that he had to deliver a load to the harbour at Mevagissey, the only way he could get round the near-right-angle corner in the lane leading to the harbour, when leaving, was backwards. (Of course his truck didn't have steerable rear wheels).

    The small car in front of it is 1st gen Ford Ka
    I believe Mercedes Vito van is Pilot car/Escort vehicle. You even have them in Euro Truck Sim 2 in Heavy Cargo Pack DLC
    Judging by the headlights on the truck, it's between 2012-2019 model year

    The reason they are backing in is because of how they will offload the crane.
    The truck will drive forwards from under it.
    Here's a quick video that shows this, along with how the crane goes from several truckloads of parts to a working crane.
    Not all cranes can "self assemble", some need another crane to help, but the overall process is generally the same.

    Love watching these big boys manoeuvre 👌👌 That Ford was the Ford Ka bro. It was one of their small 'city' car experiments or something like that. We got them in New Zealand as well. Even though they rallied them, they seemed like plastic shopping carts so I didn't want to know much about them then, or now 🤣🤣

    seeing how they are backing up onto a wider road and that it's for demolition... I'd assume that they went into the area for a demolition job (forwards) and after the job was done they had to get out in reverse since they couldn't turn around.

    They like to use vans as escort cars for oversized loads here. The reason: The truck driver has his sleeper cab and his bunk behind the seats for when they have to stop for rest (often oversized loads are only allowed to be transported at night or on weekends, when there is less traffic). The crew of the escort van sleeps in their van. Its interior often resembles a recreational vehicle with a bunk, cooking facility and a fridge.

    The weird looking Ford is a KA. For some reason I have never figured out. Was to get a Fiesta floor pan. The put a smaller body on it.

    On the other side of the scale are trucks the size of an American ambulance but with a Euro truck cab. Kind of like a Euro truck someone put in the dryer. I drove one in city center Amsterdam, supplying bars and restaurants. Ancient, narrow streets, with tons of pedestrians and cyclists, and having to go into pedestrian only zones made it a very interesting experience.

    this is a dutch truck in Netherlands and maybe it's the same like in Germany: the yellow vehicle you see in the left corner in 4:36 is
    a "Begleitfahrzeug 2 / BF 2", an "accompany vehicle". BF 1 are only to support and BF 2 have signal color paintings with red & white
    stripes PLUS orange lights on top that shine 360 ° all around to give other traffic a fair warning that heavy, oversized or dangerous
    load shows up and to may way for them

    The Caterpillar 390F it's transporting is cool by itself. I read a comment that it's transported in 4 segments and can put itself together without help of an external crane. Bloody internet is full of the thing demolishing things but I can't find a single video of it putting itself together.

    I think you are right about the Volvo - maybe a C40? I'm pretty sure the little Ford is a Ford Ka. They used to sell them in Australia. The little VW loos like an Up! to me.

    They are doing s bend turns (going back and forward) you do this in your car in tight spaces to shift it closer to one side to get out

    truck drivers in the Nettherlands are proud of their truck. Most of them are from companies but there are also a lot private owners most of them wash their truck every day you can do what you want with the truck but its not yours to mod extremeley.

    I live in France that is the Ford Ka, but we do have the Citroën cube a very small electric car coming state side soon! Check out the doors closely, you will laugh the doors for both side left and right ar made the same, but the left is flip the way you have to see it to understand you can Google the car's name thanks for the video!

    could be remote controle, some long trailers got that, i know the long trailers that haul the long blades for the windmills, when they have to navigate true some builded ereas some one hopes on the back with a remote controle steering the dolly, maybe in this case the driver has a remote controle in his cabine where he can steer the back wheels.

    Decades ago you had two major truck companies,
    one of them was Scania-vadis and the other was Dutch : DAF.
    They made huge, impressiv trucks.
    Pitty DAF doesn't exist anymore....

    The little red car at the end was a VW Up!
    I've had one from new for 10 years now and it's the best car I've ever owned. I'm 6'2" and it's the first car I had that I couldn't reach the pedals in when the seat was all the way back (and I've owned plenty of far longer cars). The engine is rotated 90° so it takes up much less room at the front. The tax is just £20 a year as it's 997cc and the only thing I've ever had to pay for on the yearly MOT is new tires.

    The load is part of a big demolition excavator. The company is from Netherlands. Its name used to be beelen. I think there are cool videos of that excavator here on youtube, too

    The Diesel tank is mounted behind the cabin, because they couldn't fitt a regular Diesel tank on the side of the tractor trailer due to the amount of axles on the tractor trailer. You can see the Diesel tank at 5:49.

    I drive a short Volvo FL boxtruck trough some darn narrow streets for a living. This on the other hands is on a whole different level. With trucking like this you have to blindly trust your spotter. If he says stop, you stop. If he says go, you go. Your life is on occasion quite literally in his or her hands.

    That trailer was build in my former hometown at Nooteboom. They are quite leading in building deep loader and heavy load trailers.
    When I was a kid I regularly passed the factory and all the new stuff was stored outside. Also the Floor factory was at the same zone, and the build more regular trailers but they are merged with another company now and part of their former premises is converted into a restaurant themed as a tribute to Floor.
    Floor also build their own trucks for a while and they installed Detroit engines. So we were quite familiar with the sound of screaming Detroits that you could hear all over town.😂 such cool trucks. If you would like to have look into that search for FTF.

      I worked for Nooteboom and Floor. And I’m proud that they are probably the best trailer builders in the world. And I’m also proud that I’m a owner of 2 FTF trucks with a 6V92 Detroit and a 8V92 Detroit!

    We dont have 5 axle tractor units, mostly its 3 or 4 axles, but the trailer would have an extra set of wheels at the front on the gooseneck to reduce the weight loading on the truck wheels.

    How to drive/steer the truck has been calculated and planed in advance. At 11.13 you can see that some steel plates along the canal bank seem to be missing. They are not. They're just not required.
    All heavy lifting and transport is calculated and planed. Btw, I think 'heavy lifting and transport' is a great subject. Check 'Dockwise' and 'Mammoet' for the marine side of it..
