The reason I'm looking at getting this particular TV at this price point is because I just had to throw out my Samsung 50-inch 4K that I had for only 22 months and the screen died. I didn't have an extended warranty so I'm out $800. I'm not spending another $800 on a TV. So I understand the complaints about this TV but you must also understand that even Samsung dies a quick death at times
oh one thing you must go into your settings and go too input devices go too your HDMI that has you device on it switch it off auto and put it on 2.0 witch is the new standered for HDMI devices
I wouldn't recommend a Vizio... my mom got a 70 inch one and it hasn't even been a year later the picture is going out, looks dark and faded in certain spots!! I've never tried TCL so I bought this TV today from Bestbuy for $240 with the 5 year protection plan. 🙌

Also, i personally think the 65 inch is a little to big for gaming. Also the 65 inch has a 60 hz screen, which doesnt really matter if your going to use it for shows only. But if you dont care about gaming and want it to watch tv, the 65 inch is better. My uncles getting it for football.
will a regular Roku remote work with the tv? I have a remote for Roku 3. I like it because it has a headphone jack for private listening. I have the roku app on my phone, but I cant figure out how to use private listening (headphone's). How do you do it? Do I have to pay the $10 for full the full version?
Just purchased it to replace an older CRT at the cottage. Any idea how good the tuner is in this TV? I can get CTV on the old piece of junk so I'm really hoping this guy will pick up CTV as well. It's for my parents. They need to watch the news and are aging.

What's the ATSC antenna tuner function like? Does this TV have an EPG? Can you check the signal levels of how the local TV stations are being received with the antenna?
I tried to get it to work with free over-the-air channels but I couldn't access anything. I don't think that was the TV. I've read people in my area have a hard time accessing them.
I buyed this exact same tv 65 inch model, from best buy. One month and a half later the tv is keeping turning off and on. I can't watch the tv for 10 minutes without it happens. I called best buy and they will not help me with my problem because it is after 30 days of my purchase. They referred me to TCL. Now I'm waiting the technician's call for more than a week and after his call it will take again a week or 2 to be repaired. At least, if the repair works. So I am a month without working tv. This tv is a SCAM. Don't buy it!!!
You only forgot to mention that the TV can only reach a maximum of 207 nits for HDR, whereas the industry standard for HDR10 is 1000 nits or more. This is a very dim TV and doesn't have real HDR. There's no way for it to boost the bright highlights enough nor darken the blacks enough. Also, this TV doesn't have a wide color gamut, so the colours aren't rich enough for HDR. Otherwise it's okay for someone who doesn't mind sacrificing HDR so they can spend much less money.
I don't think most people care about HDR, but the fact that it's marketed as HDR bothers me... a tiny bit. My real complaint ( and the reason I begrudgingly unmounted my tv, re-packed and it sent it back to BB ) is that it truly is dim. If you want the colors to 'pop' in any way you have to set up the brightness to the point that blacks become greys. It's a good budget tv but considering that the last tv we had was used for 10 years, I think I'll spend a tiny bit more to not deal with this dim-ass tv. I wanted to love it, I truly did.
PLEASE DON'T DO IT. Look up the number of people having the same problem with "Black screen." I didn't believe it either and now I'm stuck with this trash!!! IT WILL FAIL ON YOU , YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Nice try and maybe your research did conclude what you posted BUT my hands on ownership research begs to differ on dependability , NOT PRICE and the results is THIS PRODUCT IS ABSOLUTELY CRAP. Of all the tv's I've owned in 30 years , not one has given me less performance . Trying save a buck , opting for a brand I've never heard of failed me on CHRISTMAS DAY. How can you give this review!... This tv freaking sucks. I literally just got home from sams club returning it's waaaay to dark while whites are too white. Color gammut is all over the place and it is NOT amazing at all. My 8 year old samsung is waaay better. Do your self a favor and stay away... You get what u pay for....
First, your other media components are obviously out of date. Second, this TV is cheap! 75" 4 series owner, here, for a TV (with tax) at 630 bucks. My couch is 9' away from it, and the picture is pretty damn good. My only gripe is, I didn't buy a wall mount.

From what I understand the tcl and the vizio are the best bang for your buck. With the price range being 300-350
The TCL is brighter and has better upscaling and the vizio has more contrast and wider color range
Michael Morgan I was more interested in the tcl 5 but none of the stores around me have it. The Local Walmart has the V series vizio though.
