      I absolutely love history ( even when I was in high school many, many, many moons ago), math, English Literature, and music.

    Versailles is an unbelievably beautiful place . If anyone is going to holiday in France I would highly recommend it .
    It must have been quite something to see when the place was busy with all the nobility before the revolution. The parties that went on in the hall of mirrors will have been the very definition of opulence.

    I have a long standing question perhaps someone here can answer. Why is it in period programming, by whatever source, candles are lit in a room flooded with natural light? They would do no good in providing light in such a situation.

    • @xjacksonplayzx8287
      @xjacksonplayzx8287 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      plus from what i understand, since candles were so widely used, they went through them pretty fast and almost every court had a candle "ration" for anyone who lived or worked there because otherwise the sheer amount would just be unmanageable. so they def wouldnt just be burning them for no reason. im guessing its the same reason almost every period piece has a british accent, no matter WHERE its actually located

    I bet that Madame de Pompadour didn’t like him much either. I mean, if I were her, I wouldn’t resign the role of king’s mistress only because of the salary. I mean, otherwise, I would just tell him that he was ugly and then proceed to tell him that he is better off hiding himself behind a mask, and never coming out.
