    I picked up my LT 35 hydraulic in Indianapolis Indiana on April 23, my class was approximately four hours, they took their time with me and showed everything I needed to know on how to operate the mill, I watched your video on how to set it up and for the first couple times I set it up, I would refer back to your video and go step-by-step, you actually done a very good job on the demonstration, and you know what The first time I set it up I actually forgot to take the fenders off just like you said, after I realize what I done I kind of chuckled because you warned us, thank you very much for being a TH-cam video instructor , your videos are very helpful thank you have a great day

    Hey Boss, My comment here is long overdue. When I picked up my sawmill in Wisconsin last fall I was too stoked to really listen to all of the instructions properly. My college kid told me to look on youtube and there you were. It really is a great job by you in demonstrating the set up. I'm milling logs on my 20 acres in Minnesota for a treehouse I'm building now and a timberframe house in the years to come. I came back here to comment because I saw you comment on a "Bus Huxley" HFT series that I also enjoy. Being from Maine originally, I really appreciate his hard work and sense of humor. Sorry for the long winded comment, just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to help others like me. Have a good one..!!

      That’s awesome, Dean! I’m glad I could help. When I picked up my mill my dad had come with me and ended up leaving the Wood-Mizer store in an ambulance so my instruction was a little overlooked as well. I’m going to do a full maintenance on my mill soon. Stay tuned for that!

    I’m with you on the cumbersome means of using the levelling jacks. So, I use a bottle jack to finesse the levelling. It certainly helps me. I have an older LT 40 and it’s manual and so every little bit helps. 😊

    Great video. I was looking for just this type of video! I just picked up my new LT40 Hydraulic yesterday and had the 3 hours training. Thats a LOT of info to pack in, in a short 3 hours! Then i got the idea this morning to look for videos explaining the different facets of setting up the saw, running the saw, and other parts that make sawmilling a lil easier for us first time sawmill owners. This way I could watch the video, and start & stop them to write down and make a list of all the steps, to read through as I was getting started. What I haven't found, is a video of the breakdown of the sawmill, after all the sawing has been completed, and youre ready to head back to home base with it. So, here I am asking you to possible do a short video on the breakdown. :)
    Seems to me, the breakdown and securing everything is just as, if not more important, than the setup! Your setup video is very detailed and easy to understand, thats why I'm asking YOU to do us a breakdown one! Thanks!

      I’m glad I could help, Eddie. Your idea is a good one. I’ll work on that!

      @eddiewildsmith9721 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NorthwestSawyer, after thinking about it, I took and broke down all the facets of your video and made a detailed list of the setup. Numbered each item, printed the list then laminated it, so I'd have it every time I set it up. Maybe after 5-10 times of setup, I can remember each step without referring to the list. Seemed to cut our setup/breakdown time substantially. :)

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Timing is perfect because we pick up our new Wood-Mizer LT35 Hydraulic this coming Friday.
    I also want to thank you for all of your other videos. Your videos helped this very green old rookie pull the trigger on all of this. I am likely buying mine from the same place that you purchased yours. I'll tell the salesman, Rob, that he should send you a commission.
    Now if I can figure out that siding attachment you made, I might find a friend to weld one up for me. ;>)
    Starting this weekend.... this will be quite an adventure.

      Oh boy! You’re probably like a kid at Christmas right now! I’ll be honest, the salesman there didn’t impress me one bit. But the guy who did impress me was the guy who gives you your training. He is a good guy. Knows the saw well. My dad had gone with me to get my saw last summer and ended up fainting a couple times in the heat. He got us water and called an ambulance. He was going to help however he could.
      You are about to have a lot of fun making sawdust! Keep us posted!

    • @NorthwestSawyer
      @NorthwestSawyer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The guy who trains you will show you how to tension in the blade. It’s very simple. You will get a very thorough book with your saw. You’ll also get a gauge to set the drive belt tension. The only thing you should buy at the time you get your saw is a box of blades.

      I did it.
      Spent most of yesterday at training....fun, and also fun to watch my wife make boards. I added a single upgrade, a tongue jack that I can crank up....much easier than that steel bar lift. We will set it up today and see just how much we remember and then...read the big book. So very happy.
      First I must make it fun, then I might try to make a few bucks, but this is mostly about fun for my bride and I... and the hunt for the beauty of what can be seen inside the log.
      Thanks again.

    Why is precise levelling so important?

    • @NorthwestSawyer
      @NorthwestSawyer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leveling isn’t nearly as important as making sure you have equal pressure on each leg to keep the deck flat when you have heavy loads on it.
