  • The Suir Blueway is a new cycling and walking path between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir along the banks of the River Suir that flows through Tipperary to Waterford.
The blueway also features a canoe trail that starts in Cahir all the way to Waterford City.
The path is mostly on the Tipperary side but the Suir here marks the boundary between the counties of Tipperary (path side) and Waterford (other side of the river).
The path is approximately 22km in length and runs from Tipperary's largest town, Clonmel to Carrick-on-Suir home to two of Ireland's famous cyclists - Sean Kelly and Sam Bennett.
Here, on a sunny summer's day I cycle from Clonmel to Kilsheelan.
The Suir is home to otters, kingfishers, herons, cormorants and many other wild creatures as well as some fine old bridges and views of Slievenamon, the Comeragh Mountains and the lush green Irish countryside.

Although it saddens me to say it, I agree. Take care.
