Cryptic messed up this one big time. I did the vampire boss in a group and I never got the last companion gear piece because it was awarded to another team member. Now there isn't any other way to get it and I'm kinda upset. There are a lot of people in this situation without any solution or feedback from Cryptic.
I've heard rumors that master expeditions very rarely also drop companion gear... but I've never seen it myself... Would be very odd though if you only get 1 chance for companion gear per character.....
Keep the Blue 861 companion gear in reserve as they do have different stats and are useful to swap out to ensure you are achieving the stats that you need
You're right - also because there are only 5 comp gear items known that are level 850+... Not that much to play with - but tuning stats definitely is a good call

Those toons are by far not complete... neglected in previous mods People are currently still running endgame dungeons sub-30mins (LotMM) and we are expecting buffs soon(tm)
What do you mean by first quest line? You only need to get 9 magic relics in the expedition to terminus - that is where you get the companion ring. Other campaign expeditions give an epic player ring if you get 9 relics.

Companion are broken right now from what I heard... they dont do much. I don't think though that they will become BiS, at least not for queued content. Their presence is regarded already a buff
Request: I would love to know if any of the gear powers stack and if so which gear and which powers e.g. Swordsmans Perk and Snipers... I hear that Snipers does stack but this was only rumor
I AM using, bullette pup summoned, sylph def, black dragon off, panther off, siege master off and battlefield medic utility. Is that the best? No, I just picked something - not optimising just yet to be honest... My runestone slots are still empty :P but I definitely would put empowered runestones in there

Get alpha compy if you can, sinc in the end you will balance all stats and get caps too, what will left is power and at moment best is hem... +4% power at epic, out from total power
Is there a list of what stats the Fierce, Herioc, etc have now? They might not be best in slot anymore but they could still be useful temporarily if you are overcapped on some stats and lacking others.
@@RainerNW Thanks. I definitely wouldn't spend a lot of AD on them but even a +4 Herioc probably has a combined 5000 stats split between Armor Pen and Combat Advantage. Seems pretty good to me. When you first hit mod 16 you won't be thinking about capping stats like Critical Avoidance or Deflect but you will _definitely_ want to hit your Armor Pen and Crit caps before your first fight. They also don't bind on equip so you can still sell them later. I imagine they will always have some value for new accounts or alts.

However you only get 1 chance to obtain these 3, if you miss or lose one of these somehow you are one step behind from other people, also other thing is that these are for dps classes if you have noticed, where are the best companion gear with defensive slots for tanks? and yet it's even not good enough for dps either, you are narrowed down to the stats these gear give. They should add gear too when they fix such problems like in ''Waning Darkness'' quest.
You get 5 good companion gear pieces total, 3 epic - 2 rare. The rare pieces have some good defensive stats as well - so you could use those. Adding companion gear sounds like a logical step. All the other sources that give companion gear are unchanged and don't give anything useful :-/ Can you post the link where the devs have stated they will release companion gear with mod17? Normally they are very secretive with what will be in future mods

OK...we did the MOD16 questline with my friend . He was the guy who talked to npc. Now he have gear - I don't. The only one I got is from the expedition quest =(
Hey rainer...great video but wish I knew 3 weeks ago when I did my campain with my 2 toons. From all the expedition in 2 maps if I remember well I ended up with 8 relics so no epic loot. But I manage to collect 3 epic companion stuff. But correct me if iam wrong...2 of them had defensive stats and 2 off slots....so why to change it with a blue that has 1 off slot but lower IL and offensive stats?
If the blues have better stats for you, of course use them - but overall more slots = more power, since you can put empowered runestones in those slots - and most people are overcapped on other stats anyway (endgame) so it's all about power
I haven't ever seen a map that is missing a relic - there are always three... but if you cannot find a relic - abandon the mission and start over. It will set you back 15minutes but it's worth it
@@RainerNW was one(the map with the twisted room at begin) that until 1 week ago or so in like 70% of time was missing a relic, is impossible to start over now since this happened at start of mod 16
That one has some hidden relics, one being behind the starting point which a lot of players missed. But if this really was a bug then that sucks indeed - we have to wait how the devs will handle this issue for players who missed their companion gear during the campaign missions...

Yea I guess console players are going to benefit most of this video - for PC it's good for newer players but most of the veterans already have finished this stuff (at least on their mains)

Yea it's a bit of a mess.... for people on console -> do not do the quest in a group, it's easily soloable and prevents any missed items

Map 4 Top left where there are two semi circular areas, you show a relic in the left one, I have also seen them in the right hand one as well.

I finished the first quest line, and got a different ring, not for companion. And I had collected all 9 relic pieces.
What do you mean by first quest line? You only need to get 9 magic relics in the expedition to terminus - that is where you get the companion ring. Other campaign expeditions give an epic player ring if you get 9 relics.

You can only have 2 stacks of either Sniper's or Swordman's perk right now. They don't stack above that.
So now I know why I only have 2 of the 3 rings but it's not fair that we can't have another chance :'(
I do recall the devs saying they were looking into the issue - but I don't know whether they will reimburse any missed items... :-/

The choke chain will be in the campaign store, the pearl ring drops from MEs

Defiant +5: 435 combined, 5220 critical avoidance
Sturdy +5: 435 Combined, 2088 critical avoidance, 3132 deflect
Bold +5: 435 combined, 3132 armor penetration, 2088 critical strike
Fierce +5: 435 combined, 3132 critical strike, 2088 combat advantage
Heroic +5: 435 combined, 2088 armor penetration, 3132 combat advantage

Since you can get the new ones literally immediately when mod16 drops I wouldn't invest in old comp gear tbh ;-) Maybe for alts below level 70?

how about if we did the campaign expeditions and we had the bad luck the get the map that was missing a relic?

Is the pearl ring of the companion still able to drop in master expeditions? I didn’t do the relics when i was leveling up to 80.
It does! But now you can get even better companion equipment from stardock expeditions :-)
