I found a Whitney Musket sitting in the middle of deep cavern and I picked it up. I was wondering why it was illegal for me to have. But damn it’s handy.
I main native since colonist is boring to me, so I use a bow. I am bad close up since I got a stone hatchet for melee. But I feel like I am way better with bow than gun. Even if a group has guns against just me with a bow, as long as its far off enough, I usually come out on top. So I personally feel like it's about who using the bow and where they are using it. But I usually dont do combat anyway so it doesnt really matter what is good for combat.
what would you suggest for more casual play? i fight players from time to time but im just playing for fun (ie hunting with rifle/ musket type relaxed play)
I think the calvet should be higher, it's actually pretty good. It's super cheap to get and while it's damage is a bit low, it's really accurate and reloads pretty fast.
@@trulers8713 all carbines have real bad spread n bullet drop even calvet reload is only like a second or two faster than the muskets, you might as well use one of those and up ur damage by 20

After further in-game inspection, the calvet carbine has the exact same reticle size as the Holstein pistol. I'm not sure how to test bullet velocity so I'm assuming that's where it falls off, but at mid or close range is incredible accurate for a carbine.

In previous Iterations the Tane actually was insanely OP it's accuracy was on par with the Bayern Rifle and it's damage was still 95 Body Shot. However these things are so rare that using it in PvP is practically a death sentence cause if you do die it's game over you just lost one of the rarest guns in the game
I won a Mahogany Silver Tanegashima with a nickname "Hausergun" for the house building event. I am absurdly regreting my decision to sell it off. Atleast I'm a rich fat snob now :'(

@@epicpotato7945 the thing is that the tane was a japanese gun. It wasnt common in warfare because it was so inaccurate. Thats also the reason why samurai archers were seen so frequently back then. The gunners in their armies were not really skilled, and didnt play a crucial role on the battlefield besides covering fire.

me who used to insure an entienne and use a kukri as my set . . . bro its a hella good combo trust the reload speed allows me to just go in get 2 smacks with my kukri then shoot them and bleed them out

If any devs see this I feel the calvet carbine should be treated as a sidearm...like a sawed off rifle strapped to your thigh...idk might make it seem a bit better to me, and it would give it more use. And yes you armchair historians ik it's probably to big to be considered a sidearm, tis a game you trolls (on Roblox nonetheless)

@@carnex13 that’s the thing. People I encounter are easy enough to juke their shots and even more so at distance, idk what to tell you. As for distance I don’t mind the arrow drop since I’m used to projectiles. This is what has been working for me so this is how I’m having to see it. Maybe I’m getting lucky in my encounters?
Bows have 1 single use, house defense. Short bows with metal arrows are machine guns, and have been a life saver in our house seiges.

you insure your etienne? just shoot them with a primary and hit them with any half decent melee, that's a faster kill

Idk I think they should just make carbines have a faster reload like its meant to so they have a role as a faster RPM gun

I wish guns were kept loaded when you unequip them, that way you could get some good uses out of the Calvet as a lightweight third gun ig.
actually it would be quite overpowered holding a crap ton of guns on you. but there is a weight limit, also risk of losing them all.
