I'll never forget the guy who sold me my Speicalised Turbo Levo saying "whatever you do, when charging the battery make sure you blah blah blah before you plug it in otherwise it could lead to damage..."
I replied with "yeah yeah, no worries and sped out of his bike shop as fast as the bike could go as I was on a crazy high from purchasing my first bad ass E-bike.
Eventually the battery drained and I pulled out the big battery pack ready to charge it.
I couldn't remember a single word the guy at the bike shop had said about what to do / what NOT to do when charging the Levo so I pulled out the manual and read it in detail. There was absolutely nothing in there regarding what the Salesman had originally told me about the process of charging the battery.
So I just plugged it in at the wall with the mains switch off, then plugged it into my bike, then switched it on at the mains. I figued this was the only thing that could possibly stop any damage to the charger / battery. All seemed to go well except the charger itself immediately became incredibly hot. So i sat there' drinking beer, watching the bike and charger for hours in a slight panic before it was finally fully charged and luckily nothing exploded / melted... etc
It never occurred to me for 1 second to turn to the internet for advice. That's what I get for being an 80's kid I suppose! 😅
Those battery packs still get super hot though! 🔥

Plugin, charge, done. Three words is enough.

Just got my Levo home tonight and there is nothing in the manual I received about the motor or battery. What the?

I put a little piece of adhesive backed velcro on the top of the plug at 12:00 o'clock, so you can quickly clock it, even if you can't see it.The magnetic plug will draw it in.

That's a clever trick to speed up the fumbling!

Are you charging to 100% on every charge? Some people believe that Lithium batteries will last longer if they are NOT charged to 100%.

I have been, yeah - someone suggested in the comments of another video it would be cool if you could set a charge % before the charger cuts out, as it can be difficult to always get it before the cut off!

I always charge my e-bike to full, and use it to 1 bar then charge full.

I have ordered a 2021 comp at a local BS . I am in Canada . There not available here yet.😩. With all the upgrades I am glad I waited. Hopefully they fixed the problem with the motor that people on TH-cam have been having. They went from a 200 mm back brake rotor to a 180. I always say you can't have to much brakes
But maybe it will be ok.

I bet you can't wait! Oh, I didn't realise there were motor problems common on TH-cam videos - I'll have to have a look 😮
You can neeeveeer have too much brake.

I asked around. Three owners of a 2021 TL Comp confirming the rear brake rotor is 203mm.

So basiclly all you showed was how to plug a charger in and switch it on ?

After charging I note that you pulled out charge cable before turning off at wall. I thought you said it could lead to error codes?

Can the battery be charged off the bike? (ie; remove the batttery and take it somewhere else to charge)?

Does your charger get hot when charging Andrew Evans

      Mine does

Mine does. It gets extremely hot!
But so far it's not exploded!
However I think they should incorporate some kind of cooling mechanism for future battery packs as I'm sure all that heat can't be good for the internal components.
Especially for those of us living out in Australia when we hit 40 degree days in the summer!
I still bring my Levo indoors and turn on the air-con / fans when I charge it just to avoid the boiling temperatures.
