You guys should try sate klathak. It's a goat satay but cooked using an iron stick. One of the most known place is Sate Klathak Pak Pong, but I suggest you to try other places too because it's quite crowded especially on weekend and peak season. Hope you guys enjoy your visit in Yogyakarta!

Welcome to Jogja! You should visit all ancient temples here: Prambanan, Borobudur, Ratu Boko, candi ijo, and many more. If you're into beaches, you can explore lots of beaches in Jogja. And don't miss out Merapi volcano and try climbing up to the Nglanggran ancient volcano.

Great that you finally discover Jogja ! While you guys there I recommend to visit :
Borobudur - largest Buddhist temple and UNESCO heritage
Prambanan - largest Hindu temple in Java, currently they have art installation of KAWS in there until 31st August !! So, lucky for you guys to be in there now, dont miss it !
Cinema Bakery - nice local bakery and coffee shop with unique combination interior style of French and local Javanese
Angkringan - this is basically a small street food stall/cart which are nearly everywhere in town and very local style. People commonly spend time in there to have light bite and chit chat at night. If you're curious, ask anyone to show you any nearest Angkringan and feel the local vibe

It's not peanut sauce but coconut gravy. The coconut milk is cooked for a very long time till it thickens and creamy and turns into gravy. And the fruit in the middle is called "jambu air" or wax apple in english.

I love both of you guys who really understand what price must be charged and what is the best place you need to go, You've done good research, and maybe if there is any chance to revisit Surabaya, I will help to list some sites and food for you guys, because Surabaya has pretty good savory and sweet food, and good places to go I think (for additional information, in Surabaya there is biggest mall in Southeast Asia, which even Jakarta does not have I guess). *FYI: the fruit that you've eaten is called Salak (English: snake fruit, because the skin of this fruit has a similar texture to snakeskin) it is really good for the immune system. The second fruit is called Jambu Monyet (English: cashew fruit, like the name of this fruit, it is the same fruit that produces cashew nut) actually there is a lot of variants for this fruit, I am not sure what kind of variant that the lady sell, but all kind of the variant has a good benefit for anti-bacteria and anti-septic), stay healthy, have fun, and can't wait for other content from you guys!

Try Tongseng Sudimoro at Pasar Bantul. It's a meat/chicken/mutton stew with sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), coconut milk, cabbage, and tomatoes. Their tongseng soup is different from the one in Jakarta. The savory and sweet flavors blend perfectly.

Traditional gudeg places are named after the founder so that lady in the pictures is actually named Djuminten. Teh tarik is more Melayu or Malay, and in Indonesia it is more commonly found in Sumatra but has become more popular in other parts of the country. I recommend you eat Ayam Goreng Suharti, Sate Klathak Pak Pong, Soto Kadipiro, and Bakmi Pak Pele. If you only have a short time, try Raminten as they have all traditional Jogja foods in one restaurant. Also visit alun-alun selatan at night and try all the food stalls there.

    4. Traditional snack (lemper, lupis, jadah, klepon, jenang, etc) in local market such as Kotagede Market/Pasar Kotagede, not only snack, you guys also can try indonesian tropical fruits (salak, papaya, manggo, sawo, mangosteen, jackfruit, guava, etc) in nice prices. And dont forget making reactions video after trying all the food.
    5. Jamu is traditiona herbal drinks, you can get in tradisional market or restaurant such as Raminten Restaurant that give you traditional cuisine with modern vibes.

😁Salak is a species of palm tree in Indonesia also known as snakeskin fruit due to the reddish-brown scaly skin. The fruit inside consists of three lobes with the two larger ones, or even all three, containing a large inedible seed.
The other is probably Rose apple, or better known locally as Jambu, is an exceptionally unique fruit. It is crisp and light with a mild and sweet flavor similar to a snow pear.😁
