@@chadtrickthereal We never used the term "grunge" here in Seattle. It was a derogatory term. I mean, how could anyone possibly call Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Mudhoney the exact same musical style?? Makes no fuckin' sense.
Ditto. I reckon When Badmotorfinger came out it was considered and sounded like Metal (not thrash metal, which was mainstream at the time.) On later albums they toned it down to hard rock, but these two were definitely straight-ahead heavy metal. Differentiated from "grunge" by tight timing, intelligent melodies, and fat metal sound. Dennis Justus Thank you for posting the entire Soundgarden concert I went to at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington DC back in January 2013. I’m super lucky to have been there.
I never said I didn't hear of them before, I saw Soundgarden in concert at Day on the Green in Oakland in 1991. I was just saying that she linked to this video on Twitter and I came here because of that.
I was scrolling through and found this video. I was there for the whole weekend. Fought my way to the front of the mosh pit for all of sound garden. Brings back memories. Some of my boys that were with me then are not with me now.
Lucky mofos in this crowd. Still one of my favorite Soundgarden songs. And still regret not going with my friends to see them with Faith No More way back when...
Chris Cornell is one of my favorite singers, However, just by watching how he sings, it's easy to see how easy it would be for him to make signing in this style safer and easier, with minor technique alterations.
