Mate - you dont need brute force - you need to depress both VW logo button on top AND locking tap to slide out. It will come easily.

I've used your video more than once to remind me which side of the key comes off. As a small addition, I use a lump of Blu-tack to pull the chrome piece off, makes the whole process a lot easier! 👍

Pressing the VW logo on the front of the fob releases the emergency key. At least it does on mine

Clear and informative however I wouldn’t rag out the key with a screwdriver, that will weaken the stopper and you may lose all your keys as it’s normally used as a key chain loop

Correct! You must hold down the VW button while you pull on the key. It comes out easily.

how about pushing down on the VW symbol witch allows you to pull the emergency key out.

At the 40 sec mark, if you push the little stopper with the top of your finger AS WELL AS PRESS THE VW logo button on the other side, the emergency key should slide out really easy without any force... like this: th-cam.com/video/GtBVV3zRsOg/w-d-xo.html
