    I love the way you did your demo and I enjoyed the way you mixed in the drums too.

    I have a 6262 120 watt combo I just repaired after letting it sit for 5 years, bc it needed repairs, and yeah, I was surprised when reminded how good they actually sound. Sure, it's a 5150/5150II bargain Chinese knockoff, but they did a pretty good job. As far as failures, man, *every single tube amp* I have ever owned went to the shop sooner or later, and I've had all kinds, with the exception of hand wired boutique amps... maybe they are worth $4K.... NOT.
    It sounds just like the 5150II head I had. I also forgot that really neat feature of being able to use *either* 6L6GC's or EL4's with just the flick of a switch and set the bias with a simple little knob. Pretty amazing for a 'cheap knockoff'.
    Anyway, I fixed it myself, and after looking inside, I tell you, the internal layout is far more clean and 'workable' than the 5150's. However, looking around, I saw how light the gauge most of the wiring is. The problem was a burnt connector that I just removed and soldered the wire directly onto the board. If anything else happens to it, I know that taking a look and fixing something simple would be very easy to spot and fix. Not so with the Peaveys.
    Anyway, nice demo, Rock on! :)

      It is absolutelly killer amp. I recently bought the very hyped PRS MT-15 and found out, that I actually prefer my old 6262! (MT-15 has beautiful cleans and more definition tho - it's just more "modern" sounding.)

I could come up with many excuses, life situation, health issues etc., but f*** it, no one needs that... you're right, I will try to come up with a new video within 2 weeks latest from now, and then making new videos on a regular basis, cross the fingers for me, and thank you again ;)

    Your tones are amazing dude 👌 did you use any pedals?

    • @BrianBajak
      @BrianBajak  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Thank you so much! No pedals, I just play a lot with sound before recording, always using new strings and Sivcak guitars have really good sound that is always coming through with passive pickups. I play with pickups (switching often to single coil) for clean sounds. For live playing I use tube screamer before an amp just with minimum overdrive, not to add gain, but to get rid of the muddy bass freqs. I use a high pass filtering in mix for these videos then.

    is it just the difference of dedicated eq and not. like the old peavey 5150 compared to newer or 6505+ ?

  • @whatyoumakeofit6635
    @whatyoumakeofit6635 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was just having hard time believing bugera copied them to the point that they made separate models to copy the entire evolution of the peavey 5150. that company must really have been banking on those amps to be popular.

    • @BrianBajak
      @BrianBajak  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, but it is not the first time in history (not even the last, haha)... I think Soldano sued Peavey for copying their circuits after the 5150 was released, or Mesa did the exact 1x12 cab copy from Eelectro Voice... Still, it is good for us musicians to have a lot to choose from :)

    How is the low end on these amps. I have a 6260 combo that is absolutely ball-less in the low end. Nice demo. Otto's solid.

    • @BrianBajak
      @BrianBajak  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Randy, thank you! There is more low end than enough for me. You can see where I have the bass knob. Anyway, today I think I could get better sound, was too much focused on drum mixing, haha... I think the most important thing is the cab. Sometimes the 2x12 combos just don't do the job (and sometimes they do). Do you have a chance to unplug the speakers of your combo (on the back panel) and try some guitar cab (with proper resistance)? (Meaning using your combo as a head only.) That could really make a difference. Then it also could be worth considering changing the speakers in the combo (depending on one's taste).

    • @dokterkarel
      @dokterkarel 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianBajak its not the pickups (tried several). Its really the amp itself. Other people have confirmed that the clean channel with gain only on 1, still sounds a bit crunchy. In your video, it does not really do that. Great video btw!
