Love this song, Love this band and LOVE Haruna, that little dynamo, just smiling to herself back there...sigh.... THank you for reacting to this vidoe.
Love this song! Did you notice that shreddy guitar from Midori in the background during the chorus? Music compositions and presentation from this band is just the best!
The song is about finding humanity in the aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. It takes a special group to pull off something like this. As others have commented, Midori's insane, almost constant shred lead doesn't get enough attention. It's sort of a counterpart to Miyako's shred tapping lead in "The Crusade".
I came unglued when I first seen/heard this. So many influences here, in this one song. Hard to list them all. Midori constantly shredding over the chorus. The chorus reminds me of Joe Jackson "Stepping Out". The ending... Rachmaninoff 2nd symphony Adagio. The main galloping riff. Midori using a slide. Haruna hammering away on the drums like she is Ingo Schwichtenberg and it's 1987. This song sounds like it was written by 5 or 6 composers, each one writing different parts. It is one of Lovebites more "proggier" songs, and I think it's awesome.
Awesome song and i would say somewhat of a fan favorite, i see a lot of fans mentioning this song! It's one of my favorites too! Their Live DVD's are always awesome sound (in case you don't know, Lovebites mixes and masters all of their albums/DVD in Finland at Finvoxx Studios, the same studio that mixed the Nightwish albums). 🤘🙂🎸🔥
One of my fav lovebites songs! absolute masterpiece, and midori shred the whole song omg! (her guitar part in 3 chorus is my favorite in the song!) I always think this song is probably the most skillful guitar performance I've ever heard of midori 🔥🐺🔥
Last song of the encore of an hour&45min show. A literal atomic explosion represented, midori shredding throughout including slide, the major-chord chorus to lift us from the devastation, while miyako gives us the slower melodic release from the intensity. Midori's guitar-work 'under' the chorus is phenomenal. Hiroshima, an experience unique to the Japanese people, embraced to motivate overcoming and a positive outcome, even, or especially from such unimaginable suffering. LOVEBITES! unsurpassed... The outro is "The Everlasting" written by Miyako
LOVEBITES - Under The Red Sky lyrics: Rupture of the Heavens Blinding rays piercing through on a killing spree Looming in the distance, come the thundering roars of calamity Eerie bitter silence, from the whirling black smoke and insanity Time has stopped and frozen Held my breath with the death of humanity If somewhere God really exists How would He take our shame and great disgrace? Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget At the edge of this grey world Holding you tight Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in Pounded by the black rain, while the world is engulfed in a bloody sea Stolen in a moment; everything, everyone lost to history If somewhere God really exists How would He take our shame and great disgrace? Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget But again I will find you And take your hand Cause I know, together we are stronger than this nightmare Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget At the edge of this grey world Holding you tight Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget But again I will find you And take your hand Cause I know, together we will find a way to overcome ----- lyrics: asami music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
I love this song, it hits you like an avalanche, same feeling is on Above the Black Sea. Sadly it got blocked. I'm trying to think on what song I get that feeling too. They have to be Apocalypse quite thrashy one and Addicted with a massive intro on it. Addicted has also that lifting chorus but overall a powerful song. In my opinion you should try those next. They are not the ones that often are requested but hey, they don't have a bad song.... I'm not sure if there is still live versions of both songs but they are live at Zepp Diver City, works on audio versions too 👍🤟🐺
This song is about the atomic bombing of Japan. Under the Red Sky refers to the effects of the blast. The frenetic riff and rhythm section captures the intensity of the events. Midori's solos depict the moment of the ignition and subsequent explosion over the city, and the chaos immediately after. Miyako's solo concentrates on the rising rom the ashes, as does the closing choral harmony at the end. I had the privilege of visiting the Peace Park in Nagasaki ten years ago. What I saw and read there changed my attitude toward war forever. Organized school groups, numbering in the tens of thousands of students from all across Japan to visit there annually.
Haruna's best drumming is on their Painkiller cover. Use this link, but do it quick because it could disappear any day. th-cam.com/video/ivJXmOVsFaA/w-d-xo.html. She has a short solo in their Eage Fly Free cover. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/To21HILZvYE/w-d-xo.html I think another good song for her drumming is "Rising" and Shadowmaker". There are MV for those on Lovebites site.
It's too bad you skipped them taking their final bows. There is a brief moment when the personalities of the five women really come into focus--Midori the outgoing, flirty one, Miyako the stoic, slightly amused one, Haruna soaking up the adoration of the crowd, Asami the stage general, and Miho, her sadness and her pride both showing through. It's quite remarkable.
Yeah, it's a shame about Black Sea, I love Haruna's intro with that song. She does some nice fills in Break the Wall, but I can't remember if you've done that one or not :)
Odd that you cut off Miyako's outro music, "The Everlasting", and missed their final exit, preceded by Midori getting down to the audience and clasping hands, the only one to be so 'in touch' with the fans, with Wolf-Pack. These are moments never to be ignored, imo. As for the 'major chords' in chorus, it is LOVEBITES pattern to confront challenges and hardships, with appropriate musical composition, then to lift us from that 'heaviness' into a 'lighter' more desirable state of empowerment. The major chords are appropriate for that aspect, and are consistently used in many of their songs. Embracing the 'whole' of life on Earth.
Love the wo wo wo part, this is sound like anthem song. You should listen Under The Red Sky from Battle In The East concert 2018 and Heavy Metal Never Dies 2021. IMO 2018 & 2021 sounds better than this(2019).
Very busy, lots going on. Very talented women! Great to see your little friend on camera. Precious!
Bad ass metal band... Lovebites🤘🤘🤘
So much guitar work from the gorgeous MIDORI💚💚💚 in this song. She's not only a super shredder but a high skilled guitarist too.
Bloody Fantastic 🐺🤘
This song just gets better the more I listen to it. Nice reaction
Thanks for continue reacting to amazing Lovebites.
LOVEBITES plays my favorite styles of metal in the very best way it's ever been done. 🤘🐺🤘

hey man, SGBC is dropping a LB bowl tomorrow mid-morning ✌

If one could have a favorite song from Lovebites this one is at the top for me great reaction

Still my Top 3. Pay attention more to what Midori's playing 🤘🔥🎸

👸HARUNA 🥁⭐🏆
they never disappoint. you cut off miyakos outro "the everlasting"

I have…this video got blocked in certain regions/countries…I dont understand why YT does that
@@rockdariff Haruna has some really nice fills in Liar, Dystopia Symphony, and she's REAL solid in their cover of Painkiller too.

Do your self a favor and don't stop a Lovebites vid until it stops! Gotta give you a thumbs down, sorry. Have a nice day. :-)

Miyako's Gibson Explorer sounds better than her Deans 🎸🤘
Quitting before the end, and them saluting, how disrespectful.
