    About to do this on my 2021 Fat Bob, had the .pdf instructions on link & lowering kit from Kodlin, glad I found this video too. I see you had to adjust jacked height a bit to get the shock out, good to see that, and how to access the hard to reach bolt. Thanks Lenny

    • @LennyK
      @LennyK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I believe that 2015s have two shocks in the back. You would have to look for a lowering kit for that.

    I’m 5 foot seven with my boots on, so I’m OK on the street bob but I do want to put the tall shock on the rear like what’s on the Lowrider ST, so I’m wondering, would I get the benefit of more travel and then have the lowering kit drop it back to about where it was stock? I know one cancels out the other as far as height goes, but would I still get more suspension travel?

    • @LennyK
      @LennyK ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I thing this kit will defeat the purpose of the taller shock.

    Does the bike ride rough now? I heard lowering kits make the suspension ride rough over pot holes bumps etc. On the road.

    • @LennyK
      @LennyK 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not ride the bike yet, it’s been snowing for the past month here. But I don’t think it will. The kit didn’t really shorten the travel of the shock.

    Hey Lenny! Thank you for your video!
    I have done all the necessary things to try to at least closer to flat foot my M8 2021 street bob. Bigger boot heel heights, modifying the seat by basically scooping all of the foam out but didn’t help. Adjusted the shock to the lowest setting. It’s just the soft tail frame. The frame super wide so I’m tippy toeing on both sides even with all that. I’m 5’3 and Have already dropped it trying to walk the bike into the garage cause I slipped.
    Did you have to adjust the belt and or have to modify the kickstand?

    • @LennyK
      @LennyK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you like the video. You did all the things I did as well. I also have the super reach seat from Harley, not sure if you saw the video. It definitely helps moving me forward to the controls. I did not modify the peg. One other thing you can do is to lower the from forks. Lastly, I always ride the bike into the garage, but mine is on the slight uphill so I couldn’t push it anyway.

  • @johnhusks
    @johnhusks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    question , does the Kodlin make the bike seem more rigid? I went from a sporty to a 2020 standard and love the feel and ride, just want the lowered look for my bike.

    • @LennyK
      @LennyK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn’t change the geometry or stiffness of the suspension, just lowers it a little.

    Hey Lenny, how did you manage to tighten the nut back against the damper with the new Kodlin damper have that little lifted rim around the edge?

    • @LennyK
      @LennyK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is definitely not a lot of room there to work with. First I tightened the nut on the shock as much as I could then blue loctite and tighten the Kodlin piece the best you can. It's not going anywhere once its on the bike.

    • @TripElectronic
      @TripElectronic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lenny K I gotcha. I ended up leaving the nut slightly above the final threads then backed the Kodlin piece to it and managed to get a crescent wrench in there to just barely and I mean barely hold the nut while I tried to tighten the Kodlin damper against the nut even more but definitely didn’t get the 90ftlbs they suggested. I followed your advice on the loctite and went heavy on it.
