I'm SO glad someone has done this. There are SO MANY videos that claim that these are real, and it's getting hard to tell what's what anymore.
NOTICE: The fake Longhorn sound scheme is from a Samsung theme program from 2003.
To be fair, the samsung theme was lost for 18 years before being found, people made a lot of theories that the fake longhorn sound was fanmade, it was from a different transformation pack that is no longer online, it was featured in Windows XP royale theme fan made, it was in old samsung devices, to many theories.

Also, Windows 10 does have a startup sound, but it is disabled by default and once enabled, it is the Vista/7 startup sound. There is also no shutdown sound, if there was it would be the Vista/7 shutdown sound.

The Startup is true tho but the shutdown sound is incorrect. NT 5.0 used NT 4.0 Shutdown Sound instead.

Windows NT 5.0 had another fake shutdown sound, which was the startup sound but in reverse.
Also some earlier windows sounds videos also claimed that Whistler used XP sounds, even though it used 2000/ME sounds until build 2481.
Longhorn shutdown and many other sounds from that OS are from a Samsung custom theme or one of their phones (Samsung Blackjack I think) (one of the sounds for the device connect is Cosmic Radio from Samsung Galaxy).
This video was made before the fake Longhorn sounds were discovered to be from Samsung.

the reason why windows nt 5 has it startup sound incorrect but also correct is because it was used correctly in beta version. not the after beta version.

0:25 first, why do people think that sounds actually exist this far back (i know the first recorded sound dated all the way back to c. 1850-1860 but this is not what i mean) and second, i know this is from windows 3.0 actually but it was only the multimedia extensions version and not the retail version

Second, those 98 sounds rerecords are too good to be processed in the 3.1 OS as maybe it sounds too suspiciously futuristic (or i would say that if i actually lived in the 1990's) and even if it did, it would be more or less be compressed. thus, reducing the quality of the sounds.

1:51-2:18 yes, this theme is from themeworld but i just wanna say to those who dont even know themeworld is themeworld is a place you can download custom backgrounds, sounds, etc. and i know this because i watched another video and i actually have downloaded a whistler scheme for my windows 10 for free. second of all, these sounds seem too scary to be in an os, i mean thats obvious enough, why would windows put these sounds?!

2:39-2:52 yup, these sounds are from the very scheme i downloaded from themeworld! why are people dumb enough to fall for these. another note, this os used 2000 sounds until build 2494 (as mentioned by Billy O' Reilly), 2481 was the first to have xp sounds but wasnt enabled by default.

Edit May 2 2023: Actually I remember a video that says the fake sounds are actually (presumably) either a scheme for Windows XP or i think these Fake
“Windows Longhorn” sounds are actually in Windows XP as some sort of limited edition but im too lazy to confirm my theory.
Edit 2 May 2 2023: I found enough evidence to prove that there IS actually a samsung scheme for windows xp. thats some good news for my fellow brotheren who like the “longhorn” sounds and are using windows XP.
Edit 3 May 2 2023: I also found out the very same samsung scheme from windows xp is also downloadable in Windows Longhorn, which gives a clue to why it is thought that the samsung sounds are legit. Maybe someone downloaded the scheme and never used it in a long time, went back on windows longhorn, never noticed the sounds were fake then showed it to youtube someway or someone was given a modified computer not knowing the samsung sounds were fake. I also have a side note: there is a bubble startup variant for the samsung scheme of windows xp. Even though its ok if not, try to be careful when your finding ur windows “longhorn” startup in some sort or else u can end up with the bubble variant.

5:22-5:26 the startup sound is logon.wav in the files of windows 8 and above. actually, windows 8 and above actually has a startup which is the windows vista/windows 7 startup but isnt enabled by default. shutdown sound is not possible to be gained unless the os is modified for windows 8 and above.
5:30/5:31-5:36/5:37 Again, the startup sound is windows 7/windows vista startup but isnt enabled by default. and again, NO SHUTDOWN SOUND unless the OS is modified.
The origns of the fake windows 1.0 and longhorn sounds were not discovered when this video was made.

Windows 1.0 didn't use sound. So do Windows OS's up to Windows 3.0.
Windows NT 5.0 used the Windows NT 4.0 shutdown sound.
Windows 2000 Beta 3 used the fake Windows NT 5.0 shutdown sound for their startup and a random sound for their shutdown.
Windows Me Betas used Windows 98 sounds.
Windows Whistler used Windows 2000 sounds.
Windows Server 2003 UK edition used Windows XP sounds.
Windows Longhorn used Windows XP sounds.
Windows Home Server used Windows XP sounds.

Windows 2000 actually used Windows Me sounds! However, it did use these sounds, but in Beta 3. RTM used Me sounds.

Samsung Devices From 2010-present and Royale Remixed Sound. No Build of Longhorn Never Uses these Sounds. Sources Such as a Custom Windows XP Theme Called Royale Remixed and Samsung Devices from 2010-present.
The sounds actually come from a sound scheme made by NEO Sounds called Deep Fantasy.

I only use sounds that are commonly used outside of Windows Never Released videos.

@@Adrian-gh9ml Just because it's in a startup/shutdown sounds video doesn't mean it's real. I recommend downloading a program like VirtualBox and downloading a Beta 3 build of Windows 2000 and try it for yourself.

You do have to be 13+ and I think that is very stupid because they could just do a different approach where innappropriate clips of a video are cut off and when a swear word is detected, the audio would be cut off.
Age restrictions are seriously overrated, there should only be age restrictions on websites that are built for hosting inappropriate content, not on websites that should be for all ages.
I hate how you need to be at least 13 to create an account on these websites.
I really do. I hate how they haven't bumped up the age restriction feature, or even thought of making child and adult accounts. Is it really that hard? They KNOW children are on their website, yet they still strictly enforce in their TOS you have to be over 13. Just delete TH-cam in general, no one would care. On a serious note, TH-cam needs to step up their game when it comes to children on their platform.

Yes, even other websites needs to understand that the internet should be for all ages. If I had the resources and time to do so, I would develop services that would run on one account for them all, but if you get banned on one service, the other services survive. Heck, if you get banned for commenting something innapropriate, you only get banned from commenting. Why do websites not think about a solution to their problems.
