Bike touring in Cornwall - The West Kernow Way

- This is the story of when Katie and I went on a bike touring adventure, following the West Kernow Way, around the Cornish peninsula. The West Kernow Way is a 230km route that takes in some of Cornwalls most beautiful gravel roads and bridleways as it loops around the Cornish coastline. Neither of us had a great deal of bike touring experience so it really was a chance to try something new and embrace life in the saddle.

That's a lot of cycling. I'm no cyclist and my ass hurts just watching this. Kudos to Katie for giving it a shot and adjusting the trip as necessary. Day 3 looked a bit rough for cycling though!. I really liked how you interspersed the conversation between you and Katie throughout the video - I thought that worked really well.
Haha yer padded shorts are a life saver!Katie is a trooper, she always finds the positive and makes the most of things. Digging the flowers in your friends helmet Betty. After your friends injury this was a great ride. You did say about the weather and you got some - but you were both real troopers. Nice one - hats off. Ha ha, 'The Castle and Cat' would make an awesome pub. An impressive place it must be said. Well, we all have to part at some point. The weather here has been hit and miss between storms so getting out when we can. Yer Katie was a real trooper, what we didn't know was that she was actually pregnant! My last outing was best - a great hike and super sunrise camping - in your own time old mate. Ah, wow a brand new little one. Good on her and the baby. 'Welcome to the planet. I hope it's a happy and healthy one for you.' That's what I say to new babies. My weekend? Swimming training - getting faster. Well, I hope you guys have had a good one. Peace out.
Fantastic movie, very well done. Loved the gorgeous scenery (subscribed)😊. I noticed your a pedal rider rather than cleats (I prefer my gravel bike with pedals) Just wondered what your thoughts were re the pedal vs cleat debate?
Thank you Andy! Great to hear you enjoyed watching 😊 I am with you on Team Pedal, particularly on the gravel bike. I have dappled with cleats in the past, but fell off one to many times stationary, unable to get my foot free! I think I would be more inclined to try them again on my road bike, but otherwise I like foot freedom on when off road. What about yourself?
@@TheGirlGoneNomad After a few years using cleats and having a few embarrassing spills like you I now prefer the freedom of pedals plus it's great when you get somewhere and can walk around without looking like Bambi on ice 😊

@@TheGirlGoneNomad Just got back from a 4 week trip to the UK and it's pouring down with rain, no riding for me this weekend. Hope you have better luck 😊
@@andychallenor4585 Oh no! I do think the winter weather this year dragged on, it has been a very wet one. Had a few days in Scotland again this week gravel riding, one day was a wash out but the others welcomed some blue skies! Where in the UK have you been travelling?

@@TheGirlGoneNomad I like these kinda things but here in Europe is bit harder than in other places where it's warmer there is lot of sun, facts is its better to do an adjustment than to find an excuse.
