What a beautiful story and what an amazing son. Such a blessing to both families. I was lucky enough to be born in the US, but whenever I hear stories like this, my heart hurts so much for our elders who had to go through this.

Wars r devastated cus they destroyed n separated families, friends, relatives, n changed lives forever. My deepest sympathy goes out to you for loosing both your 2 children during your n your family's journey to Thailand. Can't imagine a mother's pain n grives for her children. I would probably gone mad if I would u. Glad that as time passed u were able to move on n start a new life in America. Also, happy for u that by maricle u found your long lost son during the war in Laos. Not many Hmoob families were as lucky as u.
Luckily, your son didn't die. I wonder how that happened. Maybe your husband left him behind on purpose cus his foot was injured n he couldn't run while carrying a child on his back. Therefore, he decided to leave your son so he could save his own life. It fishy about how your husband lost your son. Was there any witnesses? I won't believe him 100%. 😮
My parents were lucky that nothing happened to them when they fled to Thailand. At that time they weren't married yet. They met in the refugee camp in Thailand; got married n the I came along in 1979. Wish u n your son happy n healthy lives. Thanks for sharing your happy story.
