Hundreds of millions of dollars in research money every year...and it turns out all you really need is a single grape and a common kitchen microwave oven to get plasma.
So I rewatched this video today. And realized (and yes, apparently I'm stupid, can't believe I didnt think of this before.) That microwave ovens and wifi run on almost the same wavelength. And the reason I'm occasionally having wifi issues is because I have a shitty microwave and when it was running, my router was sitting on top of it and it would drop my wifi signal significantly. Thank you. Once again, yes I'm stupid.

Excellent video. But one thing was wrong, that the amplification of the waves varies with the electromagnetic absorption extent. This absorption extent depends on the bulk of the substance and not the surface area, as the internal as well as external absorption happens within the grape. Also, there is a continuous absorption and deflection of the microwaves within the grape, which does not allow the waves to escape out, somewhat similar to an optical medium in which light gets trapped as a result of total internal reflection. That's why the amplification, and therefore the concentration of the electromagnetic waves is maximum at the centre of the grape, and hence the two fields of electromagnetism interact with each other because of ionisation of periarieal air. Is it possible that the floating "ion cloud" might be an ionized puff of super heated steam escaping the grapes, in other words not just pure ionized air? Ninaus Bernhard, I thought exactly the same thing! Make a wish.😀

Sooner or later space travel is going to be fueled by microwaved grapes
And the spacecraft pilot will be Pee Wee Herman...(ROFL)
It is.
Space travel powered by grapes and time traveled by bananas. I like it!
Harry Saxon And we can see through it...:))

Just got slapped for having the house smelling like burnt grapes.. 👌🏾 was worth it.
Slapped myself upon reading such news , also worth it.
How does a burnt grape even smell like?
T Fries.... can I slap you? You seem to like it, could rub some grape juice on it afterwards.
@@haveiszalfaroqie smells like a grape that's burnt. Duhh🙄

It later underwent a life saving surgery
According to Weird Al Yankovic.... yeah.

So Thats how the grape ended up in the surgery.
They did microwave on a grape.

Can we just appreciate the fact that this guy has pretty much every language in the caption
Anakin Sandwalker is his a polyglot?
Ok
Not even close, becuase there are around 7000 languages.
But the languages that more than 70 % of the world speaks in, so...
Doesn't have Russian, which is a pretty big one
“Woah! Who needs drugs?” 5:50
lmao, I agree, who needs drugs when you got plasma on grapes
That made no sense but ok
As in the plasma grapes were more awesome than drugs. Not sure how that doesn't make any sense. seems pretty reasonable comment to make.
Shutup
Thanks for pointing that out! I missed it!
This is great for chefs to understand how microwave cookery works
When you just wanted warm grapes.
That's funny
Never.

Off
Let’s make a plasma gun where the microwave is the gun and the grape is the ammo
I was just thinking about that lmao XD
How about the microwave is the gun, and the target it the ammo as well? This is how they actually work.
No no no the gun has a mini microwave in it and it's auto fed with grapes
Impractical.

Can plasma get you high ?
@@trident7555 no but I know sniffing permanent marker/ nail polish makes you high
I smoke and i would stop for plasma, but I feel like microwaving a grape is more dangerous than smoking a cigarette lol.
This is really amazing. Omg

Dont let this distract from the fact that I post videos of eggs every single day

how crazy would it be if grapes in a microwave actually contributed to the advancement of computing into the next decades.

Yeah, I'm planning to hook a car battery up to a magnetron with a CO2 canister and a paintball gun to make a plasma cannon that uses grapes as ammo.
264 bit grapevines?
Waww, so much physics in a grape. Resonance, line broadening, internal reflection, plasma. Very interesting
