How to do it if I want to put the face of a cube against the face of another cube. What is the easiest way to do without calculating coordinates? In SketchUp, on the move tool, simply select the edge of the cube and click on the edge of the other cube that the two cubes will be "together".
Milo Mirabelli Make sure you're in one of the component modes (points/polygons/edges) and using the move tool. That should be all there is to it: take.ms/LVPtb I tried it in R14 and R15.
Im looking for such a option to align to pivot more easily to 0,0,0. If found magiccenter plugin which is really helpful. But im missing a workflow to center the pivot to the world and not the object or mesh
Hey, I have one question. I have two objects which I can see are in completely different positions in C4D, but for some reason their PSR coordinates are exactly the same. How is this possible?
Is it possible to upgrade the Drop To Floor plugin or similar, so that it drops to workplane instead of floor? Would be great to use in combination with "Set Workplane to Selection" and with, say a box or something that have it's pivot point centered. How else would you do like the Snap Together Tool from Maya? th-cam.com/video/0mv8_C_QbAs/w-d-xo.html
Nice Jamie! I learn everytime something important from you :) Thank you so much. Here is my wishlist with things that i wish to learn from you in the future :D ... - Aligning the Gizmo to Edge direction - Physics & Dynamics - Joints, Constraints See ya soon! regards
Aha! Align in Max! Someone needs to make a translation spreadsheet. Would save a lot of people a ton of time. C4D uses some very odd words for common things. Melt for removing excess edges?!?! Ohhhhkaay
9 years later and this tutorial still works ♥ Thanks a lot

Very good, btw, how are you accessing the drop down axis menu shown at the very end of the video?
When in the Move, Scale, Rotate tools, you can right click the axis widget and the menu appears.
