    I am probably wrong, but I thought that the "S" designated a higher lift camshaft.
    Try a piece of wood dowel rod stuck in the velocity stack to help hand start these engines. The slots for the choke should let enough air in, but blocking the velocity stack would allow the throttle to be opened slightly more thus allowing more fuel into the mixture. After it starts or is well primed, pull out the dowel rod.
    I am surprised how well a 3,000 mah Lipo battery starts all my engines up to my Saito FA 1.80.
    Your engine runs well without nitromathane.

      The S did designate a higher lift cam for the 45S. After that engine all others had the higher lift cam. After that the S only meant external appearance i.e. gold rocker covers, or black paint. Unless there is a review or reviews out there to counter that.

    Hi David! Great Saito you have there. Unrelated question - have you ever tried a "ron sexton" test stand? A few of my friends in the glow engine hobby have them and they look excellent and seem to really improve the entire experience. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

      I only saw the large one I guess. It says .049 up to 2.0cu engines.

      @@dmrcflyr2 that's the one I was looking at purchasing myself. Supposedly they are incredibly well made and super adjustable.

    Why does it smoke so much? Running rich?

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Castor oil based fuel. You want to see a lot of exhaust otherwise you are running too lean and will shorten the life of the engine.

    So it's broke in? Why so rich?

      What difference does it make to you how i run my engines?

      @@dmrcflyr2 Don't take offence. Just curious if it was not fully run in or if it is easier starting rich. I just like to hear the 4's sing at throttle. I have had an O.S. 120 that made great sounds.
