    2. Can I make use of an external camcorder?

    Hi PhillyCam...enjoy your channel. New to Streamyard...so still learning. But I have a question....I haven't seen anyone cover this or if it's possible. I want to make a little more dynamic.....so if I have 2 to 3 guests on a stream and I am using overlays. If I switch to a solo few or a different few....is there a way to have the overlays change with the switch to a different view?

    I'm interested in exactly what you demonstrated with one "minor" difference... I want my guests to be playing instruments so that we can all jam together. Granted we all have all recommended internet settings and equipment, do you think it will be ok? It doesn't have to be perfect but we don't want to crash and burn either

    Hi, I am a long time Streamyard user and subscribe to the $25 per month service.
    I produce regular videos plus I try to do weekly live productions.
    I have a problem which you might be able to help me with: when live I try to have three cameras running from my Apple Laptop with an external Blue yeti . The problem is I often encounter echos even after muting my webcams. I film in my model railway room and there is background noise from my model trains.
    At this point I am a bit confused. Wondering if you can make any suggestions ?
    Thanks
    Charlie

    Great tutorial. One question, on TH-cam LIVE is there a way for attendees to chat with admin without having a TH-cam account? via a different chat account somehow?

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex, as far as I know just about every platform that allows commenting does require an account of some kind. On youtube they would only need a gmail account to comment, not specifically a youtube account which more and more people have these days. One alternative might be to give viewers a link a google doc where they could post comments anonymously. Wordpress sites also have an anonymous commenting feature, so you could setup a free page just for that that you link people to. And if they're your guests on Streamyard itself then they can use the private chat right in streamyard without needing an account of any kind which is super useful.

    • @alexanderson5604
      @alexanderson5604 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roland.boyden Thanks. Good suggestion google doc where people can post comments anonymously. Don't they need to sign in to google still though? how to comment on google doc anonymously? Thanks in advance, Roland.

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexanderson5604 If you set the doc as 'Anyone with this link can edit' then they can make notes without an account. there's not really anything to stop them from changing other comments or deleting sections or messing it up though so its not a perfect solution.

    Any tip on how to revert mirror effect on streamyard? Thanks

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Marcus, yeah as of right now Streamyard doesn't offer a mirror option because it shows everyone what the final broadcast is looking like so guests aren't mirrored there. There are some third-party pieces of software to flip your webcam before it gets to Streamyard but then you'll be backwards on the live broadcast too.

    Quick question. I have vmix and the quality is AMAZING. Would I just copy the streamyard link?

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean if you wanted to try and combine vMix and Streamyard? You could connect a computer running Streamyard to your vMix system using NDI which does screenshare over the network. We also use vMix for more intricate productions at PhillyCAM. But if you're happy with vMix I would say to just stick with that. Streamyard's real benefit is how much it streamlines the process of going live, adding comments, etc without adding a lot of complexity but vMix will deliver at least equal if not better video quality (really video quality all comes down to your guest's webcam quality and internet connection anyway). But vMix is built to be a full service switching software so it will give you more options for sure, albeit at the cost of simplicity.

    Hi Roland, I've been trying to play music but the sound is not clear to those who are listening at home, we are using Streamyard for our Sunday church service. Could you please help me with this. Thanks.

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mr Arranger! Streamyard did finally add a 'Stereo Audio' checkbox to the audio settings. I would make that that is checked, and that 'Audio Processing' is UNchecked and that should help audio quality quite a bit. You'll also notice that the audio quality really sucks when you're in the broadcast but haven't gone live yet, but it should snap to full quality as soon as you start actually broadcasting. For whatever reason the preview of the audio before you go live is really low quality. Also here's a tutorial on different options for using loopback software to get the audio into Streamyard--maybe something in there helps too: phillycam.org/blog/how-loopback-your-computers-audio-recording

      Hi Rakesh, right now the free version allows for up to 6 guests and the paid versions go up to 10. But they've expanded it once in the last sixth months already so this number could go up.

    How do you use live chat on StreamYard?

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mo, do you mean the social media portal part or the Private Chat? The Private Chat is great for communicating with anyone on the broadcast behind the scenes, but the Comments section is really cool because it combines all the comments you're getting on all the platforms you're streaming to at once and let you respond right from there.

    How did you turn off the names for each person? It makes me add a name for each person.

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ricky, sorry we're so late to the punch answering questions. This is a choice under 'Brand' at the bottom where you can uncheck the 'Add Name' feature

    • @Ricky-im8cv
      @Ricky-im8cv 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! Yes I finally found the switch to turn off the names. When you display each video, there's one display that shows one person in a larger display while the others are on thr side in smaller boxes. Is there a way to choose who gets to be displayed in the larger box? Right now, if I'm include its always me but if I remove myself, its always the same person.

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ricky-im8cv It's clunky but the only reliable way I've found to do it is fullscreen the screenshare, then while it's covering the screen remove the person you want in the picture from the broadcast and then re-add them. when you re-add them it should make them the person in the picture in picture. We'll do some more testing though and see if maybe there is a better solution.

    • @Ricky-im8cv
      @Ricky-im8cv 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah ok. I thought about doing that and wondered if it would work but didn't get around to test it. If you find a better solution please do share. Thanks!

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ricky-im8cv They just added a feature for you to easily change which guest is in which position which includes who is on the side of the screenshare! All you have to do is drag and drop!! They do seem to be good at listening and adding features so I try to add everything in I want everytime I get one of those 'How did the broadcast go?' dialog boxes.

  • @dahlia3472
    @dahlia3472 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How about 5-6 persons?

    • @roland.boyden
      @roland.boyden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dahlia, it now supports up to 10 people at a time. The only downside is you have to choose either you fullscreen just one person, or you see all your guests at once. If you just wanted to show for example 4 out of 10 guests as a time, you'd have to remove the other six one at a time from the broadcast and put them backstage where you can't hear their audio anymore.
