    They are called trailer park millionaires and they all are so greedy it's sad. Trailer parks used to be where middle to low income people could live, now that the greed has taken over our streets are filling with homeless working people. It's disgusting.

      Streets are filling with those who refuse to work and improve their lives. Try getting someone to help you with painting your house or moving boxes and furniture around. Many of these folks could turn out at a temp empl agency and get a daily check. They could be living in a new mobile somewhere that they could eventually own if they stopped carping and began being productive.

      @@aday1637 That's not everyone who's homeless. A lot maybe. But from experience I know there are also a ton of working homeless people. I worked the entire time I was homeless, sometimes 2 jobs, but couldn't find a job willing to give full time or a living wage. I was lucky enough to have an RV but had no power or water in it.

      Not to mention these trailers look really, really run down. There is no way a new tenant could move in, as most look like they will need serious repairs to be considered livable.

      @gailmckay5551 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@erich6860 They will get rid of the bad ones, put in new ones to sell. They want to get rid of the ones they rent out so they don't have anything for repairs going out and only have space rents coming in. It's all about making the most money. I watched it happen at both the trailer parks my sister managed at. That way they also can pay managers less and charge them rent, because all they do is collect rent.

      You obviously don’t know what changes have occurred since Covid. Example- insurance, taxes and upkeep has sky rocketed. The rent goes up because the cost of the property has gone up. Do these people think everything stays the same? It doesn’t. My property taxes went up $976 after Covid. Do you think my mortgage company cares? No. I still have to pay my bills. If you are renting you have to remember it’s a business. When costs go up for owner, they go up for you. And there should be a late fee if you’re late. What do these people think? They can just do what they want? Pet tax is stupid tho.

      I had to sign a 3 year rent to own lease for my trailer, but of course I had to make sure I actually envisioned myself being in my own mobile home which I did and thankfully I have a newer one than others in the neighborhood. There were some issues they never resolved that I had to fix myself although nothing too major but still, unfortunately in a rent to own they basically have you out on your own as if you own the place. I got barely anything fixed as a result of it, but even for the window when they finally replaced for my bedroom (there was none there at all, it was covered up in cardboard and foam when I first got the place) that took a couple months. As for the smaller window in the bedroom, it was one that was completely shattered from the last people living in it because one of the brothers was kicked out during an argument and he threw something at it to get back in. Instead of me getting a new window for that, I knew I had to get an air conditioner for my room so I decided to get that frame out of there, braced the air conditioner with a 2 by 4, and just boarded up the rest of the area above the air conditioner so it would be covered up. I also had a cracked window for my living room which they never replaced and since I had to eventually get a window air conditioner anyway that would cover both my living room and kitchen (I bought a Denali Aire from Menards that is 12,000 BTU so it is more than enough) I had to get the window replaced before getting that air conditioner. I think also it is possible for some people to where if you have the money to get something fixed and you’re in a screwy situation, even though it’s messed up you might have to take the hit at times and to be honest, if you fix certain things yourself (or in my case having a reliable friend to help with any repairs and improvements) it might work out better than relying on their maintenance to fix it because not only will they drag their feet but even if they get called out to fix something, it may not always get done right.

    I live in a "fee simple" mobile home park in Palm Springs.. that's where you own the home and the land and pay an HOA to maintain the common areas. 90% of the homes in my gated community are from the late 70's or 80's, and you won't find one for sale for less than $350k. But you also won't find one that's a rotted out POS like the ones it THIS park. The problem isn't that those homes are 30 years old, it's that pigs have been living in them. BTW, there's a mobile home park in Malibu (Paradise Cove) with one home on the market. It's a standard lot 1970's double wide 2br, 1100sq ft, and the asking price is $3,995,000.

    This is exactly one of the reasons I recommend people NOT to go into a rental trailer park. Whether or not you own your trailer. Owners change, rents go up. Sometimes they sell out to a subdivider and evict everyone. Then what?
    People have trailers that haven't moved in 30 years, they're never going to make it through a move even if the owner could afford it. In one case I know of a couple spent over $100,000 on a nice new one and the park had sold, they were not told and the trailer was moved in- and they along with the others were evicted. Previous owners wanted that last few dollars.
    Moving a trailer is not cheap. Elderly and working poor and disabled can't just move their trailers. They end up among the homeless. This is happening in Utah and other states.

      Ahem. Do YOU know how to manage money? No? Let me explain as if you were five. If you had two dogs you would be paying 1,200 dollars extra per year to have them. That's 6000 in five years, and 12,000 in 10 years that could have been saved for vet bills, emergencies, investing or whatever. Where I live they do require a 375 deposit for each pet but over 10 years this would be only 750 extra to house two pets as opposed to 12,000. I realize you regard yourself as the sh*t But you should know that if you judge other people for complaining about THAT policy you will come off as....uneducated. But I am sure that is not true. I am sure you are brilliant in your financial skills you just lack basic compassion and humanity. You wanna be the guy with the extra 12,000 in their pocket for doing jack but own some property.

    I used to live in a trailer park years ago and it wasn't bad. Good rent and awesome families and neighbors. A new management company took over, and it was all good to start with, then they started dropping unreasonable rules on everyone. As the people moved out, the trailers didn't get rented out again right away, as the normal. As people moved, the trailer park started to make the lots smaller. They were more or less taking one lot and splitting it in two. When I had finally moved, I could practically step out my back door and walk off the porch directly to the neighbor's front porch. It was like if I wanted to piss out my bathroom window, I could hit the neighbors toilet, no problem

      @@margaretstokely9016 But that is a one-time charge to keep the place in good condition. Not a monthly charge in a place already completely rundown with zero maintenance. A person with two dogs would end up paying 12,000 over 10 years under that policy, instead of 800. And the person paying only 800 could demand things like garbage disposal, plumbing and air conditioning repair. I've lived in my apartment 24 years and not once did I have to fix a rotting porch. And also I am the local cat lady with too many cats. But I am not the reason for the cat problem. The reason for the cat problem is for some reason they insist on having an open dumpster policy here. So people dump their unwanted pets to forage the garbage. Why an open dumpster policy? I don't know. All I know is complexes with closed/covered dumpsters have less cat problems. If I moved, the cat problem would still be here. And you can't stop people from loving cats. You can't only rent to people who are cold about the suffering of cats and continue to insist on open dumpsters. Its unrealistic.

I saw it a year ago thinking this very thing is exactly what would happen and then selling the park out when they are offered a good payoff. This is another scheme to just do Americans struggling living below most standards of living because poor then they think the people are to stupid or poor to stand against them in court. We need to back up the renters of the Country. There are more renters than home owners today and no real protection that should have been in effect centuries ago.
