This is my opinion, 28k is a lot of money. I would take 7K and maxi out your Roth today. Lump sum out performs DCA 66% to 33%. If there is gonna be an increase in your salary this year, it will not take you long to replace it.

I've considered it but my income isn't guaranteed to increase so I'd rather keep the savings, at least for now
