that was my go to worm and color when i was a kid back in the 80s! they even had a small velcro patch on the egg sack so they'd "stick" to the basses teeth. now i see that on frogs. some new ideas a re old ideas... haha
Nice good old culprit worms!! I used to always nail em on those...I think I used to use the color copperhead and the ones that are silver and black...great worms great catches.👍
My first T Rig was the 7.5 Culprit Red Shad. I caught so many bass. That was what started my confidence with the Texas Rig. Texas Rig is my favorite lure of all time!
Even though the water was somewhat low..What an awesome day....25 cents Holy crap! Now that is a well spent quarter right there now...caught 2 really nice bass which I knew you would...you get me pumped everytime you hook one..that last one put up a nice fight and showed his jumping skills..loved it..that was so much fun..thanks for the excitement..keep it realistic
Nice bass!!! I fish a lot of culprits. Never seen that color. Gonna see if I can find some. That kind of color would be the bomb where I fish. Ya done good bro👍👍👍. Great vid!
Wow I can’t believe you found these for 25¢! My partner’s brother gave me 2 bags of these (black and junebug) and all the fish I’ve caught this weekend have been on the Culprit 7.5 curly tail!
@@RealisticFishing yes. There are no natural lakes in Tx. Big diff is that ours are for extended duration flood control so they need to change depth. Yours is supposed to be constant elev.
I found a bag of those worms (same color) the other day. Used to fish the 4, 6 and 10 inch versions. Next time try hooking the worm on the side to get more of a copper flash...nice tail walking bass.
About .03 cents a worm, not shabby. Cheap soft plastics got the job done. With a little help from you bringing that bait to life with your techniques and knowledge, or maybe they were hungry? But still nice to have them as guests on the show. As always Keep It Realistic!
I've tried expensive plastics, crankbaits, chatterbaits, you name it. Only thing I ever catch a bass on is a senko style zoom or yum dinger. Texas rigged or ned rigged.
CULPRIT was BOSS, in the late80's-Early 90's, on Chickamauga!(TN River,Chattanooga area) Caught THOUSANDS of Bass with this brand!!They made a "Velcro Patch" version also! It was to get caught by the Tooth Patch of the Bass and help in Hook-Ups! Spawn of 90 and 91..... PERSONAL BEST! #7,15 and then #9,12....will never forget Culprit Brand!
I will make a video to try and duplicate what you did. Hopefully I'll get lucky. I'll tag you on my TH-cam channel. BTW I highly recommend eurotackle mini swimbait. They catch panfish and bass. I catch even crappie with them.
I haven't had more luck and bites as I have with a culprit worm. I love their colors especially the crazy ones which surprisingly gets buys as well as the normal colors. They say throw something the fish hasn't seen and the crazy colors sometimes work better.
Nice, I am not sure without checking but think at one Walmart I went to...I travel alot for work...they had this box of like .75 soft plastics made by Creme, and the colors are amazing to be so cheap, and considering I think they were actually the first to create a soft plastic artificial lure.
Thinking about learning fly fishing since i can't catch anything normally at my lake. A famous saying in my area when someone asks how the fishing is is "It's philpott lake."
@@RealisticFishing Either everything is biting or nothing is. No inbetween. It's not a natural lake so maybe that has something to do with it. Also it gets really deep just a few feet out from shore. Like 3 feet of shallow then straight down to below 100 feet.
Full disclosure, Culprit's "Crawdad" and "Moccasin" colors are confidence colors of mine here in Florida. I'm happy to see them getting some love on TH-cam.
Very cool! I love those coppery and orange colors, especially laminates like that one, where there's contrast. We have super low water levels here in NY as well. It's rather sobering to see that it's the same in so many other places. So COOL to see my Jacksonville buddies Charles and CC giving their shoutouts! Hahah! I had the great fortune to spend a day fishing with Charles (Hook Em In The Mouth) this summer and had an absolute blast.
There are too many mid-size bass in my pond. I encourage anybody that fishes with me to keep any fish between 2 and 4 lb. We let the little ones grow and hope the big ones we put back get really big. Have to reduce the competition with those bass between 2 and 4 pounds.
@@johnbaker4847 That's how this pond got unbalanced to begin with. I'm working toward a totally natural balance. There is more varied wildlife every year. There are so many midsize bass in this pond that it's easy to have a catch of 10 fish averaging close to 3 pounds in one afternoon. When I started managing this pond, a bass over 20" would be so skinny that it was a pound under the normal size for a bass of that length. Once stocking of minnows was stopped, the bass became very underweight. I wasn't responsible for either the stocking of minnows or stopping that activity. It was before my time. In closing, I'm from an area where a small body of water like this would be called a pond. However, since it is naturally fed, it's called a lake here in Middle Georgia. The largest bass in the lake run around 8 lb and I would like to get them up to 10 or 12 lb.. I'm not looking for giant fish but just fish 6 pounds and over. Catching anything between 6 and 8 lb is a real thrill for a lady in her seventies.👵🐟🎣🚣♀️
What was the pink "ewwww" thing?😂😂 I used to love using culprit worms so I figured you'd catch some with those. My favorite colors were blue/purple and black/blue. The 2nd one was very nice. Love how he jumped after you released him. Guess he wasn't sure if he was free yet or not. lol
I have that same worm 🤔. Never fished with it, though. I went fishing today for the first time in a long time. Five of us fishing and I was the only one to catch something. Only caught one, but it was worth it. (Disclaimer. I was fishing with a 5, 6, 10 and 35 year old 🤣🤣🤣). That was a nice bass 👍
This exact color worm in 9 or 9.5” has become one of my go to worms…it just works for me.
Great lesson for a lot of young anglers. It does not have to cost a small fortune to work. Great video buddy.
Can't get any better 2 nice fish on cheap baits.
It truly amazes me how you find these deals on lures, and culprit worms no less!
Growing up, that was my favorite color

Lol at the low water. Our lakes in north TX are 2-3 ft low, which is still 97%. A bad year is 20-30% and 15+ ft low.
This is controlled by a dam, is yours?
