With your old Mac, try plugging it into an external monitor and loop a video in the background. I have a similar issue and that is what worked for me. Hope that helps.
that is a great tip, to use external hard drives. I literally was just thinking about my storage space on my computer and started deleting stuff. Thanks for the information!
Another tip is to use Dropbox. If you take the folder where you save all of your design files and client files and save that in Dropbox you'll always have a backup of it so it doesn't matter what happens to your computer, everything gets backed up constantly as long as you have internet access.
2 of my computers are very old .desk tops..I have an OMEGA OM60 vinyl cutter from 1998..the first servo motor I bought.... my Graphtec is 10 years old the newest isn't always required......I use anything I buy untill it's dead and non repairable....old isn't bad....I'm old lol
Whats up big B ! great vid as always.. You could save the mac, could be just need a battery replacement. & you"ll be back & running. You could also use a patcher called opencore. To use old macs 09 & up, & run the latest OS from mac. I've got a 2010 MAC PRO tower & 2012 MBP running monterey. Tho I'm looking to get the M4 mac mini next month.
A couple budget friendly solutions are Mac mini (just get a budget monitor/keyboard/mouse) or iPad with apple pencil (you can use Procreate or Adobe Fresco, both free programs).
I have the same 2010 MacBook it’s a work horse I have up graded mine it can be fix just take to a any pc fix shop in your area not Apple they won’t fix it I still use it for going on line and some work
I like "Use what you are comfortable with." Truth...
I get you! Mac mini to this day! I just barely bought a refurbished MacBook for on the go. I still use my first gen iPad Pro. Works like a champ.

You think a Chromebook is good enough for graphic designs, and even the shipping program?
