  • We were picked up by a trail angel named Kelsey. She is such a joy and treated us to breakfast and coffee! It was a hot day and a 3k descent and 4.8k ascent! Huge up hill at the end of the day making it a tough day! On the bright side got a burger at belden today!

Boujee in your last video you said something like "I love singing to Jesus with the crowd at church". That stuck with me and inspired me to want to get back to church. Thank you for sharing your faith.

We love your videos and it is so refreshing to finally see a hiker paying tribute to God's creation and thanking him to keep you safe.
Thanks for sharing those beautiful scenery moments. Cleaning the bathroom at the trail angel's home was very commendable. Wishing you a continued safe, fun and adventurous hike and hope and pray that you get hooked up with an equally joked person one day. God Bless

There have been multiple fires in this area. My son fought the 2008 Canyon Complex Fire here (~50,000 acres) and there were a couple of fires after that, but the Dixie Fire burned over all the older fires and extended further into populated areas, even burning an entire town to ground in minutes (Greenville). As you know from hiking through multiple burns, wildfire generally burns in a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas, so the unburnt areas operate as see sources to regenerate the forest through a succession process that takes generations p of plant life (and often generations of human life, too).

Beautiful area! I hate to start the day going up hill so that usually plays into my mileage and campsite decisions! Once I busted my bladder filtering through a half clogged filter and out of desperation I filled a gallon ziplock bag about a third full, pressed out all the excess air and walked with it in my mesh pocket on my pack!! It worked (I was careful) and thankfully it was warm enough that if it popped or leaked I would have been ok. Happy Trails!
