Great video….you can greatly and rapidly improve if you can work on these daily….they can be admittedly boring but they are fundamental movements that need to precise and calibrated….in time you will gain more control….be patient…you never outgrow these exercises….u can do them while u cook, watch tv, in a zoom meeting, talk on phone w or without music there’s always value!!
Seems the biggest challenge for instructors is being able to monetize the transfer of their skills to more students than they can personally teach, without being viewed as some kind of hack or brand. The need to make money is in contention with a desire to teach from the heart as well. I think you’ve done a great job. One of these days I’ll show up at your studio for a lesson. Maybe late next year.
Uffff excellent video, I have been following you for a long time and I love the professionalism and detail with which you teach the steps, I am crazy to be able to acquire your course and thus improve my casino so i be able to teach that wonderful dance to many, greetings from Venezuela!
There is one thing that confuses me; the weight transfer and corresponding hip movements, is it different when dancing a normal basic? For instance, when you step forward with your left on 1 (as a guy), your weight is on your left foot, but you don't bend the knee there, right? So your hip would move to the left. Whereas, while stepping in place with your left on 1 (during son) your hip moves to your right. So my question is: is the salsa basic sort of an exception, concerning body movement in the lower body?
💪 I appreciate the comments. Bent knees just give a more grounded connection and men/ladies can dial down/up the natural hip movement that comes as a consequence to get the aestheticic they desire.
The course gives a completely different presentation of body movement. It is at the bottom of the page with foundational steps, and music. The material for individual body movement of course is the same, comprehensive from the ground up.

Very detailed and on point. Love it!!
I bought my course. Can't wait to start working with it. Thank you so much Mr. Messina.
Uploading some new videos today. I hope you enjoy !
At the end (just before the detail to ladies section) you did a paso son on1. Is it more natural to do it on2 ? Like you did in your last video
The beginner course is all taught atiempo as that's the count most are likely to encounter in local beginner casino classes.

Okay looking at 27:07 I see I was wrong! The body movement in the hips stays the same during basic. Thank you for the helpful video, awesome

Superb video🎉

While I appreciate this video, I am slightly disappointed that the paid course doesn't add nothing to this video about the solo movements.
The course gives a completely different presentation of body movement. It is at the bottom of the page with foundational steps, and music.
The material for individual body movement of course is the same, comprehensive from the ground up.
