I rarely have any problem with the cat litter scattered around the house. I have a few cats, and use crystal litter which absorbs the odour fantastically well yet was a problem when it kept on getting stuck to my babies` little paws. One day I saw in Kmart store (Australia) a rubber mat with it`s surface made in a loopy design, so a few layers of these small multiple loops catch most of the cats litter when they jump out from their tray! You don`t need all these fancy electronic/robot litter boxes for this. It costs about AUD $3 and easily washable. Just sharing what works for me, hopefully it can be useful for you, cat lovers :-)
@@MsFred58 maybe put a couple of cheap rugs with a rough surface so they stop some litter from spreading around the house... I do have 2 tiny rugs that are washable and also I switched recently from crystals to paper litter it`s not sticking to cat`s paws, easy to pick up and doesn`t get that spread a squashed like crystal! btw - clumping Clay is the worst!

I would love to get that micro-chip cat door, if it came in extra large. We have a Maine Coon and he does not fit through any standard cat flap. Plus it gets the guardian to micro-chip their pet, and that can save lives. And our cats love their fountains. Everything else is for down the road.
Please do not let it cat out. Its very dangerous and it just breaks my heart to see cats outside. They are truly indoor animals, and if you have the right indoor environment, there is no reason for them to be loose out. Build a catio if you really think they need to be out, or take them for a leashed walk.
ive got sureflap... its great for keeping the bastard next-door cat out. The mechanism once got stuck open and the neighbors cat got in, so my cat still nervously guards it 6 months on.... It needs a squirter-function to spray unknown cats with water!

And a big 10 llb it was around 10$. But you can also get the pellets from any home goods store ( ie tracker supply, anywhere with farm supplies) for cheaper

One thing wrong with this litter box... It looks nice but both my TOMS are Hugh weighing over 23 lbs each.... They would not like cramped corners to potty in..... Make it size optional.... Love the kitty door but again would my TOMS fit through it ? Size optional please !! My TOMS are not fat just very muscular and healhty
Finally someone is using the microchips for cat doors, I've been waiting for that. I'm buying one for SURE. we don't have intruder cats where I live... we have much worse... skunks and raccoons. A few weeks ago a skunk got in to eat cat food and sprayed one of my cats in the face ;r(,,,, The grand poobox... terrible name, Horrible marketing. The grate isn't long enough to do much of anything. Most cats will only put one, maybe two paws on the actual grate. Another gimmicky crappy product. The fountain isn't good either, the water comes in contact with plastic via the pump, NOT good for cats. clean your cats water every day. No plastic bowls

Yep! Me, too. I now have 18 (fixed). A couple have come and gone but usually bc I had to put them down for sickness. Otherwise, my outside cats have their own 22' HEATED bunkbed camper. Nice open-type windows for the warmer months. A lady several years ago told me cats have to have (2) egress/ingress. That's very important.

All these cats seem to NEVER GO OUTSIDE. never climb a tree, never gallop through fields, never sniff the neighbourhood hedges, garden walls, parked car tyres , never attack clumps of grass, and eat some of it. Never intrude strange bedrooms, Never have conversations or just stare at other cats, encounter silly dogs (on the lead of xourse) . Never sharpen claws on trees or pallets or planks. Never dig a hole in freshly raked earth and cover it neatly afterwards. What a life confined to these designer interiors, what a sad life...
m vl Hi there. I live in Arizona, unfortunately there are a vast amount of predators. Coyotes, Hawks, owls, javelina, rattle snakes even bobcats . To keep our cats safe we built a catio for them. It's 700 square ft. & they love it! Huge tree branches for them to climb, towers, grass, hammocks, huge water fountain & more. I get what your saying, I'd love to let them out to hunt, climb etc.
It very dangerous for a cat to go outside as the average outside cat dies of disease and accidents and only live for 5 years vs inside cats that lives for 15 years. Also another thing my cat was allowed outside and he got ran over by a car so for my new cat I never let her outside on her own and when she is outside she is on a leash. She doesn't try to get out of the leash or run away even when I let go of the leash so I know she doesn't feel uncomfortable. Also where I live some people shoot feral cats for being a nuisance so it's really not safe for them to go outside. Point is you don't know how dangerous it is for a cat to go outside and as long as they have a reasonable amount of room to walk around and stuff to climb on and scratch they'll be fine

I don’t hide the litter box because it’s ugly. I hide the litter box because it smells like cat shit and any guests don’t need to suffer that smell thank you. Also, only closed lid design? Not all cats will use a box that isn’t open. Some prefer boxes with no lid.

We fill litter boxes deep from corner to corner, because cats like it that way, and it is more hygienic.

But...you must empty it 200% as often.

That litter box is no good. Cats DO NOT like or feel safe in enclosed liter boxes. The need open ones whether you think they are ugly or not.
